Fields has 17 games to prove that he is H1M. I feel like he needs to show that in at least 75% of the games, or show some progress in those games. Right now he is 0/1, 0.0% on the season. He still has a lot of season left, but getting down 0/2 would be a big hole to dig out from. Every game that he starts, he basically sets a new record of futility at that amount of games started.

To start things off, great game last night! You can tell what a well built team looks like. Watching the game from our perspective, tells me that we are not ready yet. Jackson posted several cryptic messages on social media, but all allude to him being gone from Chicago. So there is the first domino and Whitehair is probably next. Those moves will open up a ton of cap space and now we can project the need for a new FS in free agency or in the draft. Eddie started out hot, got paid and hurt. So I was looking back as far as the 2017 draft to see where QBs were slotted on the Draft Big Boards prior to the drafts. This one site takes a collection of most major big boards on the internet and collates them into a consensus board. I really like this as it takes out some biases and other factors. Some big boards are BPA, others are sort of slotted like their projected draft positions. It makes me sick that the Bears drafted Trubisky, AND traded up for him no less. There's a lot to talk about in the coming year but lets look at the good things that's happened in his first two years He took a terrible cap situation and turned that around in one year. We had the most cap space last year and top 9 this year. I think he cuts Whitehair and Jackson and adds 20 mil to our cap putting us top 5 . That's a win win. So looking at cap space and draft capital this offseason. The Bears are in such a rare position, it may be almost unprecedented. The team has the #1 pick, potentially a second top 10 pick, and over $60M in cap space. Right now, there are 8 teams who are already over the cap with their 2024 contracts. Man what a collapse in the second half. Detroit absolutely blew it against SF. I was rooting for the Lions as I know their fan base has suffered a lot, even more than we have. He was run game coordinator under Carrol in Seattle, and worked with Waldron there. The staff is filling out really nicely! And unlike the first wave of hires, these people all had a specific connection to Waldron, so the chemistry is known already. Hopefully Morton has the juice to make Waldron run the ball more than he did previously. Just thought it'd be fun to do some mocks and post em here... Drop your mock and make some mentions.... This one I did, I'm not really sure if we could realistically trade Whitehair or Mooney, but I did. My overall premise was to move past JF1, and grab the swing at the fence of Caleb. Seems after doing that, the top WR's dried up. So, I went Edge. Nabbed our C, S, G, DT, and TE. Also got some depth at LB, HB, CB, and OT. So I saw a thread on Twitter on how SB winning teams have never had a QB that took more than 15% of the cap in any year to date. Which is odd considering most of the SBs were won by Brady, Roethlisberger, Mahomes, and Flacco over the last 20 years.
