First wave of FA is over. According to NFL Network 50 (or more) of the top 100 FA have signed with teams. He has three teams interested in him: Dallas, Seattle, and Minn. The Cowboys do not have a lot of cap space and still have a few spots to fill. Here Melton has tons of opportunity for little money. The Vikings have cap space but Melton either got no contract or didn't like what they said. Based on reports it was no contract offer. On top of that the Vikings have Floyd at the 3T spot so Melton is going to be a backup and I can't see the Vikings spending big on Melton now. Little opportunity for likely medium money. Seattle has opportunity an…

I know that Mike Martz is supposedly all right with the current wide receivers that we have however, we had a chance to obtain two of the better receivers in league during the off-season and one of the two was just recently released. The question is would you send Devin Hester to Arizona in order to obtain Anquan Boldin and would you have signed T. J. Houshmandzadeh who was released by Seattle for some reason that is not completely clear. Seattle would have to pay Houshmanzadeh the majority of the salary that he would receive after signing the free agent contract last year since Houshmanzadeh was placed on waivers. I think with the fact that Hester return skills have d…

I would say they sign a few more UDFAs and then look for a vet S. I prefer Eric Reid but there are several good ones out there. Also Clayton Geathers has ties to Pagano when he was in Indy. Every year it's hard to cover all your weaknesses you have. They did bring back bring Bush and brought in the KC guy but still needs to bring one more vet in. Also they brought in 2 OLs but that's probably not enough. So 1 more OL and S and I think we're ready to go.

  4. Here is a prediction from Yahoo sports for Forte this year. If he lived up to this projection, would it fall short of you expectations, exceed your expectations, or is this what you were expecting? I am just curious what everyone is thinking Forte will offer the Bears in 2008.

  8. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_...?urn=nfl-wp8200 Please read the comments. I'm 100% certain, those comments are not all Bears fans. Just fans of football and the man. I've heard many of the stories mentioned in the article. It just reads so salaciously and like tabloid trash. It's all out of context, assuming it's all even true. And I've heard others. But, I really see nothing greivous...just issues that eveyday people deal with all the time. It's sad, this will tarich his image. However, i think only for a moment. Once this clown writer is done with his 15 minutes of fame. All this will be pushed aside and the positives will come back to…

  9. While some are not sure about drafting a DT early 3rd, I think it worth pointing out that, other than maybe Michael Johnson, I think any of the players many here wanted w/ that early 3rd are still on the board. The way this is going, I think one or more of the WRs we might have liked (Iglesias, Murphy, Barden, etc) will still be there at the end of round 3. Also, several OL (Duke, Merideth) are still there. Sidbury is still on the board. Gilbert was not going to last much longer, but others we may want look like they will. Plus, if we want (for example) a WR and a run begins, we have the ammo to move up and get one.

hey guys...long time no post. It looks like Shaun Alexander will be released by the Seahawks (Julius Jones and TJ Duckett signed to decent sized contracts), or traded for a low round pick. While Im not a huge fan, I think he has a little left in the tank and even thought hes older, has much more to offer than the backs we have now. Id much rather pick up a FA RB than take one in the draft; we need O lineman bad or nothing else matters and well be in the same position we were last year. RB's tend t be a dime a dozen nowadays and even a decent one will succeed given there are holes to run through (earnest Graham, Willie Parker, Ron Dayne, etc). I like the way Angelo is…

Sounds like Jay Cutler suffered his 1st concussion when Greg Olsen whiffed on a block and Cutler got killed and fumbled the football. At least that is what all of the Chicago radio media seem to be reporting. Olsen had one of the worse games I've ever seen. He gave up a few sacks on his own, stopped running on multiple passes (2 of which led to picks). They were poor passes regardless, but at least one of them wouldn't have resulted in a pick had he not quit on the route. That would mean Cutler might have suffered a 2nd concussion on the hit he took on Ross at the end of the 2nd half. That is a pretty scary thing because all medical statistics state that the …

I heard today that AZ Cardinals are interested in Bagent. ( Probably bullsh**). So the question is if we could get a 3 Rd pick for him, would you trade him? The story suggested a 2nd but that seems unrealistic. I think this year they keep the offensive players together for continuity issues. Maybe one might be gone but majority so we can go be aligned to have the best offense in the league. Every time a player becomes available a bunch of pundits have them coming to the bears. Poles never lets information out so when say, they have sources, bullsh**.

  17. I think our big contracts are our of the way but with the Bennett deal we got an extra 5 mil to spend here is who I still want to be here Jared Crick/DE 26 with 31 starts under his belt. Still has upside for growth. better than Jenkins that contributed last year. Will be very reasonable Scott Chandler-30 he is not a great pass catcher but a very good blocker. To make a complete position for that spot we need a good blocker. Rashad Johnson-30- 3 years younger than Rolle and has some game Patrick Robinson- finally had a good season, was ranked in the top 30 CBs by PFF for depth Will Montgomery in case Gassu needs more time we have a comptan…

OK. A good number here have gone back and forth on whether the Bears should entertain bringing in a veteran WR, like Boldin or Holt, with those opposed seemingly and in concert saying that the current staff (of WR's) is fine and not to mess with it. Further those in support of that "argument" state that bringing in a veteran player like the above mentioned would also hamper those currently on the staff from getting in the game and being noticed. One thing that a lot of folks agree with, for or against, is that Turner was unable to test the talent around him as he didn't have a creative bone in his body. So, now that Martz is in the fold and seeing another post say tha…
