Very interesting. I assume Kwit is gone and we re-sign KPL as the primary backup. I also hope this is a team friendly deal in the sense the last year of the deal is probably a team option meaning little cap hit if we cut him. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2020/03/12/bears-sign-danny-trevathan-to-three-year-extension/

We've drafted a CB who is going to immediately fit right into this backfield. He might not be the most athletic (maybe more quick than fast) but listen to Bryant McFadden talk about what he brings to the table. This kid will be playing early this season. This is the kind of CB you want playing behind a good pass rush.

I need someone to help me understand why all the pundits etc. are making such a big deal about all the tight ends on the roster in April. Should they not bring in perhaps one better then all of them just because they have to many. Maybe they should only bring 60 players to training camp. You don't need 90+. I thought the idea was to have the best 53 when the season starts not in April. And on a side note. Today is the day my wife and I were to leave for our long planned month long trip to Europe. In the world we live in it's not a big price to pay compared to so many. But it was something we had planned for a year.

This season could be very interesting as different governors react differently to this year's pandemic. I say this year's pandemic because we have one every few years and most are worse than the current one. Anyway as I look at our schedule I see an away game in Week 1 at Detroit. That being one state where the governor refuses to let people sit alone in a boat. I'd say there's a good chance we don't have fans at that game and that's a big help for us. Later we have Week 7 in LA where we have another governor who is now worried about a 3rd wave of Coronavirus. That should be another great opportunity to see a level playing field on the road. OTOH I don't live in I…

The Franchise Tag's deadline is tomorrow. The new league year starts on March 17th (next Wednesday), so the Bears will have to get under the cap by that date. If they tag ARob, they would have to shed a ton of salary to get under the cap in a week. The only options I see are the following: 1. Franchise Tag and renegotiate a long-term deal to lessen the cap hit in 2021. 2. Tag and trade 3. Let him go to free agency, but still work a deal with him 4. Let him go, don't pursue

  6. I thought I read someone post about the Bears putting in a bid to buy the Arlington International Racecourse as a possible location to build a new stadium but I don't see it. I'm sure most if not all of you are aware of the story. There are some fans upset saying that they don't want the Bears renamed the Arlington Heights Bears.???? I don't understand where they are coming from. The Dallas Cowboys Stadium is located in Arlington, Texas, and they remain the DALLAS Cowboys, not the Arlington Cowboys. I'm sure there are other examples. I see no reason to believe the Bears would change their name. Agree?

  7. This is a great first test with some joint practices. Those are always fun to see. Miami is very similar to the Bears, they finished 10-6, had a top 10 defense and a top 20 offense. The Bears had a slightly better defense and slightly worse offense. I think we have the edge on both sides of the ball this year. I would take the Bears units every time, thoughts? Tua/Brissett vs Dalton/Fields Gaskin/Brown vs Monty/Williams/Cohen Parker/Fuller/Waddle vs ARob/Mooney/Goodwin Gesicki/Shaheen vs Kmet/Graham/James

  8. Steelers at home only favored by 6.5 is shocking. That's only 3.5 pts on neutral field which means Vegas thinks this game will be closer than the SF game where the Bears were underdogs at home. There is a chance that Mack and Monty will be back. Borom now has a full week under his belt. I am not confident that the Bears can get a win outside of playing DET, NYG, and MIN. So this is probably a loss unless Fields takes another step in his development. The defense was literally a wet paper bag last week. If they are not better, it is going to be a long night. Steelers 31-24 Bears defense still bad, Bears offense a little better (3 TDs).

Jim Harbaugh was a pretty good coach for the 49ers. He took a 6-10 team that hadnt finished above 8-8 in eight years and did this: 2011 (13-3) Lost NFC Championship game in overtime to the Giants 20-17 2012 (11-4-1) Lost Super Bowl to Ravens 34-31 2013 (12-4) Lost NFC Championship game to Seattle 23-17 2014 (8-8) Did not go to the playoffs. Fired after the 2014 season. QB Colin Kaepernick goes on to a record of 3-16 after Harbaugh leaves. Harbaugh's 49ers record including playoffs is 49-22-1 (68%) At Michigan, Harbaugh is 61-24 (71.8%) 2015 (10-3) Won Citrus Bowl 41-7 over Florida Gators 2016 (10-3) Lost Orange Bowl 33-…

I can't help my disgust for how this team has treated Mike Hass. He can easily be this teams Wes Welker. Welker has gone through the exact same crap Hass is going through just to get his shot. These guys both have the talent and for some reason from college to the pros they were passed over. Welker finally has the stage to open up eyes and he has done so. Although he still has to fight for the credit. Mike Hass can be that same player. He is exactly the kind of receiver this team needs...Will he ever get his chance?? This is a pretty good read on Welker...

Hester was the only Bear to make it. Surprised some others didn't even make 2nd team honors. No Briggs or Harris. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true

Just reported on SC the Vikings, Bears, and Falcons (I think ATL was the 3rd team) all want McNabb. However, a journalist from Philly says they will keep him 1 more year. To make the Eagles change their mind, what would you give up for him? I'd sign and trade Rex and trade our 2nd and one of our 3rds.

Just curious. FA is very near, w/ the draft not long after. Which aspect of the offseason are you all looking forward to more? Personally, I am looking more forward to FA. OL is our greatest need (not counting QB, where I see little major change), and is the position I think Angelo has seen more quality FAs added, while also being among his weakest positions in the draft. So much hinges on our upgrading the OL, and I think that will begin w/ FA. I am so interested to see how we attack the OL in FA, and believe it will have a major impact on the draft.

The Bears released Moose per NFL.com. While I did not think he had a great year, who are we going to get to replace him? here does that leave us draft wise?

  18. Started by ASHKUM BEAR,

I have a bad feeling about this years draft. Maybe winning the GB & NO hurt us? I think most of us will be disappointed unless we either trade up or trade down. If we stay at 14, it would be a miracle to have Clady, Williams, or Mendenhall be there. Otah should be there, and I believe he'll be a great run blocking RT, but I'd rather go w/ a LT prospect. We can make Buffalo an offer to move up with our extra 3rd as I think they would be better off getting the extra pick and getting the guy they wanted at 14 all along. We can then leap frog Denver/Carolina for a shot at Clady/Williams. A lot of mocks have Clady sliding b/c he won't fit KC O-line and Wi…

Bears | Hester reportedly unhappy with contract Wed, 16 Apr 2008 20:19:34 -0700 Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears WR Devin Hester is reportedly unhappy with his contract, according to NFL Network's Deion Sanders. Sanders said, "They're looking for tremendous things from this guy, Devin Hester, but Devin Hester isn't happy with his contract and he deserves to be paid amongst the league's best." The team has only had preliminary talks with Hester's agent, Eugene Parker.
