  1. It will be a miracle if 4 QBs go before we select, but keeping my fingers crossed. I always liked R Smith and told Rich Campbell there is no way Smith is a top 10 player because of his position. I would hate to eat crow, but he most likely go to Oak or SF if we don't take him. Edmunds intrigues me the most because I can see him gaining good weight and grows into a freak on the edge.
  2. Sounds good. I thought I would have joined or liked it when it came out, but nothing on my fb,but one from NBC.
  3. Is talkbears still on Facebook? I just tried the line and it was no longer good.
  4. Wonder is more athletic means Grasu has a shot at C and Whitehair moves to G? If Nelson is available, they might envision him at OT too. Draft weekend will be interesting as usual.
  5. I still have high hopes that DeAndre Hall will either push for a CB or S position. He is one I wish they figured out a position for him his rookie year and let him master it.
  6. Hopefully Pace and Fangio are doing there homework. The Bears need a defensive game changer and the closer we get to the draft the further I am starting to feel. If Nelson is gone, I think we have to draft a playmaker on D. I am leaning ON Edmunds myself, but really don't want a ILB. If they think Edmunds can grow into an Aldon Smith, then go for him. If they don't think he will get the strength to play outside, but will still be a great ILB, then I may switch to Davenport. Our chances of trading down don't look good, so we will be realistically be choosing one of these: Nelson G Edmunds LB Davenport DE/OLB Fitzpatrick DB Ward CB Smith LB James S

Agree, he was an early on top of the draft guy. He played hurt so production was down, but think he could be a top pick based off previous performance. He tested well too, so watch him creep up mocks.
  9. Nice piece AZ. As for RB, maybe Howard will dedicate his off season to becoming a better receiving back. That would be something. I remember when Movie challenged Tim Jennings and he came back leading the NFL in INTs. Heck, maybe Jeremy Langford would have value back again as he was a good receiving back. Sims has value as our only inline blocking TE. He is expensive but I don't see him going anywhere this year. Shaheen will get there. I dont know if he is athletic enough to be a move TE yet and Brown will get more of those backup plays. Not sure if Gabriel will be more part time or out there all the time. He will be the Tyreek Hill imo, but damn what do you do with Cohen. Nagy has some work to do to figure it all out.

I wouldn't sell Morgan ,who we drafted last season, short either. He was regarded highly when we took him and I think we stashed him knowing he could compete for a starting role year two. He is also someone who could play T. Keeping my fingers crossed that Pace and company knew this when release Sitton. Jordan Morgan, G, Kutztown Height: 6-2. Weight: 313. Arm: 33.25. Hand: 10. 40 Time: 5.36. Projected Round (2017): 3-5. 4/25/17: Sources say that the small-school prospect is a potential third-day offensive lineman who could rise. Morgan had a decent Senior Bowl week in Mobile, holding his own against the better competition. Morgan has good size and is strong at the point of attack. Some team contacts have said they think he could be a lesser version of Ali Marpet, who was a Division III player, yet ended up being a second-round pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sources said that Morgan was being graded in the fourth or fifth round before the Senior Bowl

I wouldn't count out C either, there are around 3 rated 2nd round. They could shift Whitehair if needed.
  12. I remember real well this time we thought we needed a RB that fit better in a diffrrent offense (Turners). The Bears spent a first round pick on Cedric Benson and they eventually traded Thomas Jones. If they do draft another RB, hopefully it is 5th rd or later and Cunningham will be the back on notice. Not that I dislike him, but Cunningham is the old man and I prefer to keep Howard and Cohen.
  13. I am one of the few in the Allen Robinson wagon. The knee is going to be a risk, but if he passes the medicals then I think he can give us the #1 skill we need to back off the S. Heck, Meredith and White haven't proved much, but we are willing to see them back.
  14. I was wondering, didn't mention anything because my phone just updated and thought that did it. Now I know...
  15. That would be most ideal to me. If they are shopping him, they don't want to pay him long term unless he proves it on the tag. Doubtful the tag him twice, so I would wait him out a year or give them Howard as you said.
  16. I am torn on this because Howard has been pretty near elite for RBs in his first 2 years. I think RBs can be created easier than a WR and they have a shorter NFL life span. If Miami is shopping him, then they know they are not going to meet his contract demands and they will lose him after the season like we did with AJ. Why not be firm on only swapping 2nds. They get Howard and a higher 2nd, we pay JL and gain a 3rd. They do not lose out like we did losing AJ. Pace could learn a thing or two about gaining draft value
  17. I am 5'7" and did 225 25 times....about 24 years ago lol. I didn't get praise for that, I got humiliated because of my height. I know height has its advantages and disadvantages but I know the work I put in back then too. He does seem uncommited with what I'm hearing. He does have good game tape too, so his pro day will be his calling. I would consider him late round 2 with his combine results.
  18. Not sure on the interview, but it is rare to see guys his size bench many reps or run well. I have missed a lot this week with being crazy busy with work.
  19. Muhammed Wilkerson DE Jets has been released.
  20. Hard to say, but this draft is deep with a variety of choices. I would still like to see 2 get drafted since the top FA talent dried up before it even started.
  21. Where does Shaqon Barkley RB fit in? He was considered one of the top 3-4 a month ago.
  22. What sucks about Ridley is his age. He will be an old man if he makes it to his second contract. Pace has shown he doesn't put age into effect since he has drafted a handful of older players. Calvin Ridley - born Dec 20, 1994. 23 years old and will be 24 during next season. Meaning if we draft and keep him, he will be 29 starting a new contract leaving the 6-7 year contract extension up for debate. Where as if we drafted Juju Shuster last year, he will be 20 next season, with a year of NFL experience.
  23. I am torn. I like how good stable teams are rewarded, which helps them remain that way too. It also keeps bad teams bad because they cannot catch up without overspending in FA and have a hard time retaining there top players because they want to move to a winning team. If the bad team doesn't make any improvements, then they dump coaches and gms and that could put the team back even further. If we were a good team, we would love seeing that 3rd round award. One issue with the Bears is they sign decent players and end up cutting them before their contract expires, like Sitton. A good team can now poach him and that signing will not effect their compensatory scale. We feel good because we see more cap space, but then we spend it on more mediocre/good players and lose our compensation gains.
  24. One of these years the Bears might draft good enough to start earning Compensatory Picks. 2018 Compensatory Picks 3-97 Cardinals 3-98 Texans 3-99 Broncos 3-100 Bengals 4-133 Packers 4-134 Cardinals 4-135 Giants 4-136 Patriots 4-137 Cowboys 5-170 Bengals 5-171 Cowboys 5-172 Packers 5-173 Cowboys 5-174 Packers 6-207 Packers 6-208 Cowboys 6-209 Chiefs 6-210 Raiders 6-211 Texans 6-212 Raiders 6-213 Vikings 6-214 Texans 6-215 Ravens 6-216 Raiders 6-217 Raiders 6-218 Vikings 7-251 Chargers 7-252 Bengals 7-253 Bengals 7-254 Cardinals 7-255 Buccaneers 7-256 Falcons
  25. Tried another Buffalo trade down since it has been a few weeks since I mocked, but was surprised at how many former top players are falling.
