I'm sick and damn tired about hearing how damn great the NFC is. What REALLY pisses me off is for the last year, there's been the notion the Bear's didn't have a snow-ball's chance in hell to win the big game. It was 29 to 17!!! Christ almighty, the way people talk you'd think the Bears lost 41 to 3. I hate NY teams, but the Pat's were even more obnoxious. Congrats Giants. On a side note, in any sport has their ever been a pair of brothers to do what Peyton & Eli have done?

  3. Over my many years of watching Bears football I have had some real highs and a whole lotta lows but when it comes to me spiking the Bears cap on the ground or chucking it at the tube one player made me sicker than anyone when I watched his constant miscues. That was Lew Barnes who was a WR/returner on I think the 87 Bears team. He was an adventure each return and you didn't know if he would cleanly field the punt, take it to the house or fumble it after running 30 yards with it.That year I think the Bears were 12-4 and hosted the Skins at Soldier's Field in the playoffs. The Bears had two critical fumbles in the game one by Payton and the other from Barnes late in the game …

I should specify that. Watching NFL Today, or whatever the ESPN show, Dilfer and Shlerif (however you spell it) just blasted the bears. Basically said the bears have too many holes to give up so much. What cracked me up was, Dilfer said Detroit was the biggest loser, saying they should have made the trade. Like Detroit doesn't have holes? Seems a bit of a contradiction. Seriously, though, what irrated me as much as anything was the way they talked about it. - Pointed out the Bears lost both starting OTs. Failed to mention (a) those two OTs sucked ( we have a 1st round pick coming off a red shirt season © added two other veterans in Omiyale and Shaffe…

  6. BRIGGS DOESN’T GET WHY BEARS TRADED JONES Posted by Michael David Smith on September 5, 2008, 1:47 p.m. Early in 2007, the Bears decided that Cedric Benson was their running back of the future and shipped Thomas Jones off to the Jets. Putting their faith in Benson was obviously a mistake on the part of the Bears’ front office, and some Bears players still haven’t forgotten it, more than a year later. “Honestly, more than I am frustrated that Cedric Benson didn’t pan out here, I am more frustrated that a guy like Thomas Jones, who was our best offensive weapon for the years that he was here, was traded and let go,” Bears linebacker Lance Briggs told a Chicag…

Seahawks Add WR Mike Hass by Ed Thompson of ScoutNFLNetwork.com, January 7, 2009 at 9:29pm ET Mike Hass Profile Scout.com has learned that former Chicago Bears wide receiver Mike Hass signed a two-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday. Hass, who was released by the Bears at the end of August, had drawn early-season interest from both the Giants and the Seahawks. He was originally a sixth-round draft pick by the New Orleans Saints back in 2006.

In my mind I see Bears doing following: Free Agent Starters: FA center (Falcons or Colts centers) FA guard (Chiefs guard is the big swing) DE (Chase Young is my big) FA guard (Zeitler) Depth moves: Depth DT (lower cost - but run stuffer type for depth behind Billings / ensure flexibility in draft) Depth WR (Tim Patrick) Depth Oline (swing tackle and guard - my guess is Pryor is back) This gives Bears a TON of flexibility when they get into draft as interior oline would be significantly revamped with pass rush also upgraded. Allows Bears to swing a few shots but be in a position where they could develop as we…

  12. Clearly cutler has the tools, and more natural talent than Kyle Orton. Fine. But bringing him into this situation, namely a mediocre to poor defense with no secondary whatsoever, and no personnel movements made to shore up the secondary, and the most predictable offense in the leauge, was doomed from the start. While everyone was overcome with man-crushes on Cutler, I found myself wondering: is he going to play cornerback? Orton and offense were the BRIGHT spot last year, ie the Falcons game, the Carolina game, the Bucs game, all of which the defense gave up leads at the end. Of all the parties involved, Cutler has gotten the worst deal career wise. He may walk away…

We used to do a mock draft where people were GMs of different teams and we drafted in order, day by day, leading up to the draft. We don't have enough members to do that properly, but an easy alternative is doing a top 15 Mock Draft. I can consolidate the selections and produce a TalkBears consensus mock draft. Thoughts?

  15. So here we go, game two of the early season and our team is 2-0 for prime time (not wins, just appearances). The first game at home in front of a friendly crowd with all our new toys. Seattle is a mess in so many ways . It makes me personally happy to see Pete Carroll wince in agony when his team isn’t doing well. I suspect (and hope) we’ll see a lot more of that next Monday. How will Trubisky do with a weeks worth of game time and more practice/preparation under his belt? Will Nagy manage the game a little differently (smarter) than last week? Will Smith get more playing time this game (as he should)? Will Mack solidify his hold of 2018 Defensive Player …

I think this would be a very odd move, considering the Bears already have two unproven QB's on the roster battling things out and adding Simms would only make the process more difficult. This would mean you'd have 3 guys, all capable of being starters, all of whom have flashed some positive signs, battling for one job. Still, getting Simms gives you a guy who you could turn to if Orton/Rex don't go as planned and could potentially still be a guy that could be groomed as a starter and kept on when the Bears draft a QB next year (under the assumption that Rex/Kyle fail). If Rex/Kyle succeed, than oh well, Simms is a 3rd stringer this year and moves on to s…

With only a few days until the draft are you getting excited or do you have anxiety? All the conjecture and BS stops on draft night. Are the anti-Williams folks resigned to the choice or still hoping for a last minute surprise? Is your focus more on the second pick at this point? I’m hoping for an Offensive Tackle myself More importantly, how are you feeling about the season? Things should be much improved but we’ll have a rookie QB. There are obvious exceptions but usually that’s a tough first year. Lastly, are there any FA’s left that you’d add depending on what happens in the draft?
