  1. WoW! That is AWESOME! The ending credits were the finishing touch on a cleansing of recent frustrations; laughter is the best medicine, thank you for sharing it. Now, if da Bears hire the guys that had skybox seats and NOT the guys swindled by bums, they might have a draft like your sig.
  2. Dang, dude, the kUhL-aid vendor must be dry on your side of the stadium. Let's get that Bears' smile back.
  3. Let's explore this viewpoint. You would fire Lovie at the end of this season. Note: We'll assume Lovie wins no play-off games because that would preclude the possibility of a firing. What would you suggest da Bears do after firing Lovie? Promote Ron Turner? Promote Dave Toub? Tell the Mink-Loving McCaskies to eat Lovie's contract and dip into the trust fund to pay Cowher? Please explain.
  4. I can agree with starting Rex over Hanie as the ONLY option this week, but, a wise coach would keep a second half option open to show his team that he is committed to winning and EVERY position is accountable, especially given the history with Rex and his likely future elsewhere next season.
  5. D'Ooooohhh...he lost another game for us during the week?!? Can the staff install a shocker instead of a mic in Rex's helmet and use it if he throws another jump-ball INT play?!? Alex Brown can NOT rush the passer alone! To compound the problem, the blitz packages are beyond ineffective. How can 8 guys be swallowed at the line? I must counter the company line and say I think the scheme is the problem. Would you really want to fire him now? Really?!? Patience, sir, Lovie should be allowed to remain at the helm until next season. If Babich is playing the babbling beeatch (defense is pathetic) at the end of the season, he should be fired and the clock starts ticking on the Zombie Malaise.
  6. Are there really this many solid prospects at safety this year? and Taylor Mays It would certainly be a break for da Bears. IMO, da Bears should draft a safety to replace Paine so Paine can replace Brown and Brown can replace Babbles at DC. That move plus a D-Lineman who can find the QB would vastly improve the overall defense. Lastly, for the record, I agree about selecting Larry English, DE, Northern Illinois because he can make plays when he is the focus of opposing offenses.
  7. It should be noted this quote is from: Chalk Talk with Larry Mayer.
  8. I ONLY saw Peanut trying to pull guys off the pile. Did anyone see him retaliate? All I saw was a player trying to assist his teammate who was being pounded on the head AND then piled upon by the other team. If someone knows of other actions taken by Peanut that would have deserved a flag, I would appreciate knowing it. Otherwise, it is my opinion that it is totally unjust/unreasonable to try to blame Peanut, especially considering the situation arose due to a parade of stupid actions by other members of the team and staff.
  9. Thanks MadLith, Great detox post! Agreed. This applies to both deadbeats: Can someone please promise him he will be the next HC in line if Lovie falters?!? ...assuming Cower is busy. Can someone be brought in to help his development? ..we'll wake you if they do... To be fair to the players, the same fact applies to ALL positions that preparation and implementation begins with management flows to staff and guides the players and how their efforts integrate for the team effort and subsequent result. Hey guys, it's a boat, flip it over, THEN get in.
  10. Agreed AND PLEASE make the new OC someone with NFL offensive experience, PLEASE!!! Assuming Lovie does NOT pull a Dickie-J and makes staff changes, IMO, he should stay 2 more years and build a SB contender or be fired.
  11. Unless I missed something, Peanut came into the pile to try to assist his teammates and the refs made a horrible call by missing the true penalty. IMO, Peanut is one of the few players/staff of da Bears that is not an uninspired, unimaginative, and/or soulless oxygen thief.
  12. Classic TT! Brutally funny! Ultimately, you've uncovered the PR plan for unveiling Orton as the starter:
  13. Thank you, great post! I'd add that I do see the possibility that Hanie could refuse because a better offer materializes. It is certainly remote, but, it does exist. Furthermore, let's consider that losing him to another team is NOT a possibility, how much faster is his development as #3 QB vs. PS QB? The offense is currently auditioning for a starting QB into the third quarter of a pre-season game. I for one am NOT happy with our cheap-mart and worse book-ends at QB and would love to see continued efforts to improve the most important position on a football team.
  14. From what I saw, Caleb Hanie has the tools to start in the NFL. He was playing with AND against second/third stringers and showed poise, footwork, arm-strength, and proper decision making. I firmly believe his loss to another team would be the final condemnation of this staff. Now, if you’d like to discuss this like a respectful, intelligent individual I would enjoy it, but, I doubt we’ll find much common ground if you’re merely content with going to a Super Bowl.
  15. Gots to go with da flea and say Crabtree. I'd say Oher, but, something about him seems to good to be true.
  16. Just a thought: What if placing Hanie on the PS or IR was to keep Hanie from showing up JA? After all, Hanie chose da Bears, not JA choosing him. The staff could then say they developed him. If Hanie is lost to another team, IMdO, it is the final proof that da Bears have INEPT goons running the show, seriously.
  17. Jags might be willing to part with a LT (NFL.com vid about Jags camp - about 1 minute in) for a DE (saw another vid where Del Rio was P.O. ed @ the rookie DE holding out). Something good MUST happen... ...miracle trade... ...miracle recovery by Williams on his way to ORoY Honors... ...something...Right?!? "...with a tiny bit of magic, all your dreams will come true."
  18. Thank you, please No Simms...unless...it is part of the fix you mention... Furthermore, Caleb Hanie should be given HALF the chance Rex has had and a true NFL QB would develop. ...the fix... Rex dealt for a starting quality O-Lineman. Orton Starts. Caleb moves into #2 and the new vet QB competes with him for the #2 spot. I'd like my fix quick, thank you.
  19. JA would seem to have disagreed. First, I'd like to believe that if Lovie goes, so does JA; their fates should be tied in Chicago. We all know what happens if the defense is forced to remain on the field the majority of each game. Chris Williams being drafted to play LOT and moving Tait to ROT is a great move. The plan unravels when you expect your swing Tackle to move to LOG AND be available if your rookie LOT is unable to play. Great. I truly question the idea to use St. Clair as a starter. Did he actually improve to the level of starter or is it desperation? Also, is St. Clair the best mentor/supporter for a rookie LOT? What about R. Brown? He was playing like an NFL Caliber LOG until his arm fell off. Is he really a worse option than Metcalf or musical St. Clair? As for Beekman, his best position projected to be center and he should continue to learn that position. Garza has some decent back-ups in Oakley and Reed. Tait has the aspiring Cody Balogh as his back-up. As for the O-Line, the lack of planning and leadership from the coaches and FO is threatening the success of the entire team. Mongo, I hope your vision is correct because the O-Line REALLY needs some additional help.
  20. Agreed, he needs many more touches this season. Agreed, it is asking TOO much of the kid to return kicks, play WR, AND mentor the coaches. My choice for TC Surprise would be the new #3 QB for the 2008 season: Caleb Haine.
  21. Bravo ! I completely agree with your assertion to reward Urlacher. If for NO other reason then for carrying the team to a SB appearance. How much was that worth to the franchise and the fans? The NEW face of the franchise REALLY helped from the sidelines on crutches and wRex is best suited as an anchor, preferably elsewhere, like the SS CbA$$ or Lest we should ALL forget the disrespectful things Briggs said AND did and THEN got paid. or contract extensions and/or retention of coaches and management despite the inability to plan, teach, or execute. or... ... But wait, Urlacher signed a contract, so, he should honor it. Well, so should the Bears and make the remaining money guaranteed. I'll bet Brian would be there for EVERY second of the contract, even if unable to take the field. A gesture like that would indicate a heart does exist within the organization.
  22. I'll second your thought: and Congrats on being with such a wise woman. I thought I'd repost Lucky's quote because the truth Bears repeating:
  23. Thanks for the optimism, MadLith. Agreed: Lovie can move to a team that wants to win more than acquire more fur coats and JA can try to sell insurance.
