On offense I hope we run the ball and use a lot of RPO with Mitch. I think Green Bay will use a 5 or 6 man front similar to the front they used to stop Derrick Henry. From a 2 TE, 2 WR and 1 HB I’m hoping we can run the ball effectively and when we pass Mitch’s options are small so he can get rid of the ball quickly On defense I’m hoping that Johnson and Skrine are available and if we can’t pressure Rogers with a 4 man front Pagano can use some exotic blitz’s possibly with Smith and Trevathan showing blitz and coming or dropping out of it. I think having Hicks available will be a massive difference to the game earlier this year.

Kyle Orton credited his neckbeard with helping him overcome the cold and windy elements in Chicago on Sunday. "Certainly with the wind, it was cold, but I have a beard so that helps out a little bit. We get to see one of the MVP favorites in Hurts, who looks a lot like Fields in terms of performance. Philly just put up 48, 35, and 40 against NYG, TEN, and GB, so this does not bode well for our defense. I figure they will try to slow them down and make them run while the Bears run 60% of the time. Depending on player health, I figure this will be a closer game than expected, but the Bears still lose by 10. I am figuring 30-20 right now.

Evaluation is even hard for experts whose jobs are on the line for their choices. Only 59% of the first round become starters. that's a high miss rate. 29% are busts. At the SB this year there were 38 UDFAs on the the two teams rosters. the point is it's hard to know where the players are coming from but the bottom line is evaluating talent. lets look at Paces drafts 2015 White-- has been injured but still has #1 WR traits. Angelo in his draft wrap up was talking about choosing between a "QB" and Steltz. The only Qb that was off the board after Steltz and before the Bears picked again in the 5th was Booty. JA went on to say he wanted starters with this draft and he believed strongly of the two that Steltz was a starter.

Bears made the trade finally. They will get a draft pick compensation, which is unknown right now. Sounds like they are flipping some picks. Wheeling and dealing continues: Bears are trading TE Martellus Bennett to Patriots for draft-pick compensation, league sources tell ESPN.

Trestmen talked today and said he has spoken with hester but only in a "get to know" type talk. He also said he spoke with Url for 30-40 mins and Url mentioned that he wants to return. Him and tucker also confirmed that we will stick with 4-3 base defens. Good move IMO

I'm doing this to see just where everyone is at in terms how they view the Bears' WRs. I go back to the 60's and have actually saw Johnny Morris play but taking him out of the equation I'm hard pressed to find a guy who I could say is second to Morris. We have had tandems or individuals that have had great seasons but if you twist my arm here is where I would go with rankings after Morris: 1 Dennis McKinnon he was a smaller version of Hines Ward and would block just as good as he would catch the ball. 2. Heading into the season, I think even Orton supporters had fairly low expectations. Well, a look at the numbers is a bit surprising. Orton has 198 passes, which ranks him 6th in the league. Far higher than I think most would have expected. Orton has a completion % of 61.6%, which is not great, but very solid. Even better, IMHO, is that he has been over 60% in 4 of his 6 games, and a 5th was 59.4%. He has 1,386 yards passing, which ranks him 8th in the league. His YPA stands at an even 7, which is not bad at all, particularly for a "game manager" which you would expect to be under 7. He has 8 TDs passes, which ties him for 8th in the league. An…
