Green Bay still sucks
FWIW, pulling for a Detroit v Buffalo matchup. My Detroit Lions neighbor’s wife is from Buffalo. Big day for them today.

The Search For Our DC Continues?

Oh I’m no QB whisperer. lol. I’m hoping Justin works out and just not convinced the top 2-3 picks are better. I was sure that Cutler would get us there and he flamed out. I was also totally wrong about Ryan Leaf. FWIW I think Nix could be something good (agreeing with Jason). So that probably means he’ll suck. Lol.- Fields-O-Meter
Not really. If you double the number of starts and extrapolate his stats, Justin isn’t that far off. Oh, and support him with the comparable coaching and team… ??♂️- Fields-O-Meter
Yeah think you’re right. was going to comment that 70% success rate of #1 overall picks at QB. Jackson (although not an overall #1 pick) still hasn’t had a 4,000 yard passing season. Today would be his second playoff win (I think?) and the course he’s made at least one Pro Bowl. Oh…and on the verge of winning his second league MVP title.- Fields-O-Meter
Ironic given you like a guy from NC wearing #10. ? As far as the rest, fair enough. Theres always next season. ??- Which Rookie QB should we draft to replace Fields?
Word. ??- Fields-O-Meter
I’d be willing to compare Justin more to Jackson. So far Jackson has 4TDS (2 rushing and 2 passing) with only ~160 yards passing. Stroud has been exposed not to function well under pressure.- Fields-O-Meter
Yet you still haven’t presented it. Has Bill Polian come out and said this about Williams? His observations of Ryan Leaf (at the time) are very similar to what we’ve been hearing about Williams being aloof and other relatable “rumors”.- Cliff Stein
Good share. I was curious at the time of Stein’s tactics may have played into the stalemate with Johnson and his re-signing. Will be interesting to see if he gets signed soon… Did a quick read on Warren not all that long ago as I was curious about his legal background. Turns out both he and Stein had similar educational backgrounds. Both achieved their Bachelor’s in Business Admin before getting their law degree. Warren went one more step between the two and got his MBA before getting his JD. So maybe more acumen for business management than Stein? ??♂️ Anyhow, after joining the Bar, Warren’s first gig was with a firm that focused on “sports law” specifically representing Universities that had been charged with sanctions and violations. After a year or so with them he formed his own sports rep agency where his first client was Chris Zorich. Some time later (after working with Dick Vermiel in St Louis) he represented the Zilf (?) family when they purchased the Vikings. Then was put into a similar role with the Vikings when they sought to build their own stadium. All this to say, Warren has ‘been there done that’ with regards to the position he currently finds himself in. And I trust he knows what he’s doing, not only with getting the Bears a new stadium (if that’s one of his missions) but also to manage the overall team to assure they are all on the same page.- Fields-O-Meter
So take the #1 pick and draft him to hope “he could be good” with little evidence he will. And while doing so have less stock in other potential multiple draft picks (to include maybe even another future first)? Having a trove of picks answers your second question. You have multiple ‘talented’ players on rookie contracts instead of one. I think we’d agree Poles does well at analyzing talent and getting more band for his buck with draft picks so far. You’re sure that no team will be so desperate to get Williams they wouldn’t sell the farm to include a potential future first to get him?- QB thread

And you have to ask is he a product of the system or??? His backup threw six TDs in their last bowl game.- Bears OC search
A few days ago Colin Cowherd said ‘he was told by reliable sources’ that if Antonio Pierce is kept as HC in Vegas, Kingsbury will be “tapped as OC”. Today he seems to think otherwise… guess we’ll see.- Bears OC search

I suppose if we all signed off on the same belief this place would be rather boring n'est pas? ?- The Chicago Bears are on the clock! OFFSEASON OPEN THREAD!
Was just going to say that. The alternative to vocalizing your support for the QB is saying nothing at all. DJ Moore was asked repeatedly about what he thought about Fields being the QB next year. Every time he was in support of Justin. He was even quoted as saying the two top draft candidates in the QB position aren't as good as Fields. And he followed that up to say it was the 'guys upstairs' who eventually will make those decisions.- The Chicago Bears are on the clock! OFFSEASON OPEN THREAD!
This I would agree with. And part of that may involve keeping what they know in Justin versus an unknown in how the (potential) #1 overall pick may perform. To answer your question about player sentiment; why else do you think they do exit interviews for everyone?- The Chicago Bears are on the clock! OFFSEASON OPEN THREAD!
How do you suppose they decided to keep Flus on as HC? Solely on his improvement of the Defense or???- The Chicago Bears are on the clock! OFFSEASON OPEN THREAD!
I'm assuming you mean Williams? If so, his backup scored 6TDs in his sole start. That being the bowl game that Williams chose to sit out. Could it be Moss continue that trend and be the 'next best thing' coming? ?♂️- The Chicago Bears are on the clock! OFFSEASON OPEN THREAD!
With the current alleged support for Fields in the locker room and they bring in a guy who is this way, could be a problem.- Anything comments
Like he did against Atlanta? ??♂️- Ian Cunningham
I want to believe Cunningham would pass on going to the Chargers if that meant Harbaugh was hired, esp if he had no say. That is unless Ian is so sure that Harbaugh will succeed and he’d help his own cause by getting a few really good years on his resume. But stories in NFL circles suggest Harbaugh wears on players after about 3-4 years. Something about him running things too much like college. Then Ian would have his biggest challenge and have to fire the guy. - Fields-O-Meter
