The bears who have always been a Defensive Minded Team is now an Offensive minded team, which is the trend of the NFL. The team that has the Best D beats the shit out of the team with the Best O. Last years SB had two Defensive Minded teams in the SB. If the Bears can some how get the D fixed to be at least in the TOP 15 with a Top 10 O I will like our chances.

PFT is talking about Miami's QB situation. W/ Pennington added, and you have to believe Henne is a lock, that will leave one spot for two other QBs, McCown and Beck. McCown was signed in the offseason, and got some bonus money too. Beck was a 2nd round pick in 2007. One is likely to go. They make some points why Beck could be on the block, or cut. Don't get me wrong, I certainly recognize that Mendy is the better prospect, and the "hometown boy" and could very well be a better player in the pros. I was also a little disappointed we didn't get him. But as far as the skills they bring, they both are basicially one-year wonders who catch the ball well and don't have great timed speed. Forte is more suspect coming from a lower level of competition, but he's also coming from a more pro-style offense, from what I've seen. I think Pix and Connerbear are from the Rockford area. I've recently moved back to Rockford after a 15 year hiatus in the NW 'burbs of the Windy City. I was wondering if anyone might be interested in getting together to watch the first and maybe second rounds of the draft. It starts at 2:00pm CST on Saturday the 26th. With a 10 minute limit and picks starting probably at about 2:20pm, that puts the Bears picking at 4:40pm in the first round. The second round should start before or about 6:35pm with 7 minutes per pick and the Bears 12 picks in, it should be about an hour and 25 minutes at the latest before the Bears pick which makes it about 9:00pm for their cur…

Damn the Bears are getting hammered in the preseason rankings, not that they mean much, but what are these "experts" seeing that we are not? All indications point to at least some improvement from last year. I was figuring 9-7 or 10-6 was completely reasonable. Don Banks from SI.com has us at #26, behind the likes of Washington, Seattle, and Oakland. I know it would never happen (for various reasons), but would anyone on this board be entirely upset with the concept of drafting just three areas of need this upcoming offseason? 1. OL 2. WR 3. OL 4. FS 5. WR 6. OL 7. FS That would be a wonky looking draft, but if you told me that's how it played out I wouldn't be unhappy. I could also see a nothing but OL, WR, and QB draft.

Per Rotoworld: I would actually really like this re-hire. Fewell was our DB's coach in 2005, and has been the DC in Buffalo since 2006. Like Rotoworld mentioned, having him focusing on the Secondary and Marinelli on the D-Line could make for a solid team of coaches.

I was very surprised at how high guys like Tyler Smith and Cole Strange went. There always an ebb and flow to draft trends and IOL are moving upwards lately. I still like IOL. Raimann, Rhyan, and at OT I have no clue where Petit-Frere fits because his ranking is anywhere from 2nd to 5th Rd but he still seems like a reasonable option somewhere. WR: Watson, Pierce, Pickens (character questions might not fit Bears and those issues likely push Pierce's value higher). Other options: DT Winfrey S Jalen Pitre.
