I do see your point. Still, i do believe that $ is the final decider.
Also, who has "Urlacher's word held persuasive weight." with? Are we after someone that Url has counseled to go elsewhere?
Agree that LBs, particularly this off season, are available. A top flight MLB would obviously be a boon, but you're right about DL and also with a solid DB corp we should be fine.
Agree on Scott signing because his options are limited.
But what "all-stars searching for a new team" are we now looking at? And I have don't think that "word" from Url or anyone else makes one bit of difference. $ is the key. If we got the $ they will come.
Watched them since Ed O, Billy Wade and the 1963 championship. And yes, I'm a Bear pessimist. But I do think that Url is not what he used to be. Did I want him back? Hell yes. But, as Ditka said, this too shall pass.
I am leaning in your direction Connorbear. Yeah, Url finishing a Bear would be icing on the cake. But it is a business and he's 35 with problem legs. If 2.5 mil is a "slap in the face" we really are warped.
I know its a business, but please! I just couldn't see him in any division rivals uni. I'd just have to boo him, and I wouldn't like that.
Oops, double post
Don't forget that Louis also played RT for a while. So the interest in FA OGs is a bit of a surprise, but indicates the new regime has a plan for the OL.
Wait. I'm confused: first he wants to retire 'cause Lovie is gone. Now he wants traded 'cause Lovie & co. didn't use him correctly. But Lovie's gone, so what does this kid want?
Keep in mind that our new DC does have experience with the 3-4. So there is a possibility that we see some packages. And yes, personnel-wise we don't have the guys, now. . . .
