Amen, let him sit for all I care. The Bears have been very fair to him.

I think Angelo id handling the situaqtion perfectly. He made his final offer, Url either takes it or he doesn't. If he don't show up for mandatory camps, he'll be fined. If he wants to retire, he can do that but that wouldn't be too bright, but then again, I'm not sure Urlacher is that bright anyway. Judging by the way he's already alienatied the fans, he's gonna be the biggest loser here.

Culpepper IS NOT a weapon in any way, shape or form. He is a complete bust. The ONLY reason he's getting any play now is some GMs are stupid enough to believe that this guy has anything at all. He lived for years off his association with Moss, Carter and having Robert Smith in his backfield helped tremendously. Grossman is definitely better than Culpepper. Hell, for that matter, so is Orton.

Any team trying to do goodwill anything with these freakin sharks is out of their mind. All that happens is someone uses it against them at the first opportunity. Offer the minimum you have to and move on.

If the Bears made Tommie a better offer than Kelly got in Oakland, they've done their part. Tommie Harris can think whatever he wants about being a top paid defensive player. He's not been performing at that level yet so you could even argue that as a DT, he probably is pretty far down the list stat wise when compared to other DTs and I know we play cover 2 but he IS NOT a top defensive player. The deal he was offered was fair and he should accept it. Franchise him next year and if he wants to take the risk, ok fine. I'm not even sure this guy has a full season in him anymore so let's see what he does this year.

I think the feeling is that McGowan AND Payne are better options than Manning. Frankly, manning may find himself the odd man out unless of course they let him handle some returns. I'm not sure I disagree with your opinion about the idiots on staff though.

You can't pass a talent like McFadden. PERIOD! I don't give a shit whose on your o line. You have FA and other picks to get needs but you don't get a shot at too many McFaddens so if it is feasible, you do it. A guy like McFadden will find running room. They always do.

Hey, it beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. I'll take it. Goodell is really a pussy though. 5th round forfeit? That'll teach em. What's the old saying, when you give somebody nothing, give em plenty of it.

3. Hey, I have no freakin idea what you're talking about either. The reason we use the quotes from previous posts is to reply to them and the author knows we are acknowledging their post. If there's a different way to do it, let me know.

I'd have a hard time not taking him with the 2nd rd pick if he were available. I can't imagine anyone thinking that's not a steal.

I posted on another board that I thought this was more about putting Rosenhaus in his place. To me, it's odd that NOBODY bit on Briggs, who was suposedly the TOP FA available yet after that Bears sign him for 36M with 13M guaranteed, a guy like Pace comes along and gets 42M with 22M guaranteed? Now, call me a conspiracist if you want but I believe alot of people from the NFL were pissed at Rosenhaus for parading Briggs around at the Owners meetings last year and maybe, just maybe they decided to teach Rosenhaus a lesson. What better way to do that than give a guy like Briggs much less than he expected. As far as SF goes, maybe they also got wind that Rosenhaus was doing things in his dealings with SF that he shouldn't. Hey, I don't care what happens, but even if this is more about SF trying to work something out behind our backs or not being forthright in their dealings with us, if we get some kinda compensation pick, Im good. I do like the conspiracy theories though. They're alot more fun.

None of these QB are anything to get excited about. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they all went to Rd 2. I'm not saying they aren't going to be good, I AM saying that with what teams have to pay a first rd QB, they will be more discerning this year and will NOT want to risk the amount of money it takes to sign a #1 QB draft pick. Do you think any of the QBs this year are gonna get deals anywhere near Jemarcus Russell got? I can promise you, NO. The league I think has finally learned it's lesson with regards to #1 picks.
-
Ya know what though, the cap hit probably isn't that bad when you consider what the Vikings gave to the likes of Berrian. I'd like to see what Johnson's contract looks like. It's probably not too bad as it sits.

If I could make the o line one piece, that would be it. I watch the Tony Romo's of the world getting all this bullshit praise and they are nothing more than a by-product of a great o line. If I can't have an o line as a piece, then I want Brady or Manning at QB. Our defense will regain it's stregnth in the league this year as they will be healthy but without good QB play, we can't go anywhere, especially with our receiving corp the way it is and our running game. a Manning or Brady would at least even the field a bit.
-
The request was "If you could change one piece of the Bears, no matter what it is, and the sole purpose was to make them better, what would you change?" Hester's comment about Brown was..."He was probably the best defensive player I've ever seen". There's nothing wrong with that. I don't know how long you've been watching football but give me a healthy Mike Brown and there's no telling how great he could be. You'd be remiss if you didn't acknowledge how much his loss meant to the Bears in 2006 and 2007. You also be remiss if you didn't acknowledge his importance to this football teams defensive scheme. A healthy Mike Brown could have made this defense better than the 85 defense. Hester might be more on target than anyone in noticing Browns importance to this team.

On the other hand, Lewis probably needs a good whack in the head.
-
Yeah, just what we need, a receiver who takes a poke at our HC and OC. Hey, it might be interesting.

Hey, I was weeping too. I was enjoying watching the Bears kick the shit out of him the last few years. I was hoping he might stay for another 3-4 years. Let's face it, to any self respecting Bear fan, Favre was overrated. He was the luckiest son of a bitch that ever played the game. He got alot of breaks, alot of calls noone else would get, the media bought into him hook, line and sinker and gave us all a continuos Favre enema. In the end, he had a great career, he got his SB win and some MVP hardware which is all ANY QB can ask for. He should be able to walk away feeling great about his accomplishments. As Bear fans, we should feel damn glad that Lovie had his number and we got some payback. Most important, the year he goes to the NFC Championship game, we beat him twice AND the last pass of his career was, most appropriately, PICKED OFF!!!!!!! Good-bye Brett, you were a great competitor. freak YOU AND DON"T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE ASS ON THE WAY OUT!

ugh...I didn't say I hoped we went RB in Rd 1, I said I hope we get it right provided we go RB. By that I meant I just don't want another first rd bust if it is a RB. But make no mistake, McFadden could perform better than Benson behind this line. I can think of alot of NFL RBs who could do better as well. It wasn't just the o line.
-
I don't really believe there is any doubt that Benson has the talent. We've all seen some glimpses of what he can do when he is motivated or moved to play. I think the biggest question mark about Benson for me has ALWAYS been, does he really want to play football? I'm a big believer in body language and his body language screams that he has someplace he'd rather be most of the time. Maybe it's that he's not mentally tough enough. Look at the great RBs in this game, Walter Payton, Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Franco Harris and you could tell that they loved the game because of they way carried themselves on the field. Especially Sanders and Payton. They was always a bounce in their step and you could tell they were happy just being there. Harris and Brown were not as quick but they certainly looked more purposeful. With Benson, you just get the impression that he's just not having fun and isn't enjoying what he's doing. Even when Payton was losing, you could tell he couldn't wait to get the ball. Here's hoping that we finally get it right. Provided of course that we do something at RB in rd 1.
-
I was sick when didn't go Palomalu. I really thought we were gonna see Brown and him as our safeties. What coulda been.......
-
No Way. This year the Bears step up and trade.....UP and snag McFadden. That's why they are saving their pennies.
-
Yeah, I like him simply because outside of Phillips, the Safeties are weak. He might be the tallest midget. The other thing is the hometown angle. Just by his name alone, he should be a Bear.
-
I don't know, there's part of me that doesn't want to mess with a great thing by letting him levae but theres another part of me thats saying, hey, we've been through this every year for the last 3 and it hasn't slowed us down at all.
-
I agree that JA has had time enough. For me, HIS sky is falling if he fucks up one more offenive draft. That will tell me that he has learned NOTHING from his mistakes and while he might be a good defensiove talent evaluator, he has also done nothing to fix the offense or at least bring in someone to consult/help. His clock is ticking, like it or not. Don't think the McCaskeys won't be watching as well. Lovie may well get a pass but you cannot let Angelo haqve a pass if he doesn't deliver. Call it what you like but TICK FREAKIN TOCK.
