Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. Started by ASHKUM BEAR,

The Bears were god awful running the ball last year. Blame who you want, but this is an area that has to be fixed. IMO, we will be looking to add a RB to compete. The NFL is a funny place for RB's. Ryan Grant GB, was an undrafted FA and had an almost Probowl season in limited action (7 starts). He finsihed w/ 986yds, give him 9 more games and he breaks 2000. The point of this is, as much as we'd love to see Mendenhall/Stewart in a Bears uniform, it's not the best decision for the Bears. We have a first RD back in Benson for 1 more year with a solid back up warrior in AP. Wolfe will provide a nice change of pace if used correctly. The Bears first priority needs to…

per walterfootball.com Don't how credible Charlie Campbell is, but this makes for great talk regardless. If they traded way up for Blackmon and signed Finley, that would be a GREAT offseason. However, I'd rather see them hold onto the picks it'd take to get Blackmon and use those to get younger on D and better on O. Trading 2 first rounds + a 2nd is a bit much for an unknown commodity. Blackmon would be an offensive improvement obviously, but that's just 1 guy and leaves a lot to be desired on the OL.

Why did the Bears front office lie about this instead of telling the truth from the beginning. This actually makes the situation look worse. I would love to hear Angelo's explanation of this. Peace http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...s082408.article

Retweeted by Michael C. Wright Tom Pelissero ‏@TomPelissero 2m Willie Young agreed to a 3-year, $9M deal with #Bears that included a $2M signing bonus and $3.95M total guaranteed. I know a few guys here liked him, I wasn't that big a fan, but he's no doubt a starter in this league. It's cheap enough that we could add yet another DE (I want Babin). He's an upgrade over Wootton/SMC so that's a plus. PFF had this to say about him Willie Young, Edge Defender - Took his chance in 2013 to emerge as a starting caliber defensive end, really developing his game into someone you can trust to play more than just a situational role. 9. I can see either any of the three RBs currently on roster being the primary RB, but I don't think any will get a ton of carries. I think it'll be a three-headed monster this year, with Forte slowly getting more carries by year's end. What I'd love to see is Wolfe get the majority of the carries in the beginning of the year. We've already seen what Peterson can do, and I love the guy, but he's not capable of doing anything spectacular in the NFL from what we've seen. Wolfe, on the other hand, could cause some serious damage and break off long runs/catches. He's a wild card, a guy that the defense could have problems with. What do you want to see? What do you…

The skill of the players has overcome inept coaching for the last few years. It is so clear to see out on the field. Nagy replaced Trubisky with Foles and now after a few games, it is clear that QB was not the problem. If Nagy is unwilling to have someone else take over playcalling and admit fault (which started in KC), he needs to be fired. If he is willing to do that, then he can stay on as the HC. Otherwise, I am done with him. I don't care about the record, we are underachieving.

Jen Lada ‏@JenLada 21m21 minutes ago Hearing the #Bears are close on a 3 yr deal w/ Mason Foster. ILB has been a FA target since beginning. #NFLFreeAgency Jen Lada ‏@JenLada 20m20 minutes ago New Bears DB coach Ed Donatell was Foster's Def Coordinator at Washington in 2008. LB was Huskies defensive MVP that season. Jen had been right about Rolle. Would be a good signing. Read he struggled in coverage last year, but also read somewhere else that he was real good the year before. Young, talented, immediate star…

  9. This team is 4-5 and with better closing efforts against Minnesota and Detroit, we're 6-3 and leading the division. Not saying this team isn't flawed because it is and they'd likely lose in the playoffs pretty quick. But the NFC is pretty lousy so who knows? Just WIN baby. Just win.

  11. http://chicagobearsfanforum.com/blog/?p=248 There is an old saying which everyone knows. It goes, “Curiosity killed the cat.” But there are times when I wonder if we football fans take this saying too far. This was never more evident to me than when I heard other Bear fans comment on the ”Spygate” situation in New England. This seems to me to be a rich, multifaceted story that many fans should be interested in. But I often find that instead, quite a number of those I've talked to would rather see it die a quiet death, never to rear its head again. The only thing I can figure is that many fans treat the NFL as a league as they do their own teams. Bear fans a…

Mulligan of the Sun Times said the following, "It's a reason why anyone who thinks Muhammad was a bad free-agent signing by the Bears is uninformed. " For the record, part of his reasoning was/is that MM was a great run blocking WR, a role that is under-appreciated w/ WRs. Further, after stating that only the uninformed would consider MM a bad FA signing, he then mentions Thomas Smith (CB) who was signed back in 2000. I would agree Smith was a worse signing. I would even agree he was a far worse signing. But that doesn't mean MM was a good signing. As I recall, MM signed w/ the bears in early '05 to a 6 year deal. I full value of the contract varied, a…

Go Bears! Does Fox continue his AFC West dominance tonight? Does Cutler break Luckman's TD Record? Does Langford outduel Gordon? Does Mariani have a legit return? Does our Special Teams not allow a return TD? So much drama!

  17. August 18, 2008 Orton chosen over Grossman as starting quarterback By Larry Mayer LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The suspense about who would line up under center Sept. 7 in the season opener in Indianapolis ended Monday when Kyle Orton was anointed the Bears’ starting QB. Coach Lovie Smith cited several factors in choosing Orton over Rex Grossman, concluding a widely publicized competition that began in the spring and continued into the summer. Kyle Orton has compiled a 12-6 record as a starting quarterback in three seasons. “To come to a decision like that, we’ve taken a lot of things into consideration—last year, how we finished the season, OTAs, …

Okay, conspiracy theory in me here. Some years back, Angelo had a coach he didn't want. At that time, think back on how active we were in FA. Something between little and nothing was added in FA. Angelo did VERY little to upgrade this team during that time, and it showed in how weak our personnel was. Then Jauron is gone, and he gets the coach he wants in Lovie. Nearly immediately, he begins to be a player in FA. We then see him making some big moves like adding Tait, Wale and Moose, among others. Now look at this offseaosn. It starts out w/ all the talk from Lovie indicating he believes the team has the talent, and only coaching has held them b…

I have bad mouthed Trent Dilfer for many years due to his Jay Cutler hate. Well pigs must be flying or I just hear Trent praise Jay Cutler. Trent raved about the new Jay- said if you watch the game film he is doing the right things, reading Defenses, mechanics etc etc Puts him right on the fringe of the Manning, Rodger, Breese and Brady level of QB's. Trent explained why for many years he was critical of Jay and why he is now on the Jay bandwagon Said his mechanics are great now. that he has bought into the process of being a great one/ team leader (from talking to guys that have worked with him since Trest showed up) and that he would take Jay any day …
