Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. TB allowed the fewest rushing yards in Week 1. The Bears had the 6th most. TB's offense was not good, but they still won due to MIN turnovers. The turnover battle is going to be the key to victory. Both teams scored 20 pts, so that seems like a fair number for the winning team. With TB winning in Week 1, and Mayfield not throwing an INT, I think the Bears have a chance to win this one. They almost couldn't have played any worse than they did in Week 1. With KC looming in Week 3 as an auto loss, this really is an early season must win, now more than ever considering what happened on Sunday. If they don't wash that stink off now, I don't know if it…

I truly believe this is the year to address OL in the draft which will go along way in keeping the Bears competitive now and into the future without over spending in FA. In fact former GM - Bill Polian said today on the Doug Gottlieb show (ESPN Radio) that he would have never spent the $$$ on OG like the Tampa Bucks did for Carl Nicks, simply could not justify that money to that position. Assuming a true LT is not available at 19, I would not be disappointed if we could DRAFT a LG and C that could come in and start from day one. Then in 2013 the Bears can move up in the 1st round if needed to get that stud LT if Williams and Webb can not hold down the fort this y…

In a response to an email on ChicagoBears.com Mayer came up with an interesting explanation as to why we got a good deal with the trade for Cutler. 1st, he says, and I can not disagree, that if Cutler were to be put into the draft in 2009 he would be the clear cut, by a landslide, #1 selection of the draft as he is a proven probowl quality NFL QB. By using the dradt selection chart: http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/pick_value_chart.htm the first round selection is worth 3000 points. Our first round pick this year is valued at 900 points. Our 3rd round selection is valued at 170 points. That totals 1070 points. Let's assume we really sucked as…

Kurt Warner should be high on Chicago Bears' shopping list Bears would be wise to show interest in 37-year-old potential Hall of Fame QB David Haugh | On the Bears January 6, 2009 An NFL general manager who establishes finding a quarterback as his team's top off-season priority, as Jerry Angelo has for the Bears, is like an astronaut who says he is ready to soar into space. Conceptually, there can be no limits to the possibilities, or what's the use? That thought left the deepest impression when considering how the Bears viewed the first round of the NFL playoffs, a weekend that included 37-year-old free-agent-to-be Kurt Warner taking the Arizona Cardi…

It is real early, but I feel this is a terrible year to have the top draft slot. I haven't got a feel on any of the QBs yet and Watson continues to be the big name...yet I hesitate. Offensive lineman, same feeling. The top pick I think will produce is Jabril Peppers DB Michigan. Bears n Cutler need to rebound quick otherwise it may be hell for many more years. Any thoughts of owning the first pick?

The Combine starts up this weekend, so get ready for some drooling over potential prospects that the Bears may covet. Here is my list of prospects I will try to watch: Round One prospects in our reach Gabe Carimi OT Wis - 6-7 315 35-1/4 arm Little raw to play LT, but is a beast in the run game. Has potential to be a great RT. Gabe will probably get drafted a few slots ahead of the Bears, but he has to be on the Bears war room board. He can solidify the RT and improve the run game. The Bears may be hesitate to take another RT project since they like the potential of JaMarcus Webb. Nate Solder OT Colorado - 6-8 314 35" arm Since he struggled …

  9. Bears 8-3 at Giants 3-8 Based on DVOA, the Bears are 12th on offense and 1st on defense. The Giants have the 18th ranked offense and 28th ranked defense. The Giants got off to an awful 1-7 start but have played much better after their bye going 2-1. They just lost to the Eagles 25-22, after winning two straight against TB and SF. 10 of their games have been decided by a TD or less. The key is going to be stopping Barkley, who makes up most of their offense. He commonly is the leading rusher and receiver on the team. Manning is prone to sacks and INT's though, and I have a feeling that a fresh Bears defense is going to dominate. The big question for us is …

The Sun Times and Tribune both had articles in today's paper talking about our secondary. Three things that were news: 1. Peanut Tillman is staying at cornerback (Not exactly breaking news, but it stops the rumors of him going to fs) 2. Danieal Manning is staying at nickel-back, not free safety (this is different then what Smith had said before) 3. Craig Steltz is penciled in as the starter at free safety with Payne at SS. First, this tells me our cornerback position is pretty damn strong. D Manning looked really good at nickel-back. We're hoping Vasher can return to form, and he'll be battling with Corey Graham who was pretty damn good last year. T…

According to TheScore, Ted Phillips will only handle the business side of things from this point forward. The Bears intend to hire a true president to run the show. Let the Holmgren rumors begin to swirl.

  13. http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ COLT GETTING CUT Posted by Mike Florio on April 1, 2008, 2:54 p.m. Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan, whose buzz as a potential NFL quarterback took a serious hit once his team was dismantled by Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, will see his draft stock dip for an entirely separate reason. Brennan needs surgery to repair a torn labral in his hip, according to Tony Pauline of SI.com. The surgery is scheduled for April 7, and he’ll miss eight-to-12 weeks as he recovers and rehabs. In other words, he’ll miss most if not all of the offseason workouts of the team that drafts him. In turn, he is expected to dr…

Impossible to know the results, but on face value this is the best draft in quite some time. Fill needs? Check (for the most part...only six picks) Draft BPA related to needs? Check No big reaches? Check No stupid small school picks? Check No injury history guys? Check I don't know how any Bear fan can be truly disappointed with this draft. Even if someone would have preferred different players, it turned out very well. Even Langford, the lone head scratcher, possesses home-run spped at tailback, something the Bears haven't had for quite some time. Between him and White, this team may have an explosive aspect to it in the near future. Bravo…

Being there live, here were my thoughts: -Tebow sucks. He did nothing today. Yes, he threw for 191 yards from the 4th quarter on, but that was because of the defense the Bears were set up in. -Barber was good all game, and then he does s*** you learn not to do in 3rd grade when he went out of bounds. Then, he fumbled in OT when if he would've went down, they'd be attempting a 52 yard FG for the win. -I thought Briggs was great. -Hanie sucks. He's been in the league for 4 years. Make it throw. Quit tucking it away after 2 seconds and either throwing or passing. Step up and make a big boy throw. -Hester does some dumb things. He needs to stay on ST. Even there …

  20. The most obvious pick is Chris Williams because he is basically guaranteed a starting position at left tackle unless he's injured or something. This is a good way to start building up a young offensive line, and you can't have enough good offensive lineman, everybody knows that. Depending on what they do with Benson, Forte will be an impact player for the Bears this season. Now I remember watching him play a little bit last year and I remember he had over a 300 yard game with like 4 or 5 touchdowns. I don't know much about his gamebreaking speed but he looks to me like a better version of Thomas Jones. He will push Cedric for a starting spot come training camp and I …
