  1. I agree with looking at moving Whitehair back to C or maybe even Daniel's if he can be re-signed. Not sure I agree on the Borum assessment because he looked decent being a rookie. Maybe he was not the best selection if Jenkins/Borum are both only RTs. I still am curious at seeing Daniel's at C since Kreutz once thought he would be all-pro there. It would be easier finding a RG than a C.
  2. He was different but I want to know why the Bears front office took nearly a week to come up with something.
  3. Interesting. By chance did anyone ask him about the leak of Nagy getting fired after the Detroit game? I think there was something to it and George fumbled.
  4. We can gain picks, but it will require trading down from the high 2nd. The only position I would take with that slot is a WR or DT.
  5. The Bears reportedly contacted Harbaugh. My guess is he declined the interview either from past relationship experiences or he wanted power of GM/Coach. I am fine not having Harbaugh. I would like to see a front office built like GB, Indy, Baltimore, Pit and the coach isn't above the team.
  6. I am good with it. Bring in Pep now to be QB coach
  7. It looks like he has been a part of some good teams. Should be solid and he and Poles have a solid relationship, so he has someone close to him to lean on.
  8. Looks like Tampa will be self destruction. Any coaches from TB? Leftwich?
  9. To transform the D, it might not take as much on the run. I seen an Opinion if Hicks leaves they replace with DeForest Buckner and can leave Goldman/Tonga in for run downs and find a 3T that can get pressure on pass downs. At DE, we have two greats. A Mike LB is a big need, so finding one that can play coverage in the flats LB/S mold will be familiar. One thing I recall about the Lovie years is all the Safties they seemed to draft, which we already need a starter or maybe two. On offense, the oline is actually pretty set if they get James Daniel locked up. Talk to Cody and James to see if they move one of them to Center or if that needs to be addressed by drafting or signing a FA. Signing a #1 WR to give Fields a reliable target is a priority, which I would love William's. Big FA needs: 5T to replace Hicks, #1WR to replace ARob. Re-sign Daniel's. Big Draft needs: MLB, C/G, S, Other needs - FA/Draft : CB, Will LB, WR, TE, 3T DT.
  10. Seen Greg Gabriel tweet stating rumors Bears offered anyone a job a false. They have to go through a process of interviewing minorities (Rooney Rule) or can get in trouble.
  11. The Fields do look greener in Chicago lol. Maybe GB and Den made offers but he wants to explore (Den interviewed him for HC). We will find out in a few days. Have to say, he has coached one of the greatest QBs for many years and helped him put up huge stats. If we can get 1/2 of that from Fields it would be good.
  12. I have heard rumors that since Denver hired Nathan Hackett, GBs OC to be their HC that Aaron Rodgers will follow. I would think if Getsy is that good, Hackett or GB would lock him in quick.
  13. Sounds like between Quinn, Caldwell and Eberflus, we may have got the diamond. One thing he will bring is accountability. If you loaf, you lose playing time. He will bring back a little bit of Lovie (hits) Hustle. Intensity. Turnovers. His style D is somewhat similiar too, meaning Roquan will be his prize Will LB. I worry about the offense but trust he has a plan since the Bears hired him. The Bears main focus was landing a coach with the best plan for Fields. Maybe Eberflus's plan was the defense will be so good the QB won't matter ?
  14. HC Quinn 51 and OC Caldwell 66 combo could work. I know the NFL has gone pass happy for offense, but it still takes a great Defense to win it all. I always admired Quinns defenses and his first toy would be SS/LB hybrid. Caldwell is someone who isn't going to make players fit him, but he changes to fit his players. He can be a solid figure for Fields to grow with. Caldwell will build a balanced offense too.
  15. Poles has completed his first interview for HC. Caldwell was still in town and just happened to run into Poles at the Meijer deli wearing a traditioal Ditka sweater vest. Kidding about being in town and the vest, but he did get the interview in.
  16. Since we are going KC connection route, watch them hire Beinemy and he makes Nagy the OC. How would that taste? Actually I heard QB coach Mike Kafka is an up and comer. He could be a OC target. I kind of hope Pole goes his own route. We did the Saints route and then the Chiefs. We need to create our own route. He did give the Ole Lovie quite of hit the road running...or get off the bus.
  17. So if Polian was hired to consult back in November, then the leaked rumors that Nagy was getting fired were true. The Bears were busted, played stupid, and didn't know what to do . Hence the many days it took for them to make a public. statement about Nagys job. Nagy or Pace probably confronted George about this and they cowered and told them their jobs are safe and they will be evaluated at the end of the season. So they held off contacting candidates because if they did the leaks would have blown the roof off and potentially harmed the process.
  18. Rumor is Caldwell is canceling his remaining interviews and it is believed because he thinks he has the job in Chicago or Jax. He was one of the only coaches to bring winning seasons to Detroit.
  19. I have a feeling if Harbaugh was to return to the NFL, he would go to Vegas. I would be shocked if the Bears make an announcement and if they did, it would probably be McGinnis 2.0.
  20. Per Hub, Jim Harbaugh had a brief conversation with the Bears. I think if he were a realistic candidate, their would be more to the leak.
  21. I seen Olave on the sim and made the pick. He seems to be slipping to late 1st lately so maybe he could drop to the 2nd. Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 7: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State (A) - slim chance but possible. Bears add a familiar target for Fields. Round 3 Pick 34 (N.O.): Brandon Joseph, FS/SS, Northwestern (A+) -traded down and have landed a hometown kid who can be a ballhawk. Can play both S positions. Round 3 Pick 35 (N.O.): Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State (A+)- Another familiar target for Fields. Great blocker that takes advantage of targets. Round 5 Pick 5: Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA (A+) - Big RB with speed, like Javonte Williams. Runs through players, has good vision. Bears need to run the ball and wear opponents down. Keep stacking RBs. Round 5 Pick 7: Cole Strange, OG, Chattanooga (A+) - small school G that has the attention of many scouts. Push Daniel to C, Whitehair to RG and Strange to LG. Round 5 Pick 18 (N.O.): Josh Paschal, DE/OLB, Kentucky (A+) - universal defensive lineman at Kentucky, play him like Parsons in Dallas. Round 6 Pick 23 (ARI): Joshua Williams, CB, Fayetteville State (A+) small school CB that has attracted attention with his 6-3 length, quickness and knack to be a downhill defender. Round 7 Pick 24 (ARI): Jeremiah Hall FB/RB, Oklahoma (A+) - would like to see a true FB back in the stable again.
  22. Just to stir the pot a little more... Regardless of who the Bears hire as GM or HC, they will use the work of the current scouting department for the 2022 draft like when Pace took the job. I see no problem with them hiring a GM. What is the difference if they hire a Operations manager, it is still hired by the board. What I would like to see is a good GM that can eventually move into that role and build the football mind group.
  23. Thank God JF is not playing well because if he was, then we would get another 4 years of Nagys offense. Teams know they can pressure JF and he will make mistakes. Good players and coaches figure out how to beat that and right now JF and Nagy cannot figure it out.
  24. It would be awesome to see Trace Armstrong come in and clean house. I wouldn't mind if he kept Pace as long as he handcuffed him on trading. Love to see Trace shut the McCaskeys completely out of decisions because I think they have a huge input in players.
  25. I think it will take a good pre-season to know more about Jenkins. I hope his injury is not too bad because I'd like to see him get as much action as possible the remaining games. Either way, I think we have great bookends in the making. As for C, I wish Daniel's could make the transition because he may grade decent at G, he was supposed to be a potential all-pro C. Get a good RG in the draft and the line could go from below average to above.
