The bears who have always been a Defensive Minded Team is now an Offensive minded team, which is the trend of the NFL. The team that has the Best D beats the shit out of the team with the Best O. Last years SB had two Defensive Minded teams in the SB. If the Bears can some how get the D fixed to be at least in the TOP 15 with a Top 10 O I will like our chances.

  3. The Bears open up as 1.5 favorites on the road against the Flacco-led Bengals. The Bengals just lost 39-38 to the lowly Jets, which followed allowing 31, 27, 37, 28, 48, and 27 since Week 2. So no team has scored less than 27 against the Bengals since the Browns in Week 1. So this has to be the breakout game for Williams. Anything less than 27 pts on offense and a solid passing game overall, will be a failure. I am losing faith in the defense that allowed 30 to Huntley, but think the defense rebounds enough for a Bears win 31-20.

  4. Why does Jay get slammed to the ground with his head pounding the ground but Aaron Rodgers barely gets his face mask touched and gets a 15 yard penalty. Officiating is a joke.

Damn the Bears are getting hammered in the preseason rankings, not that they mean much, but what are these "experts" seeing that we are not? All indications point to at least some improvement from last year. I was figuring 9-7 or 10-6 was completely reasonable. Don Banks from SI.com has us at #26, behind the likes of Washington, Seattle, and Oakland. He is basically saying we are a 5-6 win team. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writ...mp.3/index.html ESPN has us at #21 which is a little better, but that is basically saying we are the same team as last year. Don't they realize we essentially upgraded 3 spots on the Defense with potential Pro Bowle…

Per Rotoworld: I would actually really like this re-hire. Fewell was our DB's coach in 2005, and has been the DC in Buffalo since 2006. Like Rotoworld mentioned, having him focusing on the Secondary and Marinelli on the D-Line could make for a solid team of coaches.

Noots’ Notes-Game 1: 21-15 Loss to Green Bay By Michael Nudo The Bears fell to Green Bay in their opener. Jay Cutler’s 4 interceptions were too much to overcome. Fallen Angel (AP Photo/Jim Prisching). OFFENSE Quarterback Jay Cutler (17-36-277, TD, 4 INTs, 3/16) took too many chances with the football. He kept some plays alive with his feet, but threw the ball into coverage far too often. He had some really nice throws, especially the 68-yard bomb to Johnny Knox and the 36-yard touchdown to Devin Hester. He needs to be more patient, and hit the checkdowns to his tight ends and running backs. His moving in the pocket also led to some inaccurate thr…

Right now the Bears are tied for the 12th worst team in the league with CLE and JAX (oh joy). Since we have the toughest SOS, we get the lesser pick (14th) in the first (to OAK) and then the 13th pick in the 2nd, and the 12th pick in the 3rd (to OAK). If the season ended today, we would have the 45th pick in the 2nd round and somewhere around the 52nd pick from the Raiders. Without 3rd and 5th Round picks, the Bears almost have to use one of those to trade down. I would rather use the second one and do something like this: 1. Select #45 2. Trade #52 (OAK) for #60 + late 4th + late 5th 3. Select #60 (from trade) 4. Trade late 4th and Eagles 6th to move up i…

I know it would never happen (for various reasons), but would anyone on this board be entirely upset with the concept of drafting just three areas of need this upcoming offseason? 1. OL 2. WR 3. OL 4. FS 5. WR 6. OL 7. FS That would be a wonky looking draft, but if you told me that's how it played out I wouldn't be unhappy. I could also see a nothing but OL, WR, and QB draft.

We need a RT.. Mills and Leno both suck. They should just move Long to tackle and be done with it. He's more valuable there than at guard. Good pressure on the quarterback by the defense early. Offense needs to quit shooting themselves in the foot with penalties. Decent showing so far. Let's see how the 2nd quarter goes.

I was very impressed with him today. He's a rare guy who's a possession WR but can stretch a simple 8 yard pass into a 40 yard gain. He caught a 15 yard pass today and ended up taking it 65 or so yards for a TD. He's a monster. If this guy is really on the market and Angelo really doesn't want to give up a 1st and a 3rd, they're nuts and so is he. If I were Angelo, I'd make the trade. Period.

QUOTE: "Jay Cutler threw a pick-six to Cardinals S Tony Jefferson on a miscommunication with Martellus Bennett. “It’s an option route," said Bennett. “I may feel something that Jay sees different on the play. … Those are plays we need to make and make all the time.” … That's two weeks in a row those little miscommunications on your routes have resulted in turnovers that led to opponents scores. How may more times are you gonna "freelance" your routes and not be in the spot where Cutler expects you to be and delivers the ball too? The Cutler haters will blame him because they always have but those picks didn't happen in a vacuum. In both cases you overran your ro…

  17. This is it. The Bears are eliminated, but this game would put an exclamation point on the season. The Packers make the playoffs with a win, and miss the playoffs with a loss. So they have a ton of motivation to win this one. GB has the 13th Offense for yards, Bears now 15th. For Defense, Bears are 12th, GB is 21st. The Bears are the 2nd best rushing offense and best rushing defense per game. The Bears are #1 in INT (22), Packers are 30th (7). So the Bears have the edge overall. The Packers have the better passing game and screen game with Jones, but that's about it on offense. The Bears have the better rushing attack. Kmet's health is goi…

Browns have difficult decision to make with breakout QB star Anderson I know he has limited experience/success. He did have an excellent 2007. There is squat out there for FA QBs If Rex, Kyle, & Brian can not step forward (time will tell) we need someone to push the bubble. Do you want to rely on a rookie QB, especially if we wait to later rds to draft one while we attend to other positions first (OL, RB, S....)? What would it take to get him????

  20. http://www.nesn.com/2011/01/sources-larry-...ight-price.html Hellllooo? Don't know what they would be asking. I know the Lions got a 1st and 3rd out of Roy Williams so I think the bidding would start there. How about a 1st and Johnny Knox? This would be a dream come true if Larry Fitzgerald fell into our laps. Best WR in the game today.
