-Said he would do some things differently in Denver, like talking to Bowlen more in depth. Said he thinks Denver would also do a lot differently. -Said he knows there's going to be pressure. -Said he's happy for Eli on his new payday and gave a "I'm going to get mine too" laugh. There might be a longer version on the night edition of SC but I'm not sure.

I've neve put to much faith in these things, but damn they seemed to hit the nail on the head. Particularly when they say, "Has had some off-the-field issues. Does he love playing the game of football? Will he work hard enough at it in the NFL?" and also, "there are some lingering concerns about his character, attitude and speed that make him a potential disappointment at the next level." Wow. I hope Angelo starts reading these things. Here's the full pre-draft evaluation from espn.com: Strengths: Is at his best running between the tackles. Has decent quickness and good initial burst. Has patience and vision. Hits the hole hard when he sees it open up. Will …

We got any takers? He is 29 and has had success in the past. He could give us a starter upgrade at LT.

Way back in the offseason someone posted this link where they analyze every play of every game and give a rating for each player. http://www.profootballfocus.com/by_positio...&numgames=1 I took at look at our WR ratings and was surprised to see DA ranked first when select "all" for snaps. DA doesn't have enough time on the field for me to trust any rankings, however, what was more interesting is that Hester is rated as our worst WR. When you consider the whole of the season (leave out DA and Davis) this shows Bennett as being our best WR. Couple things jump out in his stat line: He is our best YAC receiver, 6.7 vs 5.0 for Hester and just…

Same site; this time just select By Team http://www.profootballfocus.com/cstats.php...e=a&stats=o Kreutz is rated far and away as our best Oline. Garza is right behind him. Chris Williams and Orlando Pace are rated so poorly on pass protection it's embarrassing. Pace run blocking rating at -9.0 has to make you wonder why the staff didn't make a move to Shaffer sooner and move Williams back to his more natural left side. Then again, this is Lovie we're talking about so no need to wonder. If you look at OT performance overall Pace ranks and 74th out of 76. Ouch. (Minn OTs aren't rated that highly either, Arizona's are way down there too) It's …

Some interesting data regarding our young signal caller. "Did you know? Mitchell Trubisky threw 39 seam passes in 2017 and was accurate on 28 of them. Only Aaron Rodgers was more accurate on seam throws than he was." More at the link... http://presnapreads.com/2018/03/25/quarter...he-2017-season/

http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/ I was watching his highlight tape on the Bears' site (above link) and I have to admit he has one of the most impressive plays I've seen from an offensive player without the ball. On one TD play at the 37sec mark he gets three blocks, falling down on the last one but gets right up and goes after a 4th block but can't quite get there. I am guessing this is what the Bears saw from him, not so much his inline blocking but his open field blocking. Forte should love this and again, it's one more reason to put the contract difference into an incentive because it is now more likely to be earned. I like what Clutts did for us…

Wow. This guy is inside my head. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl-draft-nee...iNVhg4AVTUnnIlQ I don't like it all, but I agree with the sentiments about which positions are needed.

Even in offseason, it's a marathon not a sprint I was surprised the Bears were not listed as one of the five teams who have been very quiet in FA. Instead it centered on GBP, MIN, SDC, KCC & ATL. Still, it is interesting that the article sort of supports JA's approach to FA. I have no doubt our needs will be addressed. There are a good number of players who will be signing on the cheap who will be good additions. JA like many are just unwilling to overpay for a FA that once he gets his fat check will disappear. Once we have our March mini camp (when is it?) and evaluate our team, see who we pick up in the draft, we will make the necessary moves. Also let's…

First of all don't get me wrong. I am thrilled we are still in the playoff picture, and savor a close win against the number 1 offense in the league, but... We need to fire both turner and babich after this season. I mean c'mon 4 minutes in regulation, you're up by 4 and 3 straight passes??? Even a 8 year old playing madden with this team would run the damn ball under those circumstances. Then there's ole babich. I think the announcers collinsworth and the other dude said it best before the game, and I quote... Same faces from the dominant defense we had a few years ago went on to say urlacher, brown, ogun, brown, briggs, and tillman, but we are not dominating the …

You are in the war room and Mike Adams and Michael Floyd are available at the 19th pick. What's your pick. I would take Floyd over Adams because I believe he is a higher rated prospect than Adams but Floyd can't get the ball if Cutler is on his back.

Guess the first 14 picks of the draft, thought it would be fun and the winner can post how awesome he is and how everyone else can bow down. (Just for fun) P.S. you can add trades, however you don't have to say what they're giving up, just throw out the order and the pick. (guessing what they'd give up would make it a little harder, but you can if you want) guess the 2nd 3rd and 4th rd picks for a tie breaker. I'll start: Miami - J. Long if anyone screws this one up let me know and I'll have grouchy hit you with a tack hammer cause you're a moron. St Louis - Last night I said G. Dorsey, but my opinion has changed - C. Long Atlanta - G. Dorsey Oak - Darr…

PFF ranks us second to worst in pass blocking (6th best at run block, though). The bottom 3 on pass blocking: Long, Bushrod, Mills in that order. Mills being the worst as well as PFF's worst tackle in football. He leads the league in QB hurries surrendered by a fairly large margin; Bushrod is 10th worst and Mills has allowed twice as many. Slauson has been our best lineman, according to their stats, with nobody else having a markedly positive impact. Jay getting the ball out so quickly is what's making this line look so good....If we move on from Jay it's gotta be someone who gets rid of the ball just as quick as he does. I don't have the stats at hand, I stole …

HOPEFULLY, Orton will be healthier and better able to plant come next week against the Vikings - the true/actual "make or break" game on the Bears schedule. The Rams are a mess, yet Orton and the Bear passing game has been getting worse as the game has worn on - not unlike the Packer game. Orton can't plant and has been inaccurate on many downfield throws. Additionally, the receivers, look pretty pedestrian. This is fine against the Rams, but the Vikings will score repeatedly next week, the only shot the Bears have is a pre-injury type performance from Orton.

http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/10/om...nch_having.html Per the stats, our OL has only given up 11 sacks, which ranks right at the middle of the league. Everyone has talked about how solid Denver's OL is, and yet Orton has been sacked only two fewer times than Cutler. So that must mean our OL is average in pass protection, right? Further, that stats show Omiyale has only given up a 1/2 sack this season. That sounds pretty dang good. Omiyale must be an upper tier OG, right? Kind of cracks me up. One stat I would be curious about is how many QB pressures and QB hits each OL has given up.
