Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. So who do we draft as a QB to develop if Rex and Kyle fall short of expectations? Everyone seems concerned about QBs in the draft who have problems with mechanics, speed, agility, athleticism, quick release, Big School competition, etc... There have been many QBs drafted who had all of these attributes that flopped as NFL QBs. Ryan Leaf, drafted #2 in round 1 of the 1998 draft. Cade McNown drafted #12 in round 1 of the 1999 draft. How can we forget Rick Mirer drafted #2 of the 1993 draft. All of these QBs had all the qualities we have discussed necessary to become an NFL Star QB. But there have been QBs who lacked these attributes that succeed…

I think Pix and Connerbear are from the Rockford area. I've recently moved back to Rockford after a 15 year hiatus in the NW 'burbs of the Windy City. I was wondering if anyone might be interested in getting together to watch the first and maybe second rounds of the draft. It starts at 2:00pm CST on Saturday the 26th. With a 10 minute limit and picks starting probably at about 2:20pm, that puts the Bears picking at 4:40pm in the first round. The second round should start before or about 6:35pm with 7 minutes per pick and the Bears 12 picks in, it should be about an hour and 25 minutes at the latest before the Bears pick which makes it about 9:00pm for their cur…

We were called out on national tv yet again. THis embarassing loss holds all the info we need to know about the state of Chicago pro football... 1. We have nothing on the lines. It's all won and lost in the trenches and we have nothing. The O Line is a joke, and for all the hoopla around Marinelli, hte D line is a joke. Jason, nfo and a ton of other posters have been clammoring for O Line in the draft to the point where suggestions were made that every single pick be the line. That idea is not silly, it's a virtual must now... 2. We miss Urlacher. If not just for his speed and knowledge, his fire is sorely needed out on that field. Briggs is great, but d…

Our problems are solved!! The Bears signed former St. Louis defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy today. Kennedy has had an injury-plagued career and weight issues, but he appears to be in much better shape. Kennedy was traded to Denver but was cut in training camp and hasn't played this season. He was the Rams' top draft pick — No. 12 overall — in 2003. The Bears would have selected him if he were still on the board. He played one season for Bears coach Lovie Smith while Smith was the defensive coordinator with the Rams. Kennedy is practicing with the Bears today.

All right, this is just for fun… Here are the scenario’s: 1) Trade future picks for Brady Quinn. What would it take? Maybe a 1st and a 4th. 2) Grab a veteran FA. I’ve heard Simms potentially mentioned, but Culpepper looks to be finally healthy. Here’s the ceiling and floor of it all. Quinn is an unknown by NFL standards, yet has the ability to become the franchise QB we have been dreaming of for decades. Pepp and Simms are damaged goods, but have the ability to become serviceable stop gaps with arguable skills possibly not adding up to Orton and Rex. You are the GM and the clock is ticking…

  14. Detroit coming back home after a last second win against the Chargers. Detroit has beat up on losing teams, and the Bears are a losing team. Outside of Fields coming back and playing lights out and the defense playing as good as they did against the Panthers, this one looks like it will be an ugly loss. 34-16.

  15. http://www.nesn.com/2011/01/sources-larry-...ight-price.html Hellllooo? Don't know what they would be asking. I know the Lions got a 1st and 3rd out of Roy Williams so I think the bidding would start there. How about a 1st and Johnny Knox? This would be a dream come true if Larry Fitzgerald fell into our laps. Best WR in the game today.

  16. From his press conference today. "I feel good about what we’re doing offensively. There r sum things we need 2do a little bit better, which we’ll do & go from there" Turner blows, and if lovie doesnt see that then he should be fired.

QUOTE: "Jay Cutler threw a pick-six to Cardinals S Tony Jefferson on a miscommunication with Martellus Bennett. “It’s an option route," said Bennett. “I may feel something that Jay sees different on the play. … Those are plays we need to make and make all the time.” … That's two weeks in a row those little miscommunications on your routes have resulted in turnovers that led to opponents scores. How may more times are you gonna "freelance" your routes and not be in the spot where Cutler expects you to be and delivers the ball too? The Cutler haters will blame him because they always have but those picks didn't happen in a vacuum. In both cases you overran your ro…

With the loss of Melton, DT just became a little higher priority for adding talent. I scoped out a couple mock sites and put a wish list together. This coming offseason will be a handful for Emery and Meltons injury just added to that pressure. Rd 1 Timmy Jennigan DT FSU 6-2 298 Fits the mold of a 3T tackle the Bears look for, quick burst, disruptive. Rd 2 Justin Gilbert CB Ok SU 6-0 194 CB with size and experience. Rd 3 Hroniss Grasu C Oregon 6-3 294 Quick/athletic, also a great run blocker for Oregon's fast paced attack. Chip Kelly will also be looking for his anchor to make the line calls. Rd 4 Barrett Jackso…

Hypothetical here, let's assume Trestman is gone at the end of the year and the Bears have to hire another coach. Which guy is on your radar? The list isn't nearly as appealing as it was 2 years ago. The up and comers: - Todd Bowles (Cardinals DC) - Pep Hamilton (Colts OC) - Darrell Bevell (Seahawks OC) - Adam Gase (Broncos OC) - Dave Toub (Chiefs ST) The retreads: - Mike Shanahan - John Gruden - Bill Cowher Current NFL coaches that might be looking for a job: - John Harbaugh - Rex Ryan - Mike Smith College coaches: - Kevin Sumlin - David Shaw - Brian Kelly I'm sure there are others I am leaving off, but the…
