Bears draft Sam Roush, TE at 69
How did all of us perceive lasts year draft last year? You and I are like minded, we need to trust what they are doing and why they picked who they picked when they picked them. If they end up with Dennis-Sutton or Gracen Halton at a later round, good for them. I like Kaleb Proctor and would have been happy if drafted in the second round and he is still there. This still has room to fill needs we all agree on.

This is Ben Johnson’s team
Totally agree. The scouting dept brings the players and then Ben and Ryan sort out their needs and create a board. They are sticking to their board, not fan and pundit perception of values of players. I was disappointed last year after the draft and boom, best draft in a very long time and its not done paying dividends. Clearly BJ states what he wants, this draft as well as last year, push for a dominating offense. They attribute a bad defense last year to injuries and not all players fit DAs scheme. I think they may have drafted Jacas but he went two picks before 57 and then would have drafted Jones with 60. It didnt work out. Drafted Jones and moved back for the next guy on their board. This is not over and we have to see how it turns out. Then UDFAs and a second wave of free agents. If they dont get who they wanted, then you may see Cam Jordan, DJ Reader, several options still available. That is the point you see these type of players signed after they didnt fill their needs in the draft.

Bears trade 60 for 69 (3rd) and 144 (5th)
The bears dont ask the fans who they should take and when they should take them. We have to see how it plays out. After last years draft, I was very disappointed and ended up being our best draft in a very long time.

Best Available Day 2
All of this will pass and this year we will go to the SB and look back and say how smart they were. (hopefully)

Best Available Day 2
As fans we think they need DL, edge prospects , and a S. A LT and center. They know what they have and what they wanted. This drafting team killed the draft last year. Lets give them some Kudos on they know what they are doing.

Pick 89, Zavion Thomas, WR, LSU
Look at the picks from their point of view. They got a stud S that fits their scheme. They drafted a 8 yr starting center with pro bowl potential. They drafted a killer blocking TE that the Bears will fit in their scheme. They drafted a speed merchant WR that have return experience. BJ will scheme plays for him.

Pick 89, Zavion Thomas, WR, LSU
The Bears are strategically building there team. They know what they are doing, Im just a a fan with limited knowledge that thinks I am smarter than I am.

Pick 89, Zavion Thomas, WR, LSU
He has 4.28 speed.

I just posted it, Adam just delete mine.

Round 2, Pick 57, Logan Jones, C
Here is The Beast profile on Jones. His comp with several pundits is Drew Dalman. If he's our upscale C for 8 yrs, Im all in. Jones is an undersized, sawed-off blocker with aggressive technique and athletic ability, although his sustain struggles might be tough to overcome. A center-only prospect, he is a mid-round version of Linderbaum.

Bears draft Sam Roush, TE at 69
Here is The Beast profile on Sam. Roush isn’t without his warts, but he offers a traditional Y tight end skill set — competitiveness to handle dirty work as a blocker and athleticism to be a functional underneath target. He has the makeup and toughness to quietly become an integral part of an NFL offense.

Bears draft Sam Roush, TE at 69
Last year, I was bewildered when they took Loveland and Burden, I wanted different players. How did that turn out? Trust them until it shows they made a mistake.

Bears trade 60 for 69 (3rd) and 144 (5th)
None of these picks make sense to me now, but we have to see what the team looks like at training camp. Last year people questioned Loveland and Burden picked where they were and how did that turn out.

Bears draft Sam Roush, TE at 69
As long as they get good players, I trust their judgement. NFL teams have tons of more info than fans do and just rate players differently., With drafting a C and a TE that tells me they are strengthening the OL and know they have a LT on the team already. I dont think they are trading Kmet, they just restructured his contract.

Bears trade 60 for 69 (3rd) and 144 (5th)
The Bears like their own roster . They expect Dayo back, Turner back and other people on the roster we arent counting on. Surprise , surprise.

Bears trade 60 for 69 (3rd) and 144 (5th)
The next pick will be a surprise name and not be people we expected.

Bears trade 60 for 69 (3rd) and 144 (5th)
I liked Jacas a lot and we will never will know if the Bears were going to take them. The early pick at C bums me out but as long we draft good football players, my opinion isnt a big deal. In 3 yrs Jones could be a pro bowler , everything is not judged on initial response.

Round 2, Pick 57, Logan Jones, C
BJ values the center position and doubled down with as some say is the best center in the draft. With the picks we are seeing it tells me the Bears place more value with existing players than fans and pundits do. If they arent rushing for DEs and DTs it makes a statement. I have to give you credit for your prospect eye. Marlin Klein was the third TE off the board and most pundits had him rated around the 10th rated TE. You mentioned him a long time ago and the NFL agreed with you. Kudos to you.

Im not saying both cant be correct at the same time. Its not one or the other. Many people can have the same opinions, as well as how the Bears see it. The Bears dont have control of the board,, they will let players fall to them, or at a reasonable price move up. We just have our opinions and guesses.

Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
Everyone of those did play CB. Its how the Bears rate their board, not how pundits rated players.

I like his is a blue player , can be more than just a starter. A star

Best Available Day 2
Yes, all the fans and pundits can have different opinions that do not match what the bears pick. I think one of those fall, but maybe move 4 or 5 picks up that doesnt cost to much.

Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
Yes , players with versatile with fit the scheme. Jason Kilgore, Kinoite Scott and Treydan Stukes could play CB, SS, FS, and NB. I would not be surprised if we picked one of them instead of a straight CB.

Best Available Day 2
I like the PFF draft Scott is totally flexible, NB, CB, SS or FS. sign me up.

With several good players still at DT and DE, we should get two good players in the second round. I think its possible we trade back with one of those picks.
