I saw that he was released and not sure if he signed with anyone -- he has some talent but injury problems. Do you take a look?

We had a server error and we are reindexing on the background and this process could cause a couple additional outings over the next 24 hours, but after that the site should be back to 100%. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up (server first crashed this morning).

left on the 53 man roster. Cowboys | Team meets with Bollinger Tue, 2 Sep 2008 17:27:22 -0700 Updating a previous report, Todd Archer, of The Dallas Morning News, reports the Dallas Cowboys met with free-agent QB Brooks Bollinger (Vikings) Tuesday, Sept. 2. The Cowboys may sign Bollinger after Week 1. He would have never made it to the practice squad. Dallas was the other team that tried to sign him as a FA after the draft. He is from Texas. They would have snagged him in a heartbeat. Peace

When I watched him play against us in 205 he was blocking our line all over the place. He seems to be a good run blocker and that we surely need with Forte and Jones in the backfield. In passing plays he held his own. He is not a pro bowl player but he is surely better than Metcalf and Beekman. He is 6'4 320 so he is big enough to stop the likes of Pat Williams from the Vikings and such. I like this guy. Now with that Bowman was cut, IMHO if they thoght so much of him I might have had to part ways with McBride. Not because he is a bad player, but if Bowman is bigger, stronger and faster he can match up better with the taller WR teams have, like the Chargers who's…

Matt Forte will be the first rookie running back to start a season opener for the Bears since Walter Payton in 1975. Informed that Payton was held to zero yards on 8 carries in his debut, Forte said, "Hopefully I'll do better than that." Yes hopefully you will for our sake.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_...?urn=nfl,104485 Fri Aug 29, 2008 2:56 pm EDT Love/Hate: Chicago Bears By MJD As we continue gathering steam towards the regular season, Shutdown Corner touches on all 32 teams, outlining reasons to love and/or hate them. Today, the Chicago Bears. Love the Bears: This team could set records. Since adopting a 16-game schedule, the record for fewest points scored in a season is held by the 1992 Seahawks with 140, averaging 8.75 points per game. This Bears team could give chase. Let's break it down. At quarterback, we're likely to see both Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton, who I think could accurately b…

From Chicago Trib: Bears add offensive line help Vaughn McClure, 3:52 p.m. The Bears added some offensive line help Tuesday, trading a undisclosed 2009 draft pick to Tampa Bay for former Buccaneer starting guard Dan Buenning. To make room on the roster for Buenning, the Bears released fifth-round draft pick Zackary Bowman, a cornerback from Nebraska. Buenning (6-4, 320) started all 16 games at left guard for Tampa Bay in 2005 and he started seven of nine games in 2006 before being placed on the injured reserve with a knee injury. He was inactive for every game last season. Buenning was drafted in the fourth round out of Wisconsin in 2005. His …

LT2_3, can you help us out, we have had conflicting reports, and some disagreements on the forum, about how much cap space the Bears currently have. One report on the net had us with a little over 9 Million under the cap. another had us at about 1 Million under the cap. What is your expert opinion on this point of discussion?

IMHO is the Bears are to win this game two things must happen. One is the the defense MUST rush and get pressure up the middle of the Oline. They will have three new starters in including the new center. This will force Manning to roll out of the pocket into the arms of O-gun,Brown and the fleet foot Anderson. Make him use the bum knee he has. You have go to send a blitz at him when he's in the shotgun. Line up in the cover two and play man to man, with Tillman on Harrison and Vasher on Wayne. Brown can cover the slower clark and Payne/McGowan/manning the slot WR if you do this then Peyton will be in trouble!! Second we need to play old school football and pound the …

http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...1,2728258.story Bears talk to free-agent tackle Anderson, but chances slim The Bears have had contact with free-agent Pro Bowl tackle Willie Anderson, but the chances of the veteran joining the Bears are slim to none, according to an NFL source. Anderson, 33, was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on cut down day. He became a backup to Stacy Andrews at right tackle and refused to take a pay cut. He had a streak of 116 consecutive games stopped last season due to chronic pain in his right foot and also battled knee problems. Anderson signed a fiive-year contract extension in 2005 reportedly worth $32 million…

Bears safety Kevin Payne seems to have mastered the art of disguise, refusing to divulge whether he'll start Sunday night's season opener at Indianapolis. If the Bears can mask their defensive coverages in the same manner, maybe they'll have a chance to knock the high-powered Colts off stride. Payne is expected to start at strong safety alongside free safety Mike Brown, a tandem the Bears hope equals better success than their safeties had in Super Bowl XLI. "I like what Kevin Payne has to offer," cornerback Charles Tillman said. "He's young, but I think he's a quick learner. Being in there with Mike Brown and Brandon McGowan, he's picked up things qui…

The Colts are taking the approach they will be without three-time Pro Bowl center Jeff Saturday and rookie guard Mike Pollak when they open the season Sunday night against the Chicago Bears in Lucas Oil Stadium. More than that, they're taking a business-as-usual approach. The players who will fill in, coach Tony Dungy said Monday afternoon, "are here because they can do the job. You can't over-blow (the situation).'' Saturday could miss at least six games with ligament damage to his right knee. Pollak had minor surgery on his right knee and missed the final two preseason games. That leaves a likely offensive line grouping of left tackle Tony Ugoh, …
