  1. So it seems that the offseason moves have improved pretty much every facet of the team. If you look at it from a high level, on offense, the passing game should be improved, and at worst, the running game should be the same. The Bears added Moore, Wright, and Davis, as well as Foreman, Johnson, Scott, and Tonyan, and really only "lost" Montgomery since losing Mustipher is an upgrade in itself. If the offense is better and has some additional TOP, then the defense will be a little more rested and potentially get off the field a few more times. On defense, the run defense was historically bad. With the additions to the DLine and LB Corps, the run defense should be…

I will see things on the internet and want to drop the info but doesnt fit in a specific thread. Mike Lombard in regularly on the SCORE during football season. He has always condemned Justin Fields and his NFL potential. He was on the McAfree Show and they were talking about Jordon Love and the Packers. He said everyone is underestimating Love and the team. Then was asked about the Bears and said that he doesnt see Fields having the ability to be a top QB in this league. He makes a comment and even thou the upside of Fields has changed, has to double down on his first comments so he can be the smartest guy in the room. He's a PUD. as a Bears fan&gt…

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere but Teven was on the radio with Jeff Joniak. He sounds like he's in a much better place mentally this year and more focused on his craft. His interview starts around 12min mark.

It feels like Poles likes certain position groups at a specific height range and weight range. Will he make contract decisions based of those numbers? Is he picking players based on physical characteristics? Here is a look at the roster from a height/weight perspective: The odd players in the position groups for height are: QB - Walker under 6'2" (5'11") RB - Herbert under 5'10" (5'9") WR - all 5'10" or above TE - all 6'4" or above OL - all 6'2" or above DL - Billings under 6'3" (6'1") LB - all 6'0" or above DB - all 5'11" or above The odd players in the position groups for weight are: QB - all over 210 lbs RB - all over 200 lbs WR - …

I listened to a Podcast about redrafting the Bears players if you were starting a new franchise with the obvious #1 choice being Fields. Then after that though, if you weigh previous performance and projected output, who would your next 5 players be? I am thinking it would be Moore, Edmunds, Jaylon Johnson, Wright, and maybe Brisker or Jackson. What do you think? Either way, I found it interesting that 3 out of the top 5 are new acquisitions, and if you go with Brisker, 4 out of 5 are from Poles. That really is pushing the depth chart down. Even guys off the list like Stevenson push Vildor to lead CB-backup role that he fits better in. Borom becomes a swing tack…

A couple things I'll be looking for in reports from the OTAs...(assuming these players show up) At the top of my list is Justin Fields with quick feet. That sounds odd for one of the fastest QBs in NFL history but I want to see him demonstrate quick change of direction with his feet on short passes. Snap to the right, snap to the left, just like an elite basketball defender. Keep his feet and throwing mechanics aligned as he goes through his reads and get rid of those poor habits of twisting his body and arm to hit a WR on a bubble screen or a late decision to hit the RB in the flat. Justin with continued improvement on his arm/throwing motion. He worked o…

  9. Now that most of free agency and the draft is over, our Bears have obviously improved. What degree will the roster improvement help us? Our three win season could be debated that we were better than that, while others may say that we were taken lightly. So, as water seeks it own level, we sought ours. In looking at the improvements, the WR room benefited the most, by getting a stud receiver. Getting Moore places all the others where they belong in the food chain. In the background, it places greater motivation for Mooney and Claypool to produce. (Especially Claypool because we know how Mooney works) The LB corps is now one of the best in the league, after …

In total the ‘23 draft yielded 3 WR in DJ Moore, Chase Claypool, and Tyler Scott. Collectively that’s a pretty good haul for a single draft. I definitely believe Scott was best available when we took him. He hedges things a bit with resigning Mooney and to a lesser extent Claypool. With Scott on board it brought to mind a question about how would a team defend a 5 WR set. I include Velus in this not ESB because he is the better runner. Fields can run of course so we don’t need a RB on the field. You’ve got potential jet sweeps from either side with Scott or VJJ. Potential routes at all levels of the field. Going to a dime defense leaves a single LB on…

Gotta start with players still on the board: Kelee Ringo heads the list followed by those dudes below.. If the Bears want Tomi he's there for the taking. I think he's too similar to what we already have on the roster but don't mind at all if they take a chance on him. Other than him there isn't really anyone else standing out at the top of this list in terms of needs so a trade back seems appropriate if we have a good offer. DE is the obvious critical need but at this point in the draft the talent isn't there. Many of us have been clamoring for a new Center, myself included, but Greg Gabriel made a very good point after Rd 1 when he said with so …

Lots of threads speak about the draft. I thought I would stick predictions in one spot I think Carter drops and that's our pick. 9)Jalen Carter/DT 53) Joe Tippmann/OC 61) Mathew Bergeron/OT 64) Derick Hall/edge 103) I think he trades this pick to NE ( could be any team. NE is always trading picks and has 3 in the 4 th round) gets pick 107 and 117. 107) Chase Brown/RB 117) Riley Moss/CB 133) Karl Brooks/DT 136) Jake Witt) OL 148) Cameron Latu/ TE 218) Matt Landers) WR 258) Jose Ramirez/Edge He's going to make some later day trades but to hard to guess when Poles . Not many people project a WR to us in the first round, but JSN is an interesting prospect. JSN projects to be a Cooper Kupp type of receiver, due to his physicality, short area quickness and great route running. I was listening to ESPN 1000 today and the hosts mentioned that the need for good receivers helps develop a QB better than a good OL. (I don't subscribe to that theory, but they made good argument) At this point, I don't see is going that route unless we trade back to get him in the mid teens. That would also mean we get our OL, DL, edge and BPA in the second and third rounds. Thoughts?
