I started the league a little earlier as I will traveling for the next few weeks and didn't want to wait until then to get this up and running. https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/81323?pspid=782200906&activity=league 9 out of 10 teams confirmed for this year before the end of last season, with one team in need of a new GM (drafting 4th). I will need to re-confirm with those 9 and bring on one new GM. So if anyone is interested in joining our Keeper league, just let me know. Current League Fields of Dreams (Adam) MotM (Steve) Nips&Tips (JTCStone) Nopper (Bill) PapaBear (Kam) SAVAGEw/LOOSEMORALS! (Brad) The Bunny…

Serious question. The idea here is if the Bears decide to go all-in offensively. What do they need to be a top unit?

Some fairly impressive numbers from the Bears defense. In general, they are clearly better than last year and have improved even more since players got healthy and the acquisition of Sweat. Both Sweat and Edwards are playing at Pro Bowl levels. #1 against the Run (79 yds/game) #3 Interceptions (13) #9 Total Yards Allowed (318 yds/game) #11 Turnovers (20) #16 Passes Defended (50) #19 Defensive DVOA (last season they finished #32) #22 against the Pass (248yds/game) TJ Edwards #2 in tackles (125), also has 2 sacks, 2 INT, and 1 FF Jaylon Johnson #7T in interceptions (3) Montez Sweat #12 in sacks (9), (4g, 2.5 sack…

  4. The Bears and the Falcons, cue the Spiderman meme. Both teams are super inconsistent week in and week out. The Falcons beat the Colts 29-10, a week after losing to the Panthers 9-7. They beat GB 25-24 but lost to WAS 24-16. They beat TB 16-13, but lost to ARZ 25-23. They may be the most jekyll and hyde team in the NFL. Both teams still in the hunt with ATL at 7-8 looking to get to .500 while the Bears are hanging on by a Bear claw at 6-9, looking to get to 7-9. The Flus defense is a lot like the Colts who just got torched. The O/U is only 38. I expect it to be over 40. I am going to say Bears 24-18 (Bears can't win when opponents scores more than 21)…

Crazy to think these are the only teams the Bears lost to (see below). The worst teams are GB and MIN that play each other tonight. So the only one team that Fields lost to will go into Week 18 under .500, and 3 of those losses were the collapses. DET 11-5 (collapse) CLE 11-5 (collapse) KC 10-6 (early season loss) TB 8-8 (early season loss) DEN 8-8 (collapse) (early season loss) GB 7-8 (early season loss) MIN 7-8 (Fields injury game) NO 8-8 (Bagent) LAC 5-10 (Bagent) In hindsight, this looks a lot better than I thought. 4 playoff teams, with at least 2 fringe playoff teams, meaning only the losing team tonight was the only really "weak"…

  7. Started by adam,

Yes, there is still a chance. It is basically win out or nothing. The Bears have to leapfrog 5 of these 6 teams: SEA, MIN, GB, LAR, NO, TB. Based on projections, all of them could finish 8-9. So if the Bears finished 8-9, they would have to win a bunch of tiebreakers with 5 of those teams which is extremely unlikely. So chances of making the playoffs going 4-1 and finishing 8-9 are probably around 10% (if that one loss is to CLE). Now if the win out and finish 9-8, there is probably a 75% chance they make the playoffs. ATL is currently a division leader and plays TB, CHI, and NO from the in the hunt teams. If Bears win out, they are beating ATL which would g…

I love Justin Fields and think he is going to be a good QB. I woke up listening to the SCORE this morning and the sports DJ , a former Chicago guy, now working in Cleveland has made the best case for our QB situation. 4042-26-5. That is a good season for a QB. Alex Smith was a good QB and KC drafted Mahomes anyways. He sat him for a yr and then Mahomes got his shot. Poles came from KC. No matter how you want to look at it Justin , he is not going to be Joe Burrows, Williams has the chance to do that. You dont have to hate Justin Fields like half the fan base to think another QB can be better. The DJ used Baker Mayfield as an example, Cleveland drafted him to be the …

Flus was hired by Poles, the outside noise is get a new coach but nothing has come from inside with that tone. Flus has shown growth with the defense but the offense still has a lot to be desired. The offense is Gesty's baby and he will be gone. Flus is not perfect but he's new to the job and has the team vitialized with a long losing streak. The loses are bad but Poles won't hold Flus responsible for his first season, he gutted the roster. In the last 6 games we are 4 and 2 . In a coaching world that's progress. Stability is never established by constantly making changes. With a new QB, and new OC, the winning will get more consistent. IF we win out 8-9 that's a huge t…

This guy has quietly put together his best season as a pro. 70 receptions, 678 yards, and 6 TDs. Receptions and yards are already a career high with 2 games left. Yesterday was his first career 100-yard game and he did it only playing the first half. Right now he is 7th amongst TEs in receptions, and 28th in the NFL overall. For yards, he is 8th amongst TEs. So he clearly is a top 10 TE, and it feels like he still has some room to grow as a receiver.

  11. I found an article on WindyCityGridiron.com: Chicago Bears 10 Positions of Need in 2024, non QB edition It lists 10 positions of need, not including QB in the argument. These all have been discussed on the forum by our posters, but it is a nice breakdown with reasons behind the selections. Good arguments were made for each position listed. If Poles could fill all of these with quality starters, we will be a playoff team. (Assuming we have the Coaching Staff to maximize the roster's ability.) 10. Back-up Safety 9. Interior Offensive Line Depth 8. Back-up Tight End 7. Wide Receiver 3 6. Punt Returner 5. Safety 4. Edge 3. Cen…

  13. Cards are 2-3 in their last 5, Murray is back, McBride (TE) is having a huge year, Conner is very solid on the ground. Bears are favored by 4.5, which says Vegas likes them this week. I am going Bears 24-17 which hurts the Bears draft position and helps the Cards stay close to the Panthers. The Bears normally beat bad teams.

  14. The Bears head to Cleveland to face Joe Flacco. The line is only +3, so Vegas considers this an even game. People are talking about the Browns defense, but I'm confused. They just allowed 27, 36, and 29 in the last 3 games. Before this last game where they scored 31, they hadn't broken 20 in the 3 previous games. So their offense doesn't look that good. In their last game, Lawrence threw 3 INTs and the Jags had 4 turnovers but Cleveland has 3 of their own. So it was a sloppy game. If the same Bears team shows up, I am going Bears 23-13 in a low scoring affair where the Bears score late to put it out of reach. On offense, they need to double Garr…

I listen to the Score everyday during football season ,lots of football talk. Steve Rosenbloom repeated a great idea. Cant stand Rosenbloom or Bernstien , they both are arrogant, think there always right and negative Nellys. Trade Fields for Tomlin. (see Clab Williams thread). Its been suggested the owner wants a fresh start in Pittsburgh with a new coach. Tomlin has a great winning record but hasnt won a playoff gme since 2017. Tomlin is a coach Bears fans would love. Who knows if there is any legs to that rumor but its nice to think about.

This season the Bears had the NFC South and the AFC West, next season they get the AFC South and NFC West. It feels like a fairly even schedule. The Bears get 9 home games next season, which is nice. Here are the current non-division games: @SF, JAX, @IND, @HOU, LAR, SEA, TEN, @ARZ, WAS, NE, CAR I know we don't know what some teams will look like, but to make the playoffs next year, the Bears would need at least 6-7 wins from this group. So CAR, NE, WAS, ARZ, and TEN seem like highly likely wins. They would need 1-2 from SEA, LAR, HOU, IND, and JAX. What do you think? I feel like that is very reasonable and the odds should have the Bears favored in at least 6 of…

Of all the position groups, this one has to be one of the most disappointing ones. Outside of Moore's god given talent, has any other player from this group done anything positive this year? Like for me, they have all been net negatives, Claypool, Mooney, Velus, and Scott. St. Brown has barely played this year so I don't even count him and his lack of availability is a negative. There was the Claypool stuff that started from the day he arrived until he left. Zero accountability both on and off the field. Then there is Velus Jones, who never developed into anything near his draft status, he basically drops passes or fumbles returns. Tyler Scott was a later draft…
