I had a darn good feeling about this game, which is why I played the bears Def/st in my fantasy league. Kudos to the d they just helped me win this league. After watching the way forte runs and his vision, footwork, and burst I decided to drop donte stallworth and pick him up for my team. Not bad bunch of rbs now with T. Jones, E. James, F. Taylor, J. Stewart, and M. Forte. I'm looking really good in my league! Unless Jared Allen racks up 26 tomorrow and I think I've got my week 1 win thanks to our defense.

As said by Kelso from That 70's Show: "BURN!!!"

waiving steltz and putting him on the ps won't happen and that would be really stupid. He has shown more promise than bowman at this point. Like I said manning has this year, and if he ends up playing and showing he has progressed, which I think is unlikely, he may stay. If not there is no room for a back-up kick returner who blows coverage. Waiving steltz to put him on ps would only set him free to be taken by a different team. Just like monk did. No way they do that especially with the health of mike brown. Sorry but I hold NO FAITH in mcgowan or payne, so the more prospects we have at safety is a plus given browns injury history. Manning has not lived up to the billing of a player drafted in the second rd, just like bazuin thus far.
-
I say let graham be the nickel, he's shown promise this offseason. let mcbride and bowman fight it out for the back-up duty to him. If vasher or tillman gets hurt, then graham moves up and the winner of mcbride and bowman takes over nickel responsiblity. Keep the Safety spot set with M Brown at FS backed up by Steltz, and Mcgowan and Payne fighting it out for the SS spot. This obviously leaves D. Manning out of the picture and I would not be surprised if he is cut after this year. He just shows a complete lack of coverage skills, and speed isn't everything see Mike Brown for that point to be made.

Dude you don't get it???? Seriously your name is cracker dog. What do dogs tend to do??? Piss on people. I actually thought it was a pretty funny metaphor he used. Let's not forget that you were the one who instigated it by calling him out in the first place. If terra wants to vent he can. Lets face it he is pretty right. Matt friggin Leinhart blew us up in the superbowl year, so did B. Croyle , and now J.T. Sullivan. His point was actually well made and you just tried to be a "cool" guy by putting him down then boasting about it. Like him or not you fired the first shot and he metaphorically replied. Then you bash him about his chat room dialect, which I'm sure he really doesn't care what you think. I don't see him calling you out, so why are you calling him out? If it's because of his pesimistic attitude, you should start growing your winter coat cause it very well could be a long season.

I don't necessarily agree with that. I saw Seattle bring pressure on one of Kyles plays. The difference was that kyle saw it and lofted it over their heads to peterson. Kyle looked very calm out there. People ignore the good things Kyle does just because he doesn't take the gambles that sometimes worked for rex, but most of the time didn't. Seattle's defensive backs made a great play because Kyle's pass in the enzone to hester was on the money and hester actually had it, then the safety came in and got his hand in there to knock it free. Kyle may not have scored a TD in the preseason, but he did look pretty confident in himself, and after sitting the past two years I think he'll be a much different player than what some people are making him out to be. Rex just did the same things he's done for the last two years. Not prove that he can make the right decision when under pressure. I think we'll all be pleasantly surprised with Kyle this year, at least I hope.

I'll be shocked if they let go of hass. He's made some of the most difficult catches this camp only other would be bennett. I think we'll keep six with the starters being lloyd and hester/booker. Hester and booker will split reps with the second receiver spot because although hester can be a great wide out we don't want to wear him down in the return duties. I'm not saying hester will play the same role as last year, he will definitly play more than last year, but he will have split it up so he can still have fresh legs to return kicks. I see bennet, davis, and hass in a rotation role when we go to 3 and 4 wr sets and no te's are out there (especially on long yardage situations, which we will see all the freakin time!). I hope they give hass a chance cause he puts his body out there to make the catch much like waddle did back in the day. We need someone like that!

I just thought it was funny that majority of the voters believe that grossman will take an edge after Saturdays game. Orton completed 70% of his passes for 56 yards and rex completed 50% of his passes for 44 yards. The td was more of wolfes ability than rexs performance. Also how many of rexs plays came against the KC defensive starters. We will see who pulls ahead now that rex will be playing some defensive starters. I thought Kyle did a good job, and will not be surprised if Kyle does pretty good coming of the bench.

Sorry pix, I just can't bring myself to be as optomistic as you are. We went against a Chiefs defense that lost Jared Allen, and didn't have the moster DT playing in Glen Dorsey. They will quite possibly be the weakest defensive fronts in this league. I would have to believe that we could swing a deal for a 3rd or 4th rd draft pick next year to get a quality guy. Heck the elite players are only getting 3rd rd picks in todays market. Rarely do you see a team offer a second or a 1st. Maybe on incentives, but I would think that to get a quality o-lineman, a third rder would be sufficient. Not to at least bring in one guy is just too much to risk. I'm not only talking about the possibility that our line could suck (it may or may not) I'm talking about how we are 1 injury away from being a sliding door the the opponents defensive front.
-
Screw that! The Mannings are the only ones I could fathom. I see no need to trade away anyone other than one of the mannings . I don't know how much we would get for either, but probably not a top tier O-linemen. Why do we need to trade a player? You see it every year when a team realizes due to injury they can't make do with what they have. Last year the panthers realized this and traded for our safety c. harris. They didn't lose a player. I say if this organization opens their eyes and sees what we all see they should trade a pick from next year. If going for a top tier lineman, throw out a 3rd rd pick. If just a serviceable guy, one that will be average but with potential throw them a 4th or 5th rd pick. My goodness if other teams can do it we should be able to. Carolina benefited from it. The real list we should be disecting is the list of teams that are deep at o-line who may be willing to part ways with one of their own for a 3rd,4th,or 5th rd pick. Maybe someone like the bengals, eagles, phins, rams, jags, broncos theres got to be some teams willing to part with a player they don't necessarily need due to their depth. Heck I'm all for trading away one of the mannings whoever will save us the most (probably manning jr) and signing bentley to take his place. Somethings gotta give because we're really screwed if tait or st clair go down. Could you imagine if tait goes down? Get someone valuable in here jerry that way we can count on beekman to be strickly a back-up plan. If we trade away our 3rd rd pick and get a good value at o-line then we trade one of the mannings to the browns and try to get a 4th or 5th for them. Lose a 3rd, get a 5th. We may be dropping two rds, but we're also getting the help for this years line. Heck, I'd be willing to bet given our outlook of what teams think we'll do this year there will be teams jumping on a 3rd rd pick because they may perceive us as having a high rd pick. Like I said the real value is getting what you need. Trading a player for another will not work because teams aren't going to give you crap for anyone but a player who is a good contributor to this team. What would you give for a 3rd or 4th string defensive player?

Thanks, Oh yeah the whole bulger thing wasn't even the funniest. One of the guys, I believe in the 14th rd took benson. I was laughing so hard I damn near pissed myself. Everyone looked at me wondering what I was laughing at. I looked at the dude and said thanks Now I can pick ricky williams. Then I said benson didn't even play for the bears anymore and that he hasn't been picked up yet, nor does it look like he will. That guy was pretty ticked, he wasted his 14th rd pick on benson when people like brandon jacobs, ricky williams, and jonathon stewart were still on the board. I'm telling you all, it's like stealing candy from a baby. I am worried about one team though because he got both LT and Moss. For the most part, 8 out of the 10 owners didn't know what they were doing. I mean c'mon taking palmer then gore when moss is still there. I like gore, but he don't have a qb, and moss obviously does. I'd have taken maybe palmer and moss. That's just my thinking though. I like who I have. Oh yeah, people were taking guys like desean jackson, limas sweed, robert meachem, and other guys who may luck out to see the field on 3 wr sets when I got up I noticed Amani Toomer was still there. Sure he's older, but he's far more likely to see the field more than some of the picks that these guys were taking.
-
Yeah, tell me about it. The two picks before my 20th overall was in this order: T.O. at 18 and Randy Moss at 19. I was just drooling then had a nail driven into my heart. Could you have imagined AP, and either T.O. or Randy Moss to go with my roster. Sure I wouldn't have had Derek Anderson, but likely would have been able to get Favre in the 10th rd. Oh well, I still think I'm solid.

I took peterson for this reason. He'll be playing the afc south. With the exception of the jags, I think he's set for a good year. His offensive line is arguably better than LTs, its only his second year so he doesn't have the wear on it, and I was a little skeptical of how well LT will do without lorenzo neal paving the way. Also add in the fact that berrian should keep defenses honest for the most part. Yeah, there was a run on them after peterson the picks went down like this: 2. tomlinson 3. brady 4. manning 5. brees 6. jackson 7. westbrook 8. johnson 9. gore 10. palmer 11. bulger So, by the time I was up the two best options were either favre or anderson. I felt like with all andersons weapons (b edwards, d stallworth, k winslow jr, and their offensive line being a strength he was the right pick.

I just wanted anyone interested to tell me what they thought of the draft I did today... 1st overall pick - Adrian Peterson 20th pick - Derek Anderson 21st pick - Thomas Jones 40th pick - Steve Smith 41st pick - TJ whos your momma 60th pick - Fred Taylor 61st pick - Hines Ward 80th pick - Bears D/ST 81st pick - Alge Crumpler 100th pick - Jeff Garcia 101st pick - Ricky Williams 120th pick - Heath Miller 121st pick - Amani Toomer 140th pick - Cleveland D/ST So, My overall Depth chart will be: QB - Derek Anderson, Jeff Garcia RB - Adrian Peterson, Thomas Jones, Fred Taylor, Ricky Williams WR - Steve Smith, TJ Housmenzadah, Hines Ward, Amani Toomer TE - Alge Crumpler, Heath Miller D/ST - Chicago, Cleveland What do all of you think did I do good, bad, or just Okay. I'm biased and think my team is loaded, but I'll take any opinions with a grain of salt.

Wow, I just swallowed some vomit when I saw that list! I mean seriously, if I were to print that list off right now, the only thing I could think to do with it would be to wipe my butt. Then again, that would be doing the opposite of what toilet paper is meant to do!!! The underlines I completely see your point!

Yeah, well in 2005 Kyle went 10-5 with 9 tds and 13 ints rex has 14 tds with 13 ints in his first 15 games. Here's the big factor. In Orton's career he only has 2 multiple int games whereas rex to this point has 10. Kyle threw two picks in his rookie year against the saints and 5 against the bengals. rex has more games where he just can't stop turning the ball over. I'll take the 9 and 13 to the 14 and 13 anyday if we don't give the ball away multiple times a game. If rex can stop his horrible games great, he'd be a good qb, but if not kyle at least has a track record of not doing it multiple times in a game.

Coaches cut him after the last preseason game because he sucked, which is why I said the coaches screwed Kyle. Throwing the lamb out to the wolves!
-
That is the game I was talking about in a different post. Yeah, I think 5 of his career interceptions were in that game. I will remind you that the weather was very bad. Sure rain is rain, but I remember that game vividly. My cousin is a Bengals fan and he and I had a bet on that game. The real reason why I remember it is because it was the last game we watched together before he went to iraq. Like I said it was raining, and rain is rain. However the field was saturated to the point that the players looked like they were on a slip and slide. Odell Thurman picked one of Kyle's passes off a deflection off of I believe gage. There were also a lot more screw ball plays in that game, so Yeah he had a bad game. But he was a rookie, and played his first game under such bad conditions. I like to look at the difference from his rookie year to now which I see a big difference. Last year against the packers the weather was really bad as well and he didn't have a bad game, heck he did better than favre some may say. So everyone like bomber and azbearsfan and bears 88 just look at his rookie year and think they have seen enough of him because he didn't come in and explode like sooo many college qbs do after they get thrown in the starters role after the last preseason game. RIGHT????? Fact is that until this year Orton has been put into an unfair position. Now this is the year that he can prove right or wrong, and from what I've seen the last couple of starts he may need a few weeks to get a rhythme, but he could definitely be a servicable qb bears 88 note I'm not saying he'll be a pro-bowler or a HOF'er just a servicable. If he's more than that we all will see. Rex on the other hand had what? 3 years of on the bench his first being healthy behind jim miller, then two more rehabing and taking notes. Then he looked good in 06 for the first half, but choked mostly the rest of the way. Then last year's debacle. There's no reason not to say they should both be on a level playing field because as much as rex has looked good he's taken it away by looking horrible. Kyle we just don't know yet unless you count the rookie year our coaches screwed him.
-
Here's another question for anyone who has the answers, I know they both have thrown pics, and a pic is a pic, but how many of each qb's pics are actually from a deflection. I remember kyle's horrible game his rookie year against the bengals, and how wet it was and seem to remember that a couple were from defections that went off our own players into the defenses hands. I believe kyle's pic against minny last year was off a deflection from our own teammate. So my question is this: A pic is a pic, but not necessarily the qbs fault if it is off our own guy, it just seems like many of rex's are from him just throwing the long ball up for grabs and the defender making a play on it. Maybe its just me, but I still and will continue to feel this way until I see more than just spot duty from Kyle. Azbearfan just loves to rag on ortons ROOKIE year. How about all three of Rexs rookie years?

Through the entire draft I was really hoping for Albert, then Hills from texas. We would have a lot less questions today had we gone that route, not to mention there would have been a fair shot at landing forte with the 1st third round pick and bennett with the second. But, its all a moot point today, just wish JA would do something with the main factor of our offense rebounding (OFFENSIVE LINE!). If we go into indy with St. Clair as the LT and turnstyle metcalf we can expect to see Hanie some point this year cause both rex and kyle will receive too much punishment to play the full year.

That's funny, I don't recall anyone in this argument saying Wolfe should be the starter or get a larger majority of the carries than forte. I do recall a few saying that he's a better 3rd down running back than peterson. Regardless of what bomber thinks Wolfe showed more promise in the limited amount of 3rd down carries than peterson did last year. Sure peterson is a capable back to take the 3rd down packages, but in wolfe's limited tries last year he showed more promise. He can take the screen pass for huge gains primarily because of his open field style of running which ap doesn't possess. So not even giving him a chance this year is a waste of talent. Besides this point is irrelevant, because from the way things look in TC wolfe is getting a lot of carries and I look for him to be the 3rd down change of pace back. AP does things well, but not great, and wolfe's ability to make people miss is great. AP is better suited to take the captain spot on Special teams, because BA is a big loss for that unit and he's too similar to forte and jones to be the 3rd down back. Look at what bradshaw did for the giants last year, I am more than confident that wolfe could do that for us this year.

Panthers send Smith home after fight with Lucas

Sorry, but I think you're really mislead by your assumptions on Wolfe, any running back that can do this can be a factor in the NFL. Needless to say the packers defense is pretty good in their own rights. You obviously don't give wolfe enough credit with his speed and ability to make someone miss. Was that Barrnett that he made look silly? If the coaches have your mentality, they are screwing over the team, because wolfe has more open field moves than peterson. Don't get me wrong I like peterson, but he doesn't have the same ability as opposed to wolfe's ability to pick up third and longs that some wouldn't think possible. Peterson is more like forte and jones with less talent or ability. Wolfe is a completely different runner than all three of the others. If you can't see that your just intentionally being bias. And if you didn't see anything from that highlight, click on the screen pass to wolfe in the New Orleans game. He has what it takes, and a lot more!
