INJURY REPORT AND IMPLICATIONS Philadelphia Eagles (2-1) at Chicago Bears (1-2) By Michael Nudo Running back Brian Westbrook is a major question mark going into Sunday night (AP Photo/Tom Mihalek). BEARS OFFENSEcolor> vs. EAGLES DEFENSEcolor> The Bears are hopeful wide receiver/return specialist Devin Hester will return to action after a week two rib injury. His receiver reps went to Rashied Davis last week. Mark Bradley was released on Tuesday. His release should mean more looks for rookie Earl Bennett. Bennett can also return punts. Cornerback Nathan Vasher has assumed those duties since Hester was hurt. Leading receiver Brandon Lloyd has a hip inju…

For years we've been terrible at covering RBs on pass routes. If we want to win tomorrow we better shutdown these short passes and screens. Bring the CB up closer to the LOS (listen up Nate) while the safeties better be smart because the Eagles can go deep as well. On offense I see the opposite needing to happen. We're going to get blitzed all game long. They'll use their blitz to stop our run game and if we pass they'll be in Orton's face. To counter this we need to let Forte swing out of the backfield and let Orton float the ball to him. Forte's good enough to make one defender miss and get a big gain. If Dawkins comes up on a blitz (here's where it w…

Here's some of mine.. " >Insert random players name no matter there skill level "We'll go from there" (In response to somebody asking why they didn't run the ball in the game, this is my all time favorite) "We knew they would eventually stop us, so we tried to pass."

I've just got that sinking feeling that it's 5 wins or less. We've got no chance vs the Eagles and confidence will be very low. I expect you'll be hearing the "they've tuned Lovie out" chants loud and clear Monday morning. I hope I'm wrong but something tells me there's a big downward spiral on it's way. Go Bears

Wouldn't it be nice??? Bears 1985 I especially like the Payton part in the middle...truly poetry in motion and the part when Covert is planting LT. The Bears of 2008 could so much be like these guys. Singletary = Urlacher Wilson = Briggs Dent = Ogunleye/A. Brown McMichael = Dvoracek Fencik = M. Brown Frazier = Tillman Suhey = McKie Hilgenburg = Kreutz Butler = Gould McMahon = Orton (a bit of a stretch??) Payton = Forte (I know, a REAL stretch and blasphemy..but similar no?) The others the 2008 team needs; Hampton, Gault, Van Horne, Covert, Marshall, Bortz, Perry, Thayer and especially Ditka. A swift kick wouldn't h…

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bear27.article I like Tommie but a quote like this pisses me off: ''They gave [Harris] all that money,'' Harris said. ''I guess since he plays for the money, he better do something now since they paid him all that money. That's what they say, right? 'He got a new deal, he shut it down.' I've always played for the money? Get out of here. He needs to know that off course he is going to be questioned - he got paid. Get out there and make some plays or get to the bench and get healed up. Peace

From the Trib, http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....s-could-mi.html Harris says he will play, but Lovie doesn't sound as sure. The way harris has played, does it matter. I honestly wonder if Dusty and Harrison would not be a better starting duo of Harris is in fact hurting.

Last year, I screamed for two TE formations. This year, what I really want to see is a 3 TE package. Kellen Davis and Clark play TE off the OTs, while Olsen splits out. Lloyd is our lone WR, w/ Forte in the backfield. Just think about the potential w/ the formation, as well as the matchup problems it would create. (1) Our OL sucks, but we would provide the OL (whether on passing or running downs) w/ two additional/good blockers. (2) W/ Clark and Davis as the inside TEs, that likely puts Olsen on a DB, where he has size and creates a very big matchup problem. (3) Clark and Davis are both solid blockers, but also solid potential receivers. (4) Forte…

http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2008/09/bu...ple_on_the.html Bucs TE Stevens: "People on the Bears got exposed" By Brad Biggson September 24, 2008 8:55 AM | Permalink | Comments (7) | TrackBacks (0) Thankfully, the postgame chatter has moved on from low blows but that doesn't mean shots are not still being taken. Tampa Bay tight end Jerramy Stevens, fresh off his two-game league suspension, made his debut this season at Soldier Field and hauled in a one-yard touchdown catch to force overtime. Stevens made five receptions for 61 yards, including a 31-yarder. "I personally feel like some people on the Bears got exposed,'' Stevens said. "But I'm not …

http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ COWHER RUMORS FLY IN CLEVELAND Posted by Mike Florio on September 24, 2008, 12:32 p.m. We’ve ignore the stream of e-mails on the subject, but they’re becoming more frequent, and we’d prefer to be left alone. Apparently, plenty of folks in Cleveland have heard that former Steelers coach Bill Cowher has bought a home in Strongsville, Ohio. It’s creating a buzz on the Internet, and for good reason. Cowher’s purchase of a North Carolina home in early 2006 fueled rumors that he would be leaving the Steelers After the 2006 season, he did. But the Browns have a coach. They also have a G.M. If…

Like Brian Bear, I will continue with my mock's each week with were I see the team and there biggest needs. As of right now, this team can very easily be 3-0. The players on the field isn't the biggest flaw IMO, so far it's been coaching. Lovie and Co. are out of excuses, this regime has been in place for 4 years now and the teams concept has been figured out and they are too stubborn to make any changes. It also seems whatever needs JA addresses, Lovie and Co can't seem to find the time of day to implement the tools JA gives and those tools (players) go to waste. After week 3, positions in need of upgrade: OG - Beekman is showing promise, but Garza keeps getti…
