Having been in a depressed state for 40 yrs? minus our SB appearance and 2018. The only way to be sane is to change teams, Im not doing that but it appears many of you are disgusted enough to think about it. I have always kind of liked Denver -like the state-cool uniforms-they have a great coach? I have always admired Pitt, great coach-kind of the mind set similar to Bears. Pick a winner- just be a KC or Philly fan

  2. Started by adam,

Thru 13 games it is clear that the roster is too weak to compete. At a minimum, they need a new LT, C, and RG. My assumption is they will keep Jenkins and Wright. I don't think Allen comes back, so they will need a new WR3, which is a need, but more like tier 2. TE2 is also in this group. On defense, they need a true Edge2, DT, CB2, and probably S. That is 9 starters or key contributors. For upgrades, they need to look at RB, LB, and rotational DT. That is 12 new bodies and we would be going into Year 4 of a rebuild. That is unacceptable in my opinion.

  3. Started by Stinger226,

The first order of business for the new coaching staff is to evaluate their own players and resign their free agents that they will want to keep or cut players under contract. Bates, because of injury, may not be kept. They know more about his problem and whether he is healed. If healthy he can be a competent backup or even starting center at which they brought him in for. 4 mil would be saved. Gerald Everett never had a role on this team but has a history of a contributing player. Kmet didn't get targets so obviously Gerald didn't either. We will have to see how the new coaches evaluate him. 5 mil would be saved if cut. Tyler Scott never showed up but can …

  4. He is on the older side - but relatively healthy player up until this past season where he tore his pectoral. Has a good relationship with Sweat and certainly could be an impact addition on the interior of the line. Prior to last year though the guy pretty much always played and generated a real nice pass rush from the interior. I would be very supportive of this move - sign him to a 2 yr deal with a 3rd year of dead money or something.

Do the Bears go with 3x QBs on the 53-man?

There is another trenches pick. Will replace Pickens, who really underwhelmed.

Saw this on twitter: Trade Bagent and Braxton to the Saints for Banks Jr LOL and while we are at it - we should trade DJ for Fields to fill the hole at QB2. LOL

  8. Started by adam,

There is a good chance that the Bears top 4 franchise receiving leaders are currently on the team. Johnny Morris is #1 in Receiving Yards with 5059. DJ would need 2.5 more years with his average numbers to surpass Morris as the franchise leader. Then you have Odunze, who as a first round pick will more than likely get a 2nd contract. If he gets one, and just say he puts up his rookie numbers annually, he would surpass Morris halfway thru Year 6. Then you have Loveland and Burden. Both have the highest pedigrees of Receivers that the Bears have drafted (besides Odunze lol) since Alshon (3rd in franchise). A wild note about Alshon, if he stayed with the Bears, he…

  9. Started by adam,

It looks like the Bears created enough cap space for operating during the season after restructuring Jaylon Johnson's contract (saved $8M on this year's cap). However, I don't think there is room to add any big ticket guys like Zadarius Smith. At most it will be a vet minimum guy that doesn't impact the cap.

  10. Started by adam,

He may not be getting much attention, but he is currently top 5 in tackles per game, is tied for the league lead in INTs with 4, has 1 sack, and a 67.2 Passer Rating against. For how bad the pash rush has been, he has been playing very solid in his new position.

  11. Started by adam,

    Weird to see Bears as leading vote getters, 4 OL on the list, 14 total players in the top 10. The top 4 guys should be in consideration for All Pro, Dalman, Thuney, and Byard should be 1st Teamers. Wright, just because of name recognition will probably lose out to Horn or Surtain for 1st Team All-Pro. OC - Dalman - NFC1 / NFL2 OG - Thuney - NFC1 / NFL1 FS - Byard - NFC1 / NFL1 CB - Wright - NFC2 / NFL2 KR - Duvernay - NFC2 / NFL3 ST - Blackwell - NFC2 / NFL4 OT - Wright - NFC4 / NFL4 OG - Jackson NFC3 / NFL7 DE - Sweat - NFC3 / NFL7 LS - Daly - NFC5 / NFL5 QB - Williams - NFC4 / NFL7 P - Taylor - NFC5 / NFL10 TE - Loveland - NFC6 / NF…

Who's idea was it to get rid of Chris Harris? Angelo or Lovie? I know hindsight is 20/20 but seriously there was no need for this move at the time. Even at the time I was thinking this wasnt neccesary. Imagine him in our backfield now.

It's an ankle. No word on the severity. I don't wish injuries upon anybody, but to have him out next Sunday would be a HUGE boost.

  15. Started by nfoligno,

Last year, I screamed for two TE formations. This year, what I really want to see is a 3 TE package. Kellen Davis and Clark play TE off the OTs, while Olsen splits out. Lloyd is our lone WR, w/ Forte in the backfield. Just think about the potential w/ the formation, as well as the matchup problems it would create. (1) Our OL sucks, but we would provide the OL (whether on passing or running downs) w/ two additional/good blockers. (2) W/ Clark and Davis as the inside TEs, that likely puts Olsen on a DB, where he has size and creates a very big matchup problem. (3) Clark and Davis are both solid blockers, but also solid potential receivers. (4) Forte…

Seriously though...this one is obvious. A TE with that kind of talent has to be used against overmatched LBs constantly.

We need to scratch the cover 2. It's no longer an unknown defense because everybody knows about it now. Every single time we were in it, McNabb was gashing us for big yardage and so was Griese last week. I hate the cover 2, I think it's worthless at this point.. John Madden even said something about it yesterday, he thought they should scratch the cover 2 and the Orton bootleg. Thoughts, opinions?

Man that HURT. What happened? 1. Our defense couldn't stop 3rd and longs. 2. Our OLine sucks when rushing (but are ok in pass protection). 3. We didn't use our TEs enough in the first half. 4. Not much pressure on defense, even when blitzing. 5. Special Teams coverage and the damn squib kick at the end.

  19. Started by Connorbear,

Special teams kick coverage absolutely killed us. What the hell is going on there???? Peace

The Bills traded DT John McCAargo to Indy for a 4th round pick--as per profootballtalk.com. This is significant since McCargo was the guy that Buffalo traded up with Chicago to get in 2006. The Bears gave up the 26th pick for the #42 & the #73 pick. We took Danieal Manning & Dusty Dvoracek. Buffalo would have been one helluva a lot better off standing pat and taking Dvoracek. Not to mention this trade gave us the flexibility to draft Devin Hester. 2006 was also the year that Bears fans were screaming for Angelo to try and trade up to draft Vernon Davis. So far Davis can't even succeed in a Mike Martz offense. I throw this up for 2 reasons:…
