With no deal close with the New England Patriots, Randy Moss continues to explore all options in his first professional exposure to free agency. On Saturday night, he came up with an interesting idea. He reached out to Daunte Culpepper, his former quarterback with the Minnesota Vikings. The two former teammates discussed the possibility of finishing what they started in Minn…

Michael Turner, who has been the Chargers' insurance policy for LaDainian Tomlinson, agreed to a six-year, $34.5 million contract with the Falcons, with $15 million guaranteed, a source told ESPN.com's Michael Smith. Turner gained 316 yards on 71 carries with one touchdown last season.

  4. Was it the year Thomas Jones & the Medicine woman signed on opening day? I believe Moose signed before FA even started. I mainly ask, because every year during this weekend, I'm glued to the Radio & computer waiting to hear big news, and it never happens.

  5. Started by Alaskan Grizzly,

I REALLY wish the Bears could have signed Turner but oh well. At this point, I think the Bears should stick with (what I hope to be) their original plan. Draft a decent OL in the 1st, Flacco in the 2nd. and whatever else for 3rd - 7th. As far as RB goes, because Turner is gone, they should look at the idea of getting someone like Julius Jones, Labrandon Toefield, TJ Duckett or even Mewelde Moore. Mostly because these are more the type of back the Bears need to offset Benson and will come with a decent sticker price and they are all UFA's. If I were Angelo and knowing the Bears are a running team then I would work on a deal to get Marion Barber. Much more diff…

It's great to see Briggs back, even though I was prepared to see him leave. So, what's next JA? The papers say your working on our own players to extend contracts, but shouldn't you be looking at adding an outside piece here or there? Or, are you trying to extend our own (Harris, Url, Hester, Anderson) to gauge what there mindsets for $$ is so you know where our cap space will be for the next couple of years. Those guys are players we want for sure to be around long term and if we can get them extended now, the better. If extensions cannot be worked out, at least we know what were up against next time at the contract table. Hopefully in the next week or two…

There is a possibility we are gonna make a run for Turner? I didnt think so at first but now watching them sit idle I could see them trying. We know they want to bring in a RB for competition Benson.

Brandon Lloyd (would need to be a minimum contract - not sure what he brings to us) We need to go get one of these. We cannot go into next season with our current group of receivers. Peace

Here is the article from the Trib's website as reported by Vaughn McClure: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...briggs-chicago- Looks like it is a six year $36 million deal that locks him up. Briggs said it was not about the money however, with the way he acted last year receiving the franchise tag makes you think otherwise. Now what do they do with Brian and Tommie to keep the two of them happy. In a way I think this is good that for once we keep our core linebackers together, it just creates new problems that need to be resolved as well.

From PFT: 'SKINS MADE A PLAY FOR BRIGGS Though the decision of linebacker Lance Briggs to re-sign with the Bears has created the impression that he had no options elsewhere, a league source tells us that the Redskins made a run at Briggs. It was, per the source, "very close" between the Redskins and the Bears. In the end, Briggs decided given the similarity of the numbers to stay home. Factoring in the $7.2 million salary he earned as a franchise player in 2007, Briggs will earn $28.8 million over four years. Factoring in the Lamborghini he crashed and abandoned, the number is more like $28.3 million.

It's awesome we've inked Briggs. Yet our weakness has been offense, and so far the only thing we've done is dump 2 o-lineman, and lose our best WR to a division rival. Don't we have to bring a play-maker in here? Assuming we're only going to pay one (we still need to sign an offensive guard) would you rather have Michael Turner or Bryan Johnson? These are the two best available at their positions. I hope like hell we're able to land one of the two. No way we'd get both (or one for that matter.)

  19. I'm not blaming the media, like a desperate politician. However, is it me, or no matter what, the Bears (and I'm just talking ownership, management, and coaches)look like morons in the press. Much of it I believe is deserved, however there's some of it that just seems like it's prepetuating a non-existant myth. The only good thing you hear about the organization is Hester. Much of it obviously deserved. I think it does make a good story, especially when the team's record is what it was last season. As much as the media loves the Pat's, it seems like they bash teams like the Raiders, Lion, Caridnals, Bengals and Bears regardless. I'm necessarily "tire…
