He is on the 53 man roster. You're thinking of the 45 man game day roster. Teams have to inactivate 8 players. The 3rd string QB can be inactive but you can play him in the event of injuries. One note - I believe if he comes in the game before the 3rd quarter, the other 2 QBs cannot come back into the game. Personally, I am happy as hell we kept him on the 53 man roster. I think he will be a starter eventually (give him 2 yrs watching from the sideline). Peace
