  1. I think Albert's rise has not been because teams view him as a guard, but rather teams are viewing him as in fact a tackle.
  2. I think this send him from a possible 3rd round pick down the 4-5 range. He's still a lot better then a whole lot of the lesser QB's in this draft.
  3. anyone know what the Thanksgiving games are?
  4. They're the same type of player though...
  5. after these are announced, I'm going to work on my mock drafts. A 1 rounder w/ trades, a 3 rounder w/o trades, and my bears mocked based on those.
  6. eh, we already have a guy who can't run inside the tackles but can catch in Wolfe. That's pretty much what Johnson is, except more athletic, bigger, and better. Jamaal Charles, maybe, but he can't block and doesn't know how to hold onto the ball.
  7. well, it's still not official about him "losing a step" and it has just been a bunch of rumors basically... it hasn't been confirmed, but then again it hasn't been denied.
  8. The 2nd round pick would be this year... but no team is going to think McGowan is worth a 2nd rounder.
  9. Well, it seems like super fans can't see it, but admin's can... my assumption is that it is a feature that is blocked out to superfans, so it has to be unblocked...?
  10. I don't see it either.
  11. well, yeah Johnson is bigger, but Robinson is a beast on the field and is just better IMO. Plus, I think Robinson will play LG in NFL whereas Johnson projects to more of a road grader RG or RT.
  12. that's a sick video...
  13. I wish there was a delete post button here... oh well.
  14. Tim Tebow ain't going top 5. His is a bad passer, with bad mechanics. Sure, he can get away with that in college with all the talent he has to work and within that system, but he ain't a franchise QB. At best, he will be a poor man's Vince Young. Hopefully if we get that franchise LT this year, we can then get the man-beast Duke Robinson next year.
  15. I think Ware and especially Merriman would be DE's in our system. Ware, could probably play SAM in our system.
  16. Most people either don't realize this or don't know, but Benson was a much better prospect then Mendenhall coming out. He was considered a sure thing as well. Just throwing that out there.
  17. How about a realistic one? Long and Mendenhall are top 5/6 picks, and Clady is already taken by one of the Chiefs, Broncos, or Panthers. 1. Jeff Otah 2. Chris Williams 3. Branden Albert 4. Trade Down (Cherilus + extra 2nd rounder) 5. Rashard Mendenhall 6. Devin Thomas 7. Limas Sweed 8. Kenny Phillips
  18. I know I'm in a huge minority here, but Benson deserves one more shot without a revolving door at both LG and RT. I know, his punk ass attitude pisses of a lot of people, myself included, but our best option would be to fix the OLine and hope Benson returns to Texas form. I agree that RB is a need, but it shouldn't be addressed any earlier then round 3, if that. Everything begins and ends with the OLine. If you look at all the great teams in the past, their success was mainly dependent on the OLine play. A great OLine keeps the QB upright with plenty of time to throw, and open up holes for even the shitiest RB to average 4 ypc. Everything else is overrated compared to the OLine.
  19. It's kinda tough to fix the OLine through free agency when most of the free agent OLinemen were nothing special, and the good ones signed for ridiculous amounts (see Faneca for example). RB's can be easily found. Look at Grant for the Packers and Graham for the Buccs, and any RB who has ever ran behind the Broncos OLine for the past 15 years or so. Good OLinemen turn mediocre/bad RB's into good running backs... Good running backs turn bad OLinemen into nothing. Simple fact... YOU CAN'T RUN IF PEOPLE ARE IN HE BACKFIELD BEFORE YOU GET THE BALL! Mendenhall will likely be there at 14, but would be a wasted pick behind this shit OLine. We not only need a new starter at tackle, but also at LG. Drafting Mendenhall at 14 will be, simply put, stupid. Especially when you consider all the needs of this team.

    New Mock

that would be a real good mock. LG is a much more crucial spot then RT, IMO, and Albert has the potential to be a top LG and also eventually LT, so there is that versatility. I like Barry Richardson in the 4th as well. With a year or two of just developing, he can become an average/above average starter at RT in this league, IMO. Flacco in the 2nd, very nice. However, I have heard that the Falcons absolutely love Flacco, but then again that could be a smoke screen. Forte, if he is there, would be a great pick in the 3rd. But I have my doubts if he'd actually be there. As for Barrett, I like him, but right now I see the safeties being pretty much set with Manning and Brown the starters, Payne and McGowan as the backup (Payne also makes an impact on ST), and I see Archuletta having the inside track at making the team with his ST ability as well. I see someone like Haruki Nakamura (Bears also did bring him in for a workout/visit) being drafted in the 5th or 6th by us. Someone who can compete, but if they don't make the team, it's not that big of a deal. I'd probably go with a WR or DT there. As for the rest of the draft, I'd pass on any corners unless the value is great. Stewart would be a good pick that late. I'd probably also try and bring in at least 2 UT's.
  21. http://www.cbs47.com/content/topstories/st...bd-e87f665c4b63 Heath was one of the best small school prospects in the draft and was one my favorites in the draft. I thought he would have been a real good fit for the Bears in the later part of round 3 as someone who can compete at RT/RG. Sadly, he has died. RIP and condolences to his family. Hopefully he died of some sort of natural cause, because you never want to see a guy ruin his name by dying from drugs and/or alcohol.
