I think he is a really good kid. It's unfortunate it hasn't worked out for him here. He is really needing a change of scenery.

Mike Mulligan talked about this today and he said he went back over everything JA had said in the press and that he didn't feel that JA had lied. My disagreement with him was that I feel the omission of information itself is a lie.
I am not going to split hairs here (what is a lie or isn't). My opinion, the Bears should have known this additional information would come out eventually and should have released it all up front.
Peace
I would call it lying by omission. Yesterday was the first time we heard that Williams had a herniated disk as a pre-existing condition. This fact was given to us Williams and not Bears management. This is the issue I have with this whole situation. Williams could still end up being a very good player but I will hesitant to trust our staff going forward.

Why didn't they say from the beginning they were aware of the injury and that he had played on it for 3 yrs??? That sounds better than we were completely suprised by the injury which is the impression he had been giving earlier.
Peace
I can't speak for JA but I know these players go through extensive analysis. He had to be told that the injury was of minimal risk by the medical team. As with all draft picks, we need to give 2 to 3 yrs before actually judging. If Williams is not contributing by the end of next yr.
My criticism would again be why lie? It simply looks worse now that we have found out they lied. Once you know you cannot trust the organization, you stop believing anything they say.

Why did the Bears front office lie about this instead of telling the truth from the beginning. This actually makes the situation look worse. I would love to hear Angelo's explanation of this.

I really don't feel 'fire' on the sideline is necessary. In fact, it can make some coaches look like idiots (there are several Ditka examples). I think it is more important how they handle the team in private.

And how much did Mark Bradley play last yr as the 5th receiver? Point being Bennett will be the last of the receivers on the roster. Hester, Davis, Lloyd, Booker, and Bennett would all get reps before Bennett.

You have a right to your opinion. My opinion is this team needs an experienced veteran receiver. Marty provides that. Mark Bradley has never lived up to the hype.
If I am wrong, I will eat crow. If you are wrong, I expect you to do the same.

I really don't see Riddeau making the team. They may try to put him on the practice squad if he is still eligible.
I see our receivers as follows:
- Davis (lock)
- Hester (lock)
- Booker (vet who never looks good in preseason)
- Lloyd (made the team last week against Seattle)
- Bennett (3rd round pick)
- Bradley (2nd round pick given his last chance)
This is if we keep 6. If we go with 5, then Bradley is probably gone
Peace
I can agree to that. I hate to see us cut one of these young DTs we have so best to get something for one of them. Adams would be my choice to go.

Sorry, but I hate this whole discussion. I have tons of respect for you but I think this speculation is petty.
This is my last post on this topic as I am only making it worse.
