Right now they have Floyd, Acho, and Lynch. If they had two studs then they could go for one, but they don't. They have Floyd who hasn't lasted a season. Lynch who is in a one year prove it deal, and Acho who is decent depth and ST. Oh, and Isaiah Irving... Let's say they draft Carter RD2 and another RD 6 like Dorance Armstrong. Neither of these guys will be ready until game 4 or 6, maybe get some snaps but not be main rotational player or starter. This gives the 2 chances for one to make it and depth for the following season if Lynch doesn't deserve a second contract. Another option is to bring Lamar Houston back or draft Edmund's knowing he can play ILB and OLB. Either way, they need one who can contribute soon and extra depth would help would help down the road.

I wish I can find a scouting report on the oline I read earlier. It broke down the top 10 prospects at each position and said which blocking scheme they would fit best at. As for the draft, I can see them drafting one or two OT's. Only McGlinchey from what I read is deemed a day one starter where the rest will take development and strength to get to that point. Since Leno recently signed, I think they target a swing OT to backup and take over for Massie next season around rd3 or 4 and then another later. If there is a G/C they like, they may take a 3rd lineman but I think they are fine going in with the guys they have if they remain healthy (which never happens). Still see them drafting OLB, ILB, WR, DB, OL. Doubling up on OLB and OL.

Ouch, thanks for digging into. At least they brought him in to get a look at. That shoulder may drop him down to 3rd pr 4th rd. As for the marijuana, I wish they wouldn't use but these days you smell it everywhere and people are not as scared to use or have it. It is still against the NFL/College rules, so it shows the level of respect that was given. With seeing this, I definitely scratch him from my round 2 as I was already skeptical.

I like that mock. Your are right, it may be Buffalo instead and I don't think we get the 2nd and 3rd both, just the 3rd but it was what was given. So I would still be happy with that draft minus Crosby to keep it realistic. One thought, I haven't looked deep into it, but if Grasu wasn't big enough why would Price be? They are about the same size at draft time. Maybe Ragnow would be better, but we do run a zone blocking scheme so mobility is also important.
-
It doesn't mean they won't draft G/C but I do feel they are comfortable moving forward with Kush while Morgan competes for that spot. It is unlikely Nelson is there, so they could take one Round 2. The problem I see is OLB won't be taken Round 1 unless they move down, since Chubb is likely top 5. That leaves a bigger need to find OLB than a G/C Round 2. The scenario that works the best is if Buffalo trades up for 8 and we gain a 3rd. They could land Davenport/LandryOLB or McGlinchey OT RD1 and then Hernandez/Ragnow G or Carter/Key OLB RD2.

The funny part about it all is he acted like he never removed the photos and they are now back on his page. Glad they asked him about it.

It is hard to know what led him to leave the team, I am sure some NFL teams have an idea by now after researching him. His play did drop off too. He dealt with injury, weight loss, and played more in coverage which didn't help. If he can get back to the 2016 version, then he was a top 10 prospect, but you don't want a player that has any issues that takes him away from producing. If there are concerns about him being troubled, I am sure the Bears will stay away. They tend to go for high character football guys

Article from the Windy City Gridiron states that the Bears have brought LSU edge rusher Arden Key in for a visit. I think if we do not draft edge Round 1, we will come looking for one in Round 2. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2018/4/16/17245302/chicago-bears-arden-key-visits-draft-lsu-pass-rusher-pro-day-injuries-nfl-2018

They are totally revamping their team it seems. Didn't seem like they admired him as much as we are now, but the highlight film is just that. Hopefully he takes the next step here and can give the Bears reason to part with Bellamy.

Watching the clip, he caught most of those across the middle in traffic. He lined up in the slot and outside from what I seen. He looks like a high upside WR with speed, wonder why Denver didn't keep him.
-
I think he does or can play end. His size is typical NT but look at his college games he played all over. Not saying I want him, but between Hicks, Goldman, and Vea, they would have a massive front.
-
I have to say, this draft is by far the hardest to figure out. None of us will guess close to the outcome. That is Pace, he keeps his ship tight and it is not fun this year guessing which way they go. I have 3 guys I want at 8, Nelson, Chubb, or Edmund's. Some experts say 8 is too early for Edmund's, but I think he can become a great so I wouldn't be disappointed with him. Round 2, we better fulfill a major need at OLB or G/C. Then I see people say they could grab a WR like Sutton, Kirk, or Moore and I can see that. Less than 2 weeks and we will watch it unfold.

I can agree with not having faith in Long and it is hard to view Kush or Morgan as legitimate starters. Maybe they take Davenport or Landry rd1 and go G/C round 2. For some odd reason I have a feeling on Landry which it will need a move down.
-
You mean no way they don't wait as late? I added Cappa in the 7th, who I said would be moved to play LG. No way he lasts until the 7th, but maybe they can get him with the 5th RD. With OLB being the teams #1 need and taking Edmunds ILB first, there wasn't much to draft between RDs 4 and 7 for G/C's.
-
LT prospect from Humboldt St college. Played at the senior bowl and performed exceptional to draw attention as staying at LT and not slide to G. It is doubtful he lasts until the 7th but I made my picks off of draftteks site. He will go between rds 3-5, imo. He is this years Jordan Morgan.
-
Pace would not have released Sitton (he probably would) without feeling confident in the guys we have, Kush plays C/G and Morgan G. I also have them moving Cappa to LG. I think the whole C/G perceived need is because we didn't see these guys last year, but they are high on these guys developing. If they cannot draft Nelson, they either take Edmunds or try trade down. OLB is the one major need as they don't have bodies to fill the roster yet. I just have a different vision (today), I could flip it to going offense heavy early as well but this is it.

1. Tremain Edmunds LB - VT 6'5 250 Edmunds is too versatile to pass. He can play inside or on the edge. Remember Clay Matthews in his prime moving all along the front and always sacking Cutler. This is how I envision Fangio using Edmunds. This is a disruptive playmaker the D needs to become top 5. This is not about adding a great sound ILB which can be had with Smith, but a guy that is a chess piece offenses try to anticipate. 2a. Sam Hubbard OLB/DE - Ohio St 6'5 270 Drafttek has the Bears selecting him also, like Edmunds and it makes sense. Hubbard is not a flashy player but he will do his job 110%. He is a football player and will probably be a long term solid starter. My take is he will become the Justin Smith. Be able to play OLB or DE as the fronts change through a game. If the Bears go this route, I hope they move down a few slots and gain an extra pick in the draft. or 2b. Lorenzo Carter OLB/DE GA 6'5 250 Carter would continue with the speed theme if they decide to go that route. Similar to Floyd, adding more speed would help disrupt timing in this passing league. 4. Brandon Parker OT NCAT 6'8" 305 Parker has LT potential with good footwork and size. He is a somewhat a work in progress, but might not be a long project. Parker who knows Cohen from college would adapt well and could push Leno at LT in a year or replace Massie on the right. 4. Equanimeous St. Brown WR ND 6'5" 204 St. Brown is under valued due to ND's horrendous QB play. He is a polished route runner with size/speed. He gives the Bears a big outside WR to play opposite of Robinson. 5. Josh Adams RB ND 6'2 213 Late round prospect that can contribute running or catching. 6. Brandon Facyson CB VT 6'1 203 Cover corner to develop and depth 7. Alex Cappa OT Humboldt St 6'6 305 Double dipping of OT's especially ones that are capable to playing LT. I think Cappa would make a decent LG and for a late RD flier, it is worth a shot.

I wanted to keep him since the Bears have 24 million in cap yet. It comes down to his injury imo and how much he sees the field for that 5.4m guarantee. Nagy will have to be creative to get the personal we have on the field as it is. I believe it will be mainly 2 TE sets. Robinson WR, Burton TE, Leno LT, Kush LG, Whitehair C, Long RG, Massie RT, Sims TE, Gabriel WR, Trubisky QB, and Howard RB. Rotation group A: Shaheen TE, Cohen RB, White WR. Group B: Brown TE, Cunningham RB, Rookie WR.
-
Pace surely would not let him go for nothing like he did Alshon. He is either returning the same stunt Loomis pulled on him when we tried stealing Josh Hill TE and Loomis came back last minute or totally miscalculated his worth and refuses to overspend a little.
-
I agree and don't see Gabriel being on the field as much with the TE group we have. I think we will run out of 2 or 3 TE sets making Burton as a slot often.
-
My money is on a trade down with New England and we take Rashan Evans LB and G Isaiah Wynn.
-
Actually, Gabriel is not a slot WR. He lines up more outside. Meredith on the other hand is more of a slot. To think of it, Pace is probably pissed he could have re-signed Wright since he signed with Minny for 1 year at 1 million.
-
They may not sign him, I hope they do though. He is the type who will grow into a clutch WR. Former QB who understands what he has to learn. I am not one bit upset they didn' put a 2nd rd tender on him unless a team would sign him and give it up. Wasn't happening though, Pace knew it and knew he could spoil the relationship by low balling him 2.9 million on a 1 yr deal. The kid wants a paycheck and some stability.
-
Agree, it is a little steep though. I think he is an ascending type of player, so I would not want to see him succeed in another uniform. Food for thought, the Bears a few years back signed Saints TE Josh Hill to an offer sheet. This forced the Saints to decide on over spending or lose him. Little pay dirt on Pace I guess, what goes around comes around.
-
Two Guards I wouldn't mind is Isaiah Wynn Georgia round 2. He played LT and is a little short there for NFL, but would make a great replacement for Sitton at LG. The other prospect I like is Wyatt Teller G VT, he is a projected 4th or 5th Rd and might take a year to get up to speed. I still think Morgan or Kush makes the jump and does well, but if we reach in the draft I like these two behind Nelson.
