Based upon what some said, it looks like many here were down on the Bears. http://www.talkbears.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2839 6-10s, 5-11s, and things like that. What's everyone thinking now that the Bears took the Colts to the woodshed? I don't see why a 10 or 11 win season is unreasonable.

Don't be surprised if the Bears do end up making a play for Turner and maybe even Flozel Adams. I am certain that Berrian is a gonner, but I wouldn't mind if we picked up a veteran in FA and then maybe used our 2nd round pick on a wide receiver. It wouldn't shcok me to see someone like Brandon Lyod come to Chicago given his teis to Turner and then say the Bears pick up someone like Manningham in the second round.

Booker back to the Bears? By Vaughn McClure, 5:18 p.m. The Bears have been contacted about re-signing receiver Marty Booker, an NFL source said Tuesday. Booker, cut by the Miami Dolphins, has drawn interest from a number of teams. The Bears were not among the initial group which contacted Booker within 24 hours of his release, but Booker reportedly has made it clear that his first preference would be a return to Chicago. Booker was a third-round draft pick of the Bears in 1999 but was traded to the Dolphins in 2004 for defensive end Adewale Ogunleye and a third-round pick (linebacker Channing Crowder). Booker, who turns 32 on July 31, probably has a…

With all the trade talk taking over the week we are at Fri with no game thread for this Sun against Miami as of yet. Health-wise we are getting better. Whitehair is not only returning to the 53 but is on track to start. Jenkins struggled with some back issues earlier in the week but has had 2 full practices and is off the injury report. Borom is off concussion protocol but might not start. My guess is Reiff played well enough to keep Borom as backup since he's had just one practice. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/bears-cody-whitehair-larry-borom-good-to-go Stopping the Fins WRs is going to be a problem and with us relying more on backups at LB an…

I remember during the Vikings game Aikman mentioning that if the Bears had a few less turnovers (mainly INTs) in the close losses the Bears could've had 3 more wins than they currently have. I understand the what-ifs are BS, but....... Looking back at the games, Cutler had 4 INTs vs GB and we lost by 6. Against ATL, we had 2 INTs and a fumble and lost by 7. Against SF Cutler had 5 INTs and we lost by 4. I just wonder what the state of the team (mentality-wise) would be right now if we were sitting at 7-4 in the WC hunt. Regardless, it is amazing how a season can change so drastically from 2-3 plays in a few games.

By Brad Biggs http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2009/...-cap-bears.html It is detailed in Sunday's Tribune how the Bears have $4.63 million remaining in available salary-cap room for the final month of the season, space that general manager Jerry Angelo could put to use for next year, in the event the NFL proceeds with a capped system. Salary-cap numbers for individual players do not represent how much money they are earning each year. Rather, they are a reflection of how much room the player takes up under the cap. Think of it as one big pie, the whole of which is $135.9 million for the Bears. Quarterback Jay Curter is the biggest piece in the pie w…

I'm watching this week's press conference's and there are a lot of questions to Adam Gase about him being a HC next season and to Fox about his assistants becoming HC next season. I'm impressed with our coaching staff and I think going forward into next season we'll see some very good things. However, right now when you step back and look at the entire league how many owners and GMs really want to pursue the assistants from a 2-5 team? Especially two assistants (Gase and Fangio) who did not get chosen last year after all the success they had at their previous jobs. I think our media and fans are way over-estimating league-wide reactions to our team. Yes, Cutl…

I think Ingelisias and Knox will get a chance to catch a few balls this year. I think Gilbert with fill in in the rotation. Freeman could by the end of the year to become a starter at SLB. Moore will take McBrides spot on the roster. Louis will become our blocking TE. The player contributing the most from this draft will be Melton, as a situational pass rusher and the key here, OUR GOALLINE RB THAT WILL PUNCH IN TDS WE COULDNT DO LAST YEAR FROM THE THREE.

Forte is having a good game. If we contuine to block he will have over 100 yards for the game! Oh by the way Dallas Clark is hurt and not playing!

Bears trade up and get a highly productive WR. This has Nagy written all over it. Smith was for Fangio, Daniels was for Hiestand, and Miller was for Nagy. The Bears traded #105 (4th rounder) and next year's 2nd for #51. Based on how they value draft picks where next year's are worth one round less, we won the trade (in terms of value).

Looking at the draft, it is quite possible that when we pick, the #2 RB (whether that be Mendenhall or Stewart) will still be on the board. Three teams in the four picks after ours (Det, Az and Houston) all could be looking to upgrade their run game, which means if a team wants one of these two RBs, they may need to move up to our pick, in front of those other teams. Heck, if one of those teams really likes one RB over the other, they may even be looking to move up a couple slots, like if AZ loved Mendy, and felt Det would take him. Could be interesting what sort of offers we get. For me, it would take quite a bit for me to trade down. If we could trade down, and…

While out driving I was listening to 670 and whoever it was (4 o clock hour) brought up an grading system that gives both offensive and defensive lines ratings based on several different things, sacks, disruptions, holding calls for/against, and they then devise a percentage off that. To the surprise of no one the Bears DLine ranks 2nd to last with a 17.5% rating . Only the 0-4 Giants rank lower at 17.1%. The OL, to some peoples surprise ranks 24th on this list with a pressure rate of 29.9% The OL will obviously have some bumps in the road but over the first quarter of the season I'm a little surprised no one has knocked their play. The DL on the other han…

1. Our D is the most putrid piece of crap I've ever seen wear the storied uniforms. In fact crap is more useful, at least it's fertilizer. I don't care about injuries. These clowns have no pride. It is painful to watch. There is absolutely nothing positive you can say about what we saw yesterday. We'd let Kathy Bates run for a buck fifty if she lined up against us... 2. Trestman needs to wisen up. As great as he's been, continuing to go on 4th when it's painfully obvious to kick is becoming mind boggling. And to top it off, he doesn't even put the ball in the hands of playmakers. Again, he runs up the middle... 3. ...with MICHAEL FREAKING BUSH!!!! …
