Rotoworld is reporting that the Steelers just shipped Santonio Holmes to the Jets for a 2010 fifth-rounder. It's the #151 pick overall. Holmes is a big character risk, and I'm not one of these people saying that the Bears desperately need to upgrade at receiver, but Angelo absolutely should have sent a 5th for him. Santonio and Hester would have been a nasty pair of deep-threats for Martz's deep passing game.

Not sure why Cutler deserves all these excuses people keep making. "It's those darned receivers." "He was being rushed." Well... weren't these the same problems there last year? In fact, this year's receivers are better overall than last year's (Booker, Lloyd). Why was no one ready to make these excuses for Orton? Granted, Cutler's arm is better. But who needs a rocket arm if you're throwing it to the other team. If we wanted a one-trick pony who can throw the long ball and is interception prone, seems like keeping Rex Grossman would've been more economical. Cutler better turn it around soon.

I remember during the Vikings game Aikman mentioning that if the Bears had a few less turnovers (mainly INTs) in the close losses the Bears could've had 3 more wins than they currently have. I understand the what-ifs are BS, but....... Looking back at the games, Cutler had 4 INTs vs GB and we lost by 6. Against ATL, we had 2 INTs and a fumble and lost by 7. Against SF Cutler had 5 INTs and we lost by 4. I just wonder what the state of the team (mentality-wise) would be right now if we were sitting at 7-4 in the WC hunt. Regardless, it is amazing how a season can change so drastically from 2-3 plays in a few games.

After the game, I heard Rex say about how the offense was put into a hole with such bad field position consistently. Well, according to Larry Meyer, that is no excuse.. Thoughts?

I'm very concerned with this team's well being right now. If you ask Lovie, "we're 3-1 in the first quarter" of the season. The way I see it- the Bears have the worst OL in the history of history. The way this franchise has put together a team is laughable. They trade an adequate QB, 2 first round picks and a 3rd round pick for Jay Cutler. They invest $22m per season in this franchise QB. They pay d**k in guys who could be even described as "average" offensive linemen and instead sign guys who should be working construction. I'm confused. We have a defensive lineman changing positions to TE, already on our roster. Greg Scruggs I would suspect at 6-3 310 lbs, he will become our blocking TE and probably will lose a few pounds.

The 6-4 Detroit Lions are in 1st place with a +6 in net points. Minnesota looks a shell of their former self, and GB at 4-6 is laughable. At 2-8, we are obviously out of playoff contention, especially considering we have 13 players on IR, plus Miller from last night. I’ve never been so pumped and excited about having a quarterback the caliber of Caleb Williams since the Super Bowl Shuffle - 46 quarterbacks since then. I was happy about Justin Fields when we moved up to get him. I truly thought we have our “It” quarterback. Now, three years later, Fields is not “It.” He doesn’t have the vision of a quarterback. Picking Williams on the first pick will turn around the Chicago Bears’ misfortune of having bad to mediocre to good quarterbacks. Finally, we’ll have an “It” quarterback.
