I think one poster mentioned penalties... WHY ARE THERE STILL SO MANY? This falls squarely on Lovie. That amateur crud needs to stop now. We are not that good of a team where we can fumble twice nad get penalized like the Raiders and still win...

So it's cutdown time. Who do we bring in for a look? Here are some guys I'm thinking about: Maurice Evans/Robert Henderson, DEs, Giants (Evans - 6'2" 264 lbs.; Henderson - 6'3" 278 lbs.) - The Giants cut Evans and Henderson...they've got a surplus of DEs already, and it's not like it'd be easy to beat Justin Tuck, Osi, or any of those other guys for a roster spot. Evans has a bunch of question marks - poor 40 at the combine, got arrested once for pot possession - but his 2007 season makes me think he should get a shot. He racked up 12.5 sacks and 21.5 tackles for a loss. Henderson has the measurables, and in his 33 college starts at RE, he had 29.5 TFL and 13…

MARCUS ROBINSON RETIRES AS A BEAR Posted by Josh Alper on June 9, 2008, 11:16 a.m. In a move greeted with less fanfare than Brett Favre’s, wide receiver Marcus Robinson has announced his intention to retire as a member of the Chicago Bears. Robinson actually had retirement thrust upon him when the Vikings cut him on Christmas Eve 2006 after he criticized Brad Childress and others with the team. He tried to catch on with the Detroit Lions - Matt Millen never met a wide receiver he didn’t like - but they didn’t have a spot for him. Robinson spent three years with the Vikings and was with the Ravens for one season in 2003. Robinson spent five years with Chicag…

In reading today's articles about JA's interview it seems he's changing his strategy a bit from what he's done in years past. Recently we've taken players who fell a bit due to injury. Of course everyone knows what happened with Williams last year. In the past we've taken Bazuin who I believe had a bit of an injury pre-draft that was aggravated in camp. Of course we took Harrison in Rd 3 and Bowman in Rd 5 who both fell due to injury concerns. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/04/an...ss_2009_nf.html "Angelo on drafting players with medical c…

Was listening a little to the "Herd" this morning. And of course Trent Dilfer made an appearance. (Colin is a big fan). They got to discussing the Bears. First thing Colin said is he thought the Bears were a "fraud". Asked Dilfer what he thought. Dilfer's reply was basically that he didn't believe in them. He did make one note that I found ironic. He felt the only real way that the Bears could even hope to make it into and through the playoffs (let alone Super Bowl) were if the Defense began to play off the chart. He felt that it mostly fell into the hands of Cutler being consistent and thusly why the team could not maintain it's momentum. They reviewed the rema…

He has us taking Chris Williams and he has Mendenhall going at #15. I'd love it if we signed a guy like Max Starks, let St. Clair play left guard, and went after Mendenhall. It's not likely going to happen though. I think we can all agree our OL has sucked this year and has been a key problem for our offense. Many have screamed to build the OL for years, and w/ the OL so bad this year and everyone talking about it, it seemed like our wishes would finally be granted in this offseason. Now I have to wonder. In the last game against Minny, we saw a huge difference from the first game. Williams replaced Pace at LT, and did a pretty damn good job. I know he got a lot of help, but he also blocked Allen one-on-one plenty of times, and more than held his own. Omiyale was unbelievably awful early in the season prior to being benched. But in the last couple games, has h…

I still think moving up to #10 would be enough to get one of the top 5 QBs. Will it be worth it? I think it would be if you only had to give up a 2022 2nd and a 2021 3rd (obviously including #20 in 2021). Like I said before, I think this scenario is highly likely because it essentially buys Pace/Nagy more time.

Simeon Rice Says He’s A “Super Hero With No One To Save” Posted by Mike Florio on May 13, 2009, 7:05 a.m. Former NFL defensive end Simeon Rice wants to drop the “former.” And he’s telling anyone who’ll listen. Unfortunately, the group of curious ears has yet to include one or more of the 32 franchise that constitute the league. Most recently, Rice made his case for a comeback on Sporting News Radio’s The Monty Show. “I’m really in playoff shape right now, it’s bananas that I’m not on a team right now,” Rice said. “It’s great in a way but its frustrating. I feel like a freak of nature, like a super hero with no one to save.” Specifically, Rice …
