This mock by far has got me the most excited. Sure we missed on Oline, but defensively this would be a great building block. I would be happy with this outcome. 1-7 Amari Cooper WR - Hands down the safest 1000yd/yr capable prospect 2-39 Landon Collins SS- Marked as the best S in the draft but he is a tweener FS/SS. 3-71 Xavier Cooper DE/DT- Projects as a 3-4 DE, which after McDonald, Jenkins, and maybe Houston theres not much depth. 4-106 Marcus Golden OLB- pass rushing talent to step in 2016 5-142 Durrell Eskridge FS-big physical FS who could step in 6-183 Ladarious Gunter CB- nice size and speed to develop

It is real early, but I feel this is a terrible year to have the top draft slot. I haven't got a feel on any of the QBs yet and Watson continues to be the big name...yet I hesitate. Offensive lineman, same feeling. The top pick I think will produce is Jabril Peppers DB Michigan. Bears n Cutler need to rebound quick otherwise it may be hell for many more years. Any thoughts of owning the first pick?

Who's planning on going? Saturday was a blast last year. No pressure if you miss a 6th or 7th round pick, well a little, but being there is awesome. Great weather, downtown, nfl buzz. If anyone plans to go and want to meet for a bit, I am in.

It's likely going to be a wild offseason with draft rumors. Here we are fresh off the Senior Bowl with apparently two teams kicking the tires on a trade for #1. It appears Tenn was one of the teams. I say kicking the tires because at this point that's about all that is being done. If this is true, most likely the Titans GM just wants to know if Poles would be willing to drop back to #11. I'd say yes we are open to deals involving picks and players. I assume we'd want to include Jeffrey Simmons. Using Draftek.com trade chart: 1ST PICK = 3000pts 11 = 1250, 41 = 490, 72 = 230. for a tot = 1970. I don't know what Simmons would be considered in value bu…

  7. Little bored this Saturday playing mock drafts and reading. My question is what two players or positions do you think will be best for the Bears going into 2020 and beyond to draft in Round 2 if we cannot trade back? My two with some luck: OT- Austin Jackson OT USC - there seem to be a decent amount in this draft, one could fall? I could live with a Prince Tego-Whanago also OLB- Terrell Lewis OLB ALA- also a player I see late RD1 early Rd 2. We did sign Quinn, but rotation and freshness keeps the pressure on. If he is available, the Bears need another body. Let's see what two players could boosts our chances.

Using my mega sophisticated draft value scoring system, using the CBS Sports Big Board, Pace is a boss right now. In 3 picks he has increased the value of our draft by the equivalent of a mid 3rd round pick. We basically got Goldman and Grasu later than their grades without having to trade up to get them. I compare the slot they were projected in, and add or subtract the draft trade value for those slots to where they were actually drafted. Then I take the cumulative total to come up with the overall value of the draft. Name/Pick/Big Board/Value Kevin White 7 - 7 = 0 Eddie Goldman 39 - 27 = +170 pts Hroniss Grasu 71 - 61 = +57 pts Total = +222 (+ mid 3…

Since this is a slow time, draft sites, I respect are GBND,Countdown.com, and because of content Walters and Drafttex. A new one I found was NFL Mocks and interesting thing about that website is it projects where FAgents go. They have us resigning Campbell(which I dont see happening because of cost) I think the possibility exists due to OC ties we grab Chase Daniel/QB They have us signing Dutin Keller/TE (which I wont be objective to, is the better TEs become to expensive) They have us signing Gordon Cherilius/OT (which I dont see happening because he plays RT) my choices would be Beatty, Albert, Bushrod in that order) They havent released Defe…

I found this hilarious. Everyone talks about how good the Patriots are and everything so much it makes most of us sick. So check this out. My information is from NFLDraftBible on Twitter. Between 2005-2008 the Patriots had a total of 26 picks and hit on just 3 of them. (Meriweather/Mayo/D. Thomas) He refuses to call Gostkowski a hit because he was a 4th rd pick where Brandon Marshall was selected just after him and Elvis Dumervil and also Ray Edwards later in the rd. He refuses to call a 4th rd pick on a Kicker a hit. I tend to agree with him as we have a better Kicker and he was undrafted. Just saying.

Okay, to hell w/ the draft. Instead, how about we: Send Denver our 1st & 3rd, and future 1st/2nd conditional pick for Cutler. Send our 2nd to Az for Boldin. After the draft, send Atlanta our 2010 2nd round pick for Tyson Clabo, a damn good RT w/ size (6'6 330), youth (27 years old) and experience (I think he has started every game the last two years). Sure, we are giving up a boat load of picks, yet at the same time, we get a franchise QB, a franchise WR and a damn good RT (which allows us to move Omiyale back to OG). Still have that conditional 3rd rounder this year we can use on a FS. Hey, better than spending our picks on future busts

  14. As always I’m amped up for the Draft here on the eve of the 1st round just like a kid the night before Christmas! Will Pace do right by the team or will he get selfish and greedy like the grinch? Gamble the Bears future with a huge Trade up, stay put, or trade back and infuse team with more potential talent? These are among just a few of the questions and draft scenarios we all ponder. Here is my final Mock that addresses current and future needs! 36. Zaven Collins LB Tulsa …

I have looked at several draft grading players and there is about 18 that are considered first year starters/pro bowl potenial players. So I will list and figure out who might be there at 19. Luck,Griffin,Richardson,Blackmon, Floyd, Kalil,DeCastro, Reiff,Glenn,Fleener, Kuechly, Coples,Ingram,Brockers,Cox,Claiborne,Kirkpatrick,Barron. These are players falling in those spots. Also could move into the top 18-Poe,Tannerhill,Wright,Konz, Jenkins, Upshaw,Martin,Gilmore. So as the draft goes will determine who the best player available at that spot. We wont be going after Luck,Griffin,Richardson,Fleenner. that leaves 14. We wont have any chance of drafting Bla…

  19. http://bearingthenews.com/?p=1400 Drafting for a Better Future Instead of an Ugly Present Benjamin Franklin once wrote, “All human situations have their inconveniences. We feel those of the present but neither see nor feel those of the future; and hence we often make troublesome changes without amendment, and frequently for the worse.” It is with that in mind that I note Dan Pompei‘s review of the outside linebackers in this year’s NFL draft for the Chicago Tribune (http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-0419-nfl-draft-outside-linebac20110418,0,4899973.story).
