I am in the camp that if he is there, you take him at 7. I hate saying it too, but I think he has all the tools to be a bonafide star. The key is that you are comfortable with him maturing, etc, and obviously you get comfort on his off-the-field matters. I believe him to be the best QB to come out since Luck and one of the best QB talents of the last 10 years. PS: I don't expect him to be available at 7 and he's the only QB I would pick this early. I've also said if Hundley is their in the 2nd, I take him. As a whole, someone could say QB isn't our biggest need, and I'd agree, but I think his football skills grade him out as a worthy #1 overall pick at a huge imp…

I just wanted to point out how good this guy has been. He has done everything from big hits, open field tackles, etc. He is a hybrid of Colvin/Hillenmeyer... can do the grunt work and also make the big play. Id really like to see more of Bostic and Greene, cuz they are the long term. However, DJ and Anderson have done well. I loved on the pick6 when he plowed Cotchery, ha...

Another LB. Good depth and fits the scheme. 275 tackles from 2010-2012 (2 years).

For the Oline specialists out there what are your thoughts on James Brown? In his first couple games he was getting pushed around a lot, he still needs to improve his strength IMO. Lately he seems to settling into the role at LG and I thought he played ok today. Cutler had a lot of time to throw throughout the game and as someone who has watched more Cards games than most they do have a good pass rush. We still can't open holes inside for the running game but did seal the edge a few times for some nice gains. Is there potential for this guy to be on the roster next year? Better than Spencer/EWilliams at LG?

Just curious on the thought of moving Daniel's back to center. I think that is were he flourishes, if he can overcome the mental aspects. I would feel better about it if the Bears can have a probowler like Warford on his right, but just read those talks are off. Still thought it would be worth considering. It is a difficult thought since it didn't work the first attempt, so do they scrap that idea? As a guard, he is not strong enough. At center, he wasn't ready to make the reads and calls. The organization is at a win at all costs point to save their jobs. What do they do?

It is PFF and their subjective evaluations but I think we all know Daniels is improving each week. Still some things are just indisputable facts like the statement below. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-after-a-slow-start-bears-guard-james-daniels-is-emerging-as-a-top-rookie-lineman Much more at the link.. In Week 11, Daniels was tasked with stopping many of the Minnesota Vikings’ large-bodied linemen. Throughout the game, he blocked Everson Griffen, Linval Joseph and Sheldon Richardson, among others. On 40 pass-block snaps, he allowed 0 pressures to a unit with the seventh-most sacks and 14th-most pressures. Since Joseph joined the Vikings in…

I completely missed that James Daniels was on the field for about half the offensive snaps. Brad Biggs has a nice summary of it. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-bears-10-thoughts-brad-biggs-buccaneers-20181001-story.html That might be the first time I've ever seen an Oline rotate guards throughout a game. It will be interesting to see where we go from here after the bye week. This draft class looks better each week: Roquan starter, Daniels (soon to be starter?), Miller (starter), Iggy (backup/special teams), Nichols (already in Dline rotation), Fitts (inactive), Wims (will he take Kevin White's snaps soon?)

This is one wide receiver I want the Bears to draft. He just ran a 4'4 forty at 6'5 so that will definitely boost his draft stock. He has huge hands which makes him a pretty solid Possession receiver but he can also beat you with the deep ball. If I were Jerry Angelo I'd be thinkin about taking this guy with our number 1 pick, maybe number 2 (But I doubt it now).

Why don't we take a chance? He did a great job with GB when given the opportunity and he has a huge upside. He would look good next to Knox and Williams.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/...-to-linebacker/ Jared Allen “having fun” with move to linebacker Posted by Josh Alper on June 3, 2015, 4:24 PM EDT Jared Allen AP When Jared Allen was with the Vikings, he balked at the idea of moving from defensive end to outside linebacker. On Wednesday, Allen chalked that up to “ignorance” while discussing the very same transition that he’s making with the Bears this offseason. Allen said that he thinks he’ll be doing the same kinds of things at his new spot, but that playing linebacker will be “easier on my body.” “My body feels fresher because I’m not banging every single day and putting my hands …

Bears assistant's son is top Cover-2 corner prospect By Vaughn McClure The National Football Post did an interesting breakdown of this year's draft prospects. The player atop the list of Cover-2 corners stands out: Jarius Byrd of Oregon. He is the son of Gill Byrd, the Bears assistant defensive backs coach. The Bears are in the market for a cornerback, and Byrd -- who declared early -- seems to be an ideal fit. Byrd, a three-year starter, had 17 career interceptions, one off the school record. Nathan Vasher might not be in the mix next season and the Bears need another corner alongside Charles Tillman, who is recovering from shoulder surgery. Corey Graha…
