Here is the article from the Trib's website as reported by Vaughn McClure: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...briggs-chicago- Looks like it is a six year $36 million deal that locks him up. Briggs said it was not about the money however, with the way he acted last year receiving the franchise tag makes you think otherwise. Now what do they do with Brian and Tommie to keep the two of them happy. In a way I think this is good that for once we keep our core linebackers together, it just creates new problems that need to be resolved as well.

From PFT: 'SKINS MADE A PLAY FOR BRIGGS Though the decision of linebacker Lance Briggs to re-sign with the Bears has created the impression that he had no options elsewhere, a league source tells us that the Redskins made a run at Briggs. It was, per the source, "very close" between the Redskins and the Bears. In the end, Briggs decided given the similarity of the numbers to stay home. Factoring in the $7.2 million salary he earned as a franchise player in 2007, Briggs will earn $28.8 million over four years. Factoring in the Lamborghini he crashed and abandoned, the number is more like $28.3 million.

It's awesome we've inked Briggs. Yet our weakness has been offense, and so far the only thing we've done is dump 2 o-lineman, and lose our best WR to a division rival. Don't we have to bring a play-maker in here? Assuming we're only going to pay one (we still need to sign an offensive guard) would you rather have Michael Turner or Bryan Johnson? These are the two best available at their positions. I hope like hell we're able to land one of the two. No way we'd get both (or one for that matter.)

I'm not blaming the media, like a desperate politician. However, is it me, or no matter what, the Bears (and I'm just talking ownership, management, and coaches)look like morons in the press. Much of it I believe is deserved, however there's some of it that just seems like it's prepetuating a non-existant myth. The only good thing you hear about the organization is Hester. Much of it obviously deserved. I think it does make a good story, especially when the team's record is what it was last season. As much as the media loves the Pat's, it seems like they bash teams like the Raiders, Lion, Caridnals, Bengals and Bears regardless. I'm necessarily "tire…

Apparantly we won't have to ask, "Is Williams still visiting Chicago now we resigned Briggs???" Shortly after the Bears signed Briggs, he agreed to terms with the Chiefs. Here's the PFT story below: CHIEFS HAUL IN WILLIAMS The free-agency frenzy continues, even late into a Saturday night. According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, the Chiefs have agreed to terms with former Falcons linebacker Demorrio Williams on a five-year, $16 million contract. The deal includes $5.5 million in guaranteed money.

He is a great tackler but doesn't make impact plays. He has 5.5 sacks and 6 ints in 5 yrs. Url has 37.5 sacks and 15 ints in 8 yrs. He has overvalued himself and may be waiting by the phone for a while. Just watching the NFL network and the analysts agreed his best move would be to stay with the Bears. Peace

http://ww3.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=1394 Was that Berrian? You betcha March 1st, 2008 – 12:12 PM by Judd Zulgad An odd thing happened as media members waited in the Winter Park practice facility for the Madieu Williams’ news conference to begin. A Vikings official and someone wearing a Vikings cap and with a Vikings jersey in his arm emerged from the team’s weight room. First thought: Did we just see Bernard Berrian? It certainly wasn’t Williams and it looked like Berrian. (Update: After examining his picture in the Bears media guide, we are now sure it was the 6-foot-1 Berrian.) Later in the Williams’ news conference Vikings coach Brad Chil…

per ESPN. Good signing by them... depending on the cash. Provides a good speed/deep threat to compliment Edwards.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7859190...-Bill-for-picks The Jags got what seems to be the going rate in a 3rd and 5th rounder. Good deal for the Bills, decent for the Jags. The Jags have depth at DT so the loss won't be that big, but Stroud was a real good player for them... but will he ever be the same after his injury?

from the Sun Times. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bear01.article Would love to see Rosensleaze having to come back to Angelo to talk contract. JA should tell him no negotiations - this is the contract, take it or leave it. I still think Berrian is gone. Peace

WILLIAMS LINES UP VISITS Adam Caplan of Scout.com reports that Falcons free-agent linebacker Demorrio Williams has already lined up visits with the Chiefs, Bucs, and Bears. Williams plays on the weak side. In Chicago, he could be the replacement for Lance Briggs.

The Bears are working to set up a visit with free agent WR Bryant Johnson. It'd be Johnson's first visit. He could be in Chicago by early next week. It's no surprise that the overrated wideout isn't being highly sought after.

with St Louis for 5 yrs 14 million with a 5 million signing bonus. This gives you a ball park at how much Robbie Gould is going to cost. Peace

Offense: Tom Brady (QB, New England), Adrian Peterson (RB, Minnesota) Defense: Bob Sanders (S, Indianapolis), Jared Allen (DE, Kansas City) Special Teams: Devin Hester (KR/PR, Chicago), Mat McBriar (P, Dallas) Now, if this team was an expansion team, they'd have the first overall pick. With that pick, I'd take Jake Long. Your turn.
