The skill of the players has overcome inept coaching for the last few years. It is so clear to see out on the field. Nagy replaced Trubisky with Foles and now after a few games, it is clear that QB was not the problem. If Nagy is unwilling to have someone else take over playcalling and admit fault (which started in KC), he needs to be fired. If he is willing to do that, then he can stay on as the HC. Otherwise, I am done with him. I don't care about the record, we are underachieving.

Since we have a Fire Nagy thread, I think we should make one for the GM that should have been fired a year ago. The case for firing Ryan Pace: 1. Awful in the first round: He had 4 top 10 picks and whiffed on three of them(White, Floyd, Trubisky) 2. Failed trades: Pace has traded draft capital for the following players: Trubisky, Mack, Miller, Montgomery, Foles All of the players he has traded for have been either inconsistent(Miller, Mack, Montgomery) or bad(Trubisky, Foles) 3. Contract disputes with the Bears best players: The fact that he couldn't get extensions done with Fuller and Robinson is inexcusable. Transition taggin…

1. Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina ---This is a typical Lovie pick. He's a guy who could play some DT as well as DE; he's flying up draft boards. With Idonije being a FA at year's end, Peppers aging, and Wooton being useless, this pick makes sense. It also makes sense for another reason: right now, the Bears are 23rd overall in defense. 2. Marvin McNutt, WR, Iowa ---McNutt is tearing up the Big-10. He's the best receiver in the conference and is 6'4" and 215 pounds. He's a definite playmaker and could fill in Roy Williams' spot when he leaves after the season (hopefully). 3. Nate Potter, OT, Boise State ---If he's here this late, this is a steal. He's on…

https://www.chicagobears.com/team/depth-chart At this point there aren't many surprises unless we're still surprised our 5th Rd rookie is listed as a starter at LT. WR: ESB is a starter opposite Mooney. Not a shocker given he knew the offense coming in and to date it appears he's also earned it. Velus and Pringle are listed as #3 and 4. RB: Ebner is listed as 3rd ahead of Darrynton Evans and he seems to make big plays every practice. I'm looking forward to seeing him play. DE: Trevis Gipson is still holding onto a starting job but with AQM making some noise lately we'll see if that holds. The fact Gipson is ahead of a guy who knows the sch…

Might mean nothing, but here are some interesting developments: 1. Loveland and Kmet both as "starters" 2. Jones over Trapilo at starting LT 3. Monangai as RB6, Homer still RB3 4. Duvernay as WR4, Burden WR5 5. Bagent as QB2, Keenum QB3 6. 3x DTs listed as starters (Jarret, Dexter, Billings) 7. Sewell over Hyppolite at LB 8. Stevenson as CB2 over Smith and Wright

Its nice that we are winning, here are my thoughts. 1. Defense has shown up big time tonight. Good coaching and good blitz calls so far. Take away Peterson and make that moron quarterback try to beat us. Good to see Vasher. When our d-coordinator sets them up with good pressure our big cornerbacks are awesome. They come downhill and make big hits and are great at bad balls. Problem comes when the cood leaves them on an island cause they are not the small, fast types. Also stupid penalties on Tillman and Briggs give up the 6 points. 2. Its a broken record but the line still is bad. Penalties again. I've watched Kruetz especially and my complaints re…

Are we already in mock draft territory? I think we are. Here's my first fanspeak mock. 10: R1P10 EDGE ARDEN KEY LSU 42: R2P10 WR CALVIN RIDLEY ALABAMA 112: R4P10 OT JAMARCO JONES OHIO STATE 114: R4P12 CB ADONIS ALEXANDER VIRGINIA TECH 148: R5P10 CB JAMAL PETERS MISSISSIPPI STATE 189: R6P10 G BRADEN SMITH AUBURN I think we'll draft higher than 10, but it's a good place to start. And if it happens like this, I'll be floored. Arden Key is probably the best possible 3-4 OLB available, and I think Ridley is the best WR in the nation. That would be incredible. Following that up with a solid OT is great. Adonis Alexander could easily play safety sinc…

http://myespn.go.com/blogs/hashmarks Dolphins strike first February 29, 2008 7:00 AM When the clock struck midnight, the Dolphins were off and running. Miami signed former 49ers guard Justin Smiley to a five-year, $25 million deal, which includes $9 million in guarantees. Smiley started 49 games in his four seasons with San Francisco. He started the first eight games of the 2007 season before suffering a right shoulder injury and undergoing surgery. Smiley will immediately start for the Dolphins, in part, because he has a pulse. I'm sure Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano talked to his friend George Warhop about Smiley before signing him. Warhop is …

With Allen coming here we are now in play for drafting BPA. That could be many different positions to go for. Donald and Jerrigan are still in play. We have a 32 year old Ratliff as our best DT, enough said. Gilbert comes in to play. He brings a KR/PR skill that we have no totally addressed yet. Plus he is the highest rated CB. CJMosley will also be considered. With a one and done Williams our main squeeze at MLB dont discount the potential to take this player. Offensive player? If he dubs an Ebron/TE or a Cooks/WR as the best player available at our spot,l think he could surprise us with a pick here. I think we still have many spots to fill, FS,…

What are some things you'll be looking for in tonight's game. Hard to believer the preseason is upon us and soon the regular season will be too. I'm hoping my local stations pick up the game. I don't get NFL network. My top item is one I'll have to wait for. I want to see how Trubisky does. I'll be watching how smooth the center QB exchange is and how well he's transitioning from primarily shot gun in college to being under center here. Also how smooth are his drops, his footwork, pocket presence, and accuracy both deep and short. After Mr Butt Fumble, he'll probably look like a breath of fresh air lol. Not sure how much he'll play before Shaw goes in. I'd…

I seen where Charles Leno has only gives up 4 pressures this year, no sacks , no QB hits. He has played Matthews, Jones and Jason Pier-Paul, I would have to say he has done well. Blair Nichols, RHH, Bullard, and Arron Lynch are good players. Goldman, Mack are studs, Smith and Floyd have played well. We have a lot to look forward to on the D.

Going by #1 need, I'd say Clady. I'd truly think about McFadden/Mendenhall really hard though.
