After the first quarter of the season, we are through the toughest part of the schedule, which was expected. Most had us at 1-3 after 4 anyway. Now it seems like we shift into an easier quarter of the season, currently scheduled to play teams with a combined record of 5-10. We should at least split, if not go 3-1 in the next 4. That would put us between 3-4 at the halfway point. Then we go into a tougher quarter playing teams 11-5, and 1 win seems to be the most realistic outcome (though we could split depending on what STL team shows up). Here is what we have left, if we show any additional improvement, and get some guys back off injury, we actually have a shot at the playoffs, but the next 3 games will be critical. @ STL (4-4) - winnable game, STL defense is tough, and Gurley has emerged, however, we are better against the run than the pass, so this plays into our defensive strengths, and if Forte and Royal are back, we have great shot with our offense. vs DEN (7-1) - Denver's defense has masked just how bad the offense and Manning have been. Right now, with current records, we only have one game vs a prospective playoff team (LAR), and 3 games against potential playoff teams (GB and MIN x2). If we split the division and go 3-2 the rest of the way, beat the teams with 2 or less wins (BUF, SF, NYG) and lose to LAR, that's 6-3 the rest of the way without too much stretching. Week 9 at BUF (2-5) - Bills are coming off a MNF game and a short week. They have scored 81 pts on the season in 7 games. We should and need to dominate this game. Probably a bad time to do this after a bad game but I have a lot of free time in Thailand. First of all as much as Nagy and Pace has a bad year but there not going anywhere. So trying to create that chaos is a waste of time. For 2020 we have 12.5 in cap space. 1. Cut Long saves us 8 mil. The rest of the line isn't going anywhere cap hits would be terrible for them. 2. This all starts with our new coaching staff. They all look like studs and we will have to see how that translates to the football field but the arrow is pointing up. Everything we did is contingent on Trubisky being good, the signs say he could be real good. At least we upgraded the talent around him. QB-we appear to have more competent backups this year with Daniels and Bray ( we will find out if MT goes down) RB-Howard , Cohen, Cunningham, Mizzell, Nall Howard will excel in this offense and Cohen will be a star because Nagy will use him properly. I bitched when we dumped David Terrell because he was our #1 WR & we seemed to have no back-up plan. I don't remember how long it took, but it seemed like within the next week, we'd signed Moose. We obviously dumped DT knowing we'd get Moose or someone similar. So what's our plan now? Is it: a) Marty Booker: The most obvious choice, but who knows? Resign Berrian: Very possible. But why are we waiting on the announcement? c) The unknown: There's rumors Detroit wants to trade Shaun McDonald. There will be other WR's available also. Predictions????

They've been horrible so far. - In the ATL/BAL game, the refs called Atlanta "Arizona" at least 4 times. - In the Bears game, I counted 4 missed holding calls FOR EACH TEAM. - In the GB/SD game, Nick Perry had a sack and got a 15 yard penalty for NOTHING afterwards. - In the BUF/WSH game, they called a punt that was downed at the 4 a touchback.

At this point, 19 days before the draft, the direction I'm going with the 1st 2 pick is replacing these 2 guys. Those 2 guys played the biggest roles for our beloved Bears who have yet to be replaced. You can say we replaced Izzy with Turk Mcbribe and replaced DJ Moore with Hayden/Bowman but I believe we could still use an upgrade over those guys. Mcbride wasn't able to find that much time playing for the terrible Saints D, Hayden ranked in the bottom half of free agent CBs according to PFF, and Bowman was relegated to almost strictly ST work. I don't know who is responsible for deciding whether or not the Bears challenge a previous play, but whoever it is that person should be fired. 1 - They don't know the rules. 2 - They are horrible at their job. 3 - I'm not totally sure the Bears have someone to do it, and Lovie is just winging it down there on the sideline based upon how adamant his players are. Throwing away two timeouts in a crucial moment of the game against our most heated rivalry is simply not tolerable.
