Velus Jones is not going to be anything. I would not be surprised if he was cut in the offseason. At his age, they touted this maturity and work ethic. The dude is a WR that can't catch and fumbles, which is 50% of his job. It doesn't matter how fast he is if he can't catch or when he does, fumbles. The Gordon that was drafted finally showed up. He was all over the place, INT, fumble recovery, and some great tackling. This is the guy everyone expected. I hope he finishes the season like this. I have been mixed on the coaching staff, but what they are doing with this roster is quite impressive. From last year, the defense lost Mack, Hicks, Quinn, Smith, and Ja…

Moore comes in with 364-5201 yds, 14.3 Y/R, and 21 TDs. That is over 70 receptions and 1K yards per year. Pretty cool comp I found, 5 years with original team, then traded, stats with original team: Diggs 365-4623 yds, 12.7, 30 TD Moore 364-5201 yds, 14.3, 21 TD Diggs first year in Buffalo: 127-1535, 12.1, 8 TD, All-Pro1, PB Diggs has had 3 straight years with 100 catches, no less than 1225 yds and 8 TDs. This also makes things easier on Mooney and Claypool.

So what do we do with pick 9? Using taknathon for reference 1) Draft the best OT in the draft. Whoever they rate top player, grab Paris Johnson, Pete Skoroski, or Broderick Jones. 2) If Jalen Carter drops - take him? The interview we have with him will determine that decision. 3) Take a DL there? Byran Bresee, or Luke Van Ness. 4) Left field pick, Devon Witherspoon/ CB Option 1 9) Paris Johnson/OT 53) Tuli Tuipulotu/edge or 3T 61) Felix Anudike-Uzomah/edge 64) Keeanu Benton/DT Option 2 9) Jalen Carter/DT 53) Tuli Tuipulotu/ DT 61) Felix Anudike- Uzomah 64) Jaelyn Duncan/ OT Option 3 …

I think pressure will be on Poles and Flus to win in the third year of a rebuild. What puts us in the best situation to win now? I think it's a 98% chance Williams is our first pick. He has the highest floor and highest ceiling IMO. Not to say some of QBs won't be successful. I think the next most unknown QB prospect is McCarthy. He played on a team that won with the running game and defense which doesn't allow his stats to look great. I think he's the unknown QB in the draft. Harbaugh thinks he's the best QB in the draft. I think if we trade down he would be what Poles would do it for. IMO They all have some questions but that is what I think Poles options are …

If Marvin Harrison Jr. falls to 5, would you trade the #9 pick and our first round pick next year to move up and draft him? Peace

These guys are on fire. 9 WRs already making an impact. Nabers leads the NFL in receptions. Whittington is 3rd in receptions amongst WR rookies and he is a 6th round pick. How does LAR do it? Kupp, then Puka, now Whittington. Thomas looks like a steal at #23. Outside of Whittington, Thomas may end up being the best value WR pick in the draft. I am not worried about Odunze because his issue is not skill, it has been target volume. Once his targets go up, he will be right there with the leaders. Nabers 35-386-3 (1st) Thomas 22-397-3 (1st) Whittington 18-201-0 (6th) Harrison 17-279-4 (1st) Odunze 15-206-1 (1st) McConkey 15-176-2 (2nd) Leget…

So Detroit just signed Larry Foote, formerly of the Steelers. He's still pretty young (29) and a great player; the Steelers just didn't have the cap room to keep him, and his backup (Lawrence Timmons) played well and is cheaper. Barring something incredibly unforeseen, Foote will be the Lions' starting Mike linebacker this season. I'm starting to get a little worried about Detroit. Here are their additions this offseason, with my notes: Larry Foote, MLB - Very hard-hitting downhill linebacker. Great against the run, adequate in pass coverage. Might be replaced by Jordon Dizon in the nickel package. Vocal and local - should be the face of the defense. Juli…

I'm sure that it's an oversight somehow, but the Bearstalk2 league only has 4 teams signed up and the draft is tonight at 8:00pm CST. Sure it's a pain that it's at the same time as the Bears game, but I don't think it can be changed now. So, please sign up folks or even point others in that direction just to get more teams. If we can't get at least 10 teams, there is no point in even continuing the league. Here's the signup info: league 2 http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/talkbears2 name: talkbears2 pw: forte scoring: basic yahoo scoring and rosters with the addition of 1 rb/wr flex. As we sit here three weeks plus after the firing of five offensive coaches and announcing that we are going to bring in a new defensive coordinator, does it seem that this team is getting more and more chaotic and being a total laughing stock within the NFL? There has been a lot of speculation on why the Bears have not hired any coordinators and hired only Mike Tice at this point. Is there now a stigma on this team with the fact that most everyone is seeing the writing on the wall that the current head coach is a total lame duck and no one truthfully wants to come in and coach knowing that the probability next season that they will all be looking for a new job. People t…

One thing I have noticed in seeing film on Cutler in Denver VS Chicago is his mechanics. At times his mechanics with the Bears are atrocious. One thing my brother picked up in camp is that he thought Cutler practiced lazy. In asking him why he thought this a concern; he simply stated "you practice like you play". My brother, being a qualified leader of men through many years with the Marines expounded his assessment by stating by going hard all the time, you get used to where people will be in battle and /or game situations. Most importantly, when everyone works there ass off for a common goal it develops a steeliness that translates into more fight when it matters. …

Because some have mentioned releasing him, I had the thought, "What would the Bears get for him in trade?" I'm not sure I would do it, but if a team were willing to give a 1st and a 2nd, or something like that, I might do it as the Bears GM.

1-20: Trade down to (29) with San Francisco aquire 3-92, lose 5th ( with Barrett Jones and Warmack gone prior to 20) 1-29: OLB Alec Ogletree - Speedy, athletic freak with Football Skill to go with it 2-50: LT Lane Johnson - The run on OTs slows down, and bears get a beast RT or LT. Extremely athletic and a football player. Played QB and TE and apparently strong as hell (his arms are very long, so his reps may be about average) 3-90: OT/G Kyle Long - Pedigree, pedigree 3-90: TE Joe Fauria - stickin with this guy.. Just love his passion 4-116: G/C Braxston Cave - What a sweet name "The Caveman" 6: OLB/DE Brandon Jenkins - with McClellin being a #…

My last mock was in February so I'll throw up a March one, then hold out till April for my last one. I could probably make a new one every week but I don't wanna waste everyones time lol. Resign Roach/Louis/Izzy RD1- Chance Warmack LG Bama- May be a bit of a stretch but I'm gonna go with Chuck, I mean John, Norris and say he's there and there's no question who I'd take if hes there. RD2- Jaime Collins LB Southern Miss- The more I read about the guy the more I like him. Another former safety with great speed. Briggs-Roach-Collins looks solid to me. He's probably better suited in a 3-4 but his secondary skills make him an option in any scheme if you ask me. …
