I think Balta has been a little busy lately, so I'll step into his role. Tough matchup for Jays return. I think we'll see whoever Joe Haden isn't on have a huge day, and it won't be because Jay is focusing on 1 guy, it'll be because Joe Haden is really good. The Browns are running out a familiar face in Jason Cambell, who last week dropped 371 yards against a middle of the pack Patriot defense (Josh McCown who?). 3 of the NFLs top WRs will be featured in this game, Josh Gordon, Alshon Jeffery, and Brandon Marshall....Cleveland also features the 2nd best TE in the league, Jordan Cameron.....The secondaries on both sides will have their hands full. Is Ch…

  2. Apparently Marcus Freeman has an enlarged heart, just like Gaines Adams did. His EKG at the Combine was abnormal, so he got a second one. The Bears' doctors either didn't catch his heart condition or didn't think it was a problem (the article doesn't specify,) but when Freeman went to the Colts for a tryout, their doctors said he couldn't safely continue playing. Seriously, I know that awareness of cardiomyopathy among NFL players is just starting to increase, and that these kinds of conditions can be hard to catch in athletes, but it's pretty inexcusable for the Bears' doctors to have missed the diagnosis on both Adams and Freeman. Both these guys passed their ph…

The defense has played phenomenal and the Bears have played hard all season. All I see are people constantly whining about the Bears coaches and you know what, I think they deserve a little bit of credit. We have one of the top ranked defensive units in the league after 2 plus years of having one of the worse defensive units in the league. Job well done guys. Offensively we've made progress each of the past two weeks. Martz has done better and Tice has gotten the oline playing better than it was 3 weeks ago. Hopefully the coaching staff helps the players continue to progress and we see the Bears continue to progress and win!!!!

Looks as though Forte is now considering sitting out some if not all the Preseason games. Can't say as I blame him for the ideas listed (wear and tear and field conditions). The team needs to pull their head out and pay him. He is long term not a short fill. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,2405064.story And if you noticed as a side story, Knox is not happy with losing his "starting" job to Roy Williams. Oh boo hoo cry me a river. If you ran your routes and caught the ball....most times... you wouldn't be having to worry about it. I'm even more happy that they brought in the likes of Williams and Hurd to light a fire under Knox and any oth…

Some intrigue for the final game of the year, will this be Forte's swan song? Will this be Adam Gase's last game with the team as OC? Will any new players emerge or standout? Will the Bears avenge their previous loss? Will the refs actually call a fair game? Which draft pick will the Bears end up with? Will Mariani gain more than 3 yards on a punt return? Will SMC play and look completely lost in coverage? Will Gould miss another FG? Will we have Red Zone success? My prediction: Bears 27-20, drafting 16th

Per Len Pasquerelli of ESPN.com It isn't quite as good as him actually getting released, but if it is true it is good to see the Bears aren't thinking that this was just a bad season for Arch and that they can still plan on counting on him next year. Sans the oline and the hiring of a good OC, their isn't a more important need on this squad than the safety position. Bob Sanders is going to be a FA (was watching a piece about him on ESPN today) and the reality is safeties don't tend to get ridiculous money. So my question is this, if the Bears only had enough money to do the following, what would you do, if the Bears could only give big money to 3 guys t…

  12. Cards are 2-3 in their last 5, Murray is back, McBride (TE) is having a huge year, Conner is very solid on the ground. Bears are favored by 4.5, which says Vegas likes them this week. I am going Bears 24-17 which hurts the Bears draft position and helps the Cards stay close to the Panthers. The Bears normally beat bad teams.

Looks like John Fox places personality over production Email Facebook Twitter Steve Rosenbloom THE ROSENBLOG Recent Columns 1 of 91 JOHN J. KIM / CHICAGO TRIBUNE Bears tight end Martellus Bennett 9:57 am, March 17, 2016 It doesn’t matter whether you’re productive. It only matters whether John Fox thinks you’re all football, all the time, and nothing but football and don’t even think about writing a book or even reading one. That’s the message of the Bears reportedly trading their best tight end to the Patriots along with a sixth-round draft pick in exchange for a fourth-rounder. I suppose Fox feels better, even if his team…

G-Men vs Pats in Arizona. Prediction: Pats by 17.

  17. I mean, he is a freakin DT. Where on earth will this end? Look at where is gotten to in the last 10 yrs. Bruce Smith made 2.2M 10 yrs ago. He was a premier player. Dwight Freeney got his deal last yr at 6 yrs 72M, 30 guaranteed. Even using simple math, thats 12M per yr. based on the same rate of growth, that implies that 10 yrs from now, that a premier guy like Smith or Freeney is going to make what? 72M a year unless something is done. These salaries have gotten completely out of hand. Hell, Deion Sanders was the highest paid NFL player 10 yrs ago and he was paid 4.9M a Yr and people were going gaga over that. How can the small market teams survive, let alone compet…

This off-season my biggest cry was to fix the OL 1st. It was addressed in a big way with Williams, but has been ignored otherwise with a huge void in OG play. With our current situation playing out... I’m calling it like I see it with the OL: 1)Turnover - we have lost 40% of an underachieving unit that must play as a whole to be successful. 2)Durability – Williams out 10 days and counting, Metcalf is getting fluid drained from his knees, Kruetz has an achilles problem, Garza OK but missing an ACL. 3)Continuity – We are going into our 1st pre-season game and our 1st rounder has failed to take a snap with the team in TC, our swing tackle is our best L…

In this game it became clearly obvious that Lovie Smith has lost this team. Ron Turner ran four consecutive plays up the gut for no gain when the Bears clearly should have gone up 14-3 in the second quarter. The next play run by the Vikings goes quickly for a 99 yard TD reception to Berrian of all people is pretty sad. Shows that the defense was not completely thinking about all the scenarios that were possibly coming at them. Then if you look at the sidelines as NBC showed them, the entire team seemed to have their heads down and had this "We Are Defeated" look all about them. To me, this just goes to show how far this team has slipped since the debacle in Miami for…
