Glad to see that Emery is continuing his predecessor's habit of signing draft picks early. It's reported on the Official Chicago Bears page on facebook: "The Bears have agreed to terms on a 4-year contract with 1st round pick Shea McClellin. Hit 'LIKE' if you're happy that Shea is officially a Bear!"

  2. The Bears re-sign LB Darryl McClover a special teams demon. That doesn't bode well for some one on the LB crew.

We went out and got this guy pretty quickly after he got cut and he's been coached by Reggie Herring before. Must be something there we really like. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0924-story.html I checked around some draft profiles. From a physical and athletic standpoint he's not a diamond in the rough like Christian Jones may become but he sounds as if he's pretty quick for a LB but on the smaller side. He's been around long enough that we want him for special teams now or as a backup player moving forward (as in next year) or both. I suppose this could be related to Shea breaking his hand but there has been nothing out there indicating th…

Man will this ever stop.....I hope not we are building an O-line no matter what the cost(Bushrod) or where the players come from. My hats off to big E and the staff for trying to make the Bears champs once again http://www.windycitygridiron.com/2013/6/13...ol-a-j-lindeman

He's a career back-up who was drafted in the 2nd round in 2010. To me this just shows the direction our scheme is headed. Ducasse is 6-5, 325. That is a big man. He immediately becomes the Bears heaviest offensive lineman. And he's a guard. Our offensive line was previously designed for pass-blocking and not so much run blocking. To me this indicates a change in that. We keep showing interest in OG's and centers. Yet RT is our greatest position of need on the O-line. Is it safe to assume Kyle Long will be changing positions?

(Sadly not THAT Manny Ramirez) Better backup option than Ducasse, IMO, and can backup Grasu at C. Yet another former Bronco under Fox. One year deal.

Interesting move, they must like some of the younger Edge/DEs. They freed up even more cap space by releasing Attacochu. Pennel was signed by the Bears a few years ago, but never made the team. Seems like just another body for the D-Line.

  14. Really like the Pringle pickup. He is big, fast and ascending. Had a long path he took to the NFL but Poles is really familiar with him. He also can return kick-offs. 1yr 4M (2M in incentives). Additionally - St. Brown didn't do a lot with the Packers, but he was behind a lot of people on the depth chart. I will note he is big and fast but reality is he is probably like some of the other fast guys (Goodwin/Byrd) who were scrubs last year. I really want one of Landry/Juju (or Robert Woods) plus a draft pick (or two).

BEARS SIGN BASANEZ Posted by Mike Florio on February 3, 2009, 3:15 p.m. Though there could be plenty of free-agent options on the market once the annual signing period opens later this month, the Bears have gotten a head start by adding to the offseason roster quarterback Brett Basanez. The team announced on Tuesday the signing of the former Northwestern quarterback. Basanez previously played for the Panthers. He spent most of the 2006 season on the practice squad, all of the 2007 season on injured reserve, and all of the 2008 season on the practice squad. Basanez was the Big Ten offensive player of the year in 2005. It’s unknown whether Kyle Orto…

  20. Decent production for 568 defensive snaps: 3.5 sacks, 20 QB Pressures, and 5 TFL. He played the Bears in 2022, had 0.5 sacks, 7 total tackles, and 2 QB Hits against Fields. This seems like a upgraded rotational piece over the likes of Muhammad/Blackson.
