Assuming the Bears don't trade down ( ), the recent FA pickups seem to have gleaned some light on the situation. Right now only a few possible positions make sense (in no particular order): 1. QB 2. DE 3. S 4. CB Quarterback With Glennon on board for the amount of money he got, there is no way the Bears spend a #3 pick a QB to ride the pine. Similarly, they wouldn't have paid Glennon that much, even if it does amount to a one year contract, to sit behind a rookie, first-rounder. Leno has gotten better each year but is still not even average. the only difference from Leno and Whitehair is the 2" difference in arm length, otherwise they are the same size player. I looked at last years OT class and the best OT were a little taller and they all had longer arms. The one closest to the size of Whitehair was T. Decker, his arm length is 1" longer than Whitehair. So here is what I think will happen, they will stick the best 5 OL on the field at the same time. i'll go ahead and come out and say I want McNabb in the offseason. We can draft a qb in the 4th or 5th round. With the first pick, we have to get a skilled player, if that's wr or rb, but not a qb. Whoever is at the top of the board, we draft. We could address the o-line in free agency. I find it interesting that there are those of us who are thrilled with the draft no matter what we do, and those who hate it no matter what we do. Our o-line, WR's, D-line, D-backfield, and running-back situtation are all significantly better. It's perplexing why we made a statement in not drafting a QB, but I'm sure we had our reasons. A year ago, perhaps two, there was a thread where someone proposed trading Hester. I think it was after his second season when he was about to set all sorts of records on KR/PR. At the time I was against it because I figured he was a marquee player and if the WR experiment didn't work out he'd at least be an elite PR/KR. Two years later I'm throwing that out the window. I see a team in need of a lot of rebuilding, not a total rebuild but definitely in need of some cornerstone players.
