I think They were covering themselves in case Jenkins didn't work out. They boldly turned the job over to Teven w/o having a solid backup. Figuring Moses could handle the LT spot. He probably balked at not having a defined position, maybe IT or maybe the right side

A lot of people are down with expectations because of a shaky QB situation but I think this is more of a 2018 team than the last two yrs. RBs is absolutely a strength. I think Pace fixed the Oline (finally) and have given us a WR room that could be one of the best in the league. TE has a potential top 10 TE in Kmet. And with Fields and Dalton, the best potential in yrs. I think the D with come back and be a top 10 defense this yr. That all tells me , a 11-12 win season and capable of a playoff run.

If they were in play to start the plan to move, it would at least 5 yrs before that could happen anyways, so for a 4 billion dollar project, as Connor stated, that is a drop in the bucket. They would make that up in the first yr of existence because of new revenue. Another thing to consider, is with the aging owners of the team. The democrats are going to change the tax laws so if Virginia dies, they will have to come up with millions of dollars to pay the inheritance tax. That will force them to sell the team. So they might as well stay ahead of that and get some proven revenue streams to help with the tax problem that will come in the near future. Everybody always feels nostalgic when talking about changes but modern Bears are traditional a losing team. One trip to the SB since 1985 , screw tradition. Lets move forward and find new heroes and hopefully Fields becomes that guy. I became a bears fan watching Dick Butkus. He couldnt play in the modern era of football because he hurt people in every game and would be banned from the league.

If the weather is moderate, no doubt. I was there for a lot of below Zero weather games, it cant be fun to be hit in that weather.

I agree we are setup to have a potent offense. I think the Oline is going to turn in to a strength by the end of the season. Dont overlook our running game either.
-
Its a no brainer. Easier to get to , put in a retractable roof, weather wont be a problem anymore. I was a season ticket holder for 3 yrs and it was a bad experience going to a game because the traffic sucked so bad. Close to Ohara- Rosemount- Schaumburg. PLUS they will set it up to have tailgating as a much better experience. You wont have to walk 3 miles to get to the stadium.

Was looking over our team speed at WR and RB Goodwin 4.27 Bryd 4.25 A Miller 4.38 Mooney 4.38 Rodney Adams 4.38 Tarek Cohen 4.44 Damien Williams 4.45 Justin Fields 4.44 We are now one of the faster teams in the league on offense.

Trevathan is friends with him and said there isn't going to be a problem.

Good insurance if the rookie isn't ready. Had 25 tackles last year as a backup in KC.
-
Bears brass place bid on Arlington Heights land purchase.
-
Hopefully all of this works out. Always is better to have positive vibes than negative.
-
Mike Pennel just turned 30 was a backup with KC last year with 25 tackles. 6-4 330. A large man.

I had read last year when he opted out , he had a premature baby and was worried that the covid my endanger his newborn. Also , I think he wife had a health problem that made him more venerable to the virus. Im not sure of his dedication to the game about being there this year, but maybe he is waiting for his vaccine shots,, Nagy said they talked to him 2 days ago but wasnt definite about anything.

Olin Kreutz was cohost on the SCORE this morning. My favorite ex Bear right now.
-
He was good in 2016-17 , a little younger than Trevathan. Had injuries in 19-20.

5 players have been invited for tryouts this week at the Bears minicamp. Chicago has welcomed five players to minicamp on a tryout basis, which includes former Michigan tight end Jake Butt. Also in attendance are defensive back E.J. Gaines, tight end Sal Cannella, offensive lineman Tyrone Wheatley Jr. and defensive lineman Michael Pennel.

Ertz cap hit to Philly will be 12.5 for the current year if he stays in there. 8.5 mil is his this year salary. I think if traded we would only have to pay the salary. Not sure. No one is trading for TE with that kind of a salary with his recent injury history. If they cut him they get to save 8.5 towards their cap. If we can pick him up on a 1 yr 5 mil. GO FOR IT
-
I gave the wrong info on Wheatley, he invited in for a tryout, not signed.
-
We released TE Darien Clark today, freeing up a roster spot.
-
I think ARob won't be staying unless he sees 20 mil a year. To many WRs getting big money.
-
Between Robinson and Adams, who would you take if you had the choice? I would need to see Adams w/o Rodgers. ARob has been a good player with shitty QBs. They are possession type wrs.
-
We're in a whole different place with Fields. If they can't resign ARob then they will be definitely be going after a WR. Hicks and Trevathan will probably be gone, so we will have some holes to fill.
-
Something to think about. Read an article on Devante Adams and this is his last year under contract. If Rodgers is gone, should he play under a worst QB? or hold out to get his money before he plays this year? If he has a bad yr because of a bad QB, that could cost him 5 mil a year when he goes after a new contract. That would be awesome he Rodgers leaves and Adams holds out for a contract extension.
-
The Bears sign another OT. Tyrone Wheatley Jr. to a contract. Had a lackluster college career at Michigan. It seems they want more competition at OT.
-
Actually I think first round picks are slotted money so the only difference is some language points of the contract. He's focused on playing football. That's a good trait.
