The injury bug continues into Wednesday. Most of the players from your article continued into today . Something tells me not ALL the starters will play the full half this week.

Most of the starters will play most of the first half this week to include Roquan.

Yeah great to see him do well. He’s definitely inspiring. Wonder if his good play weighed in on Roquan’s decision to get back at it?

I didn’t see the presser but allegedly Eberflus stated that Borom will be the starter despite the addition of Reiff.

Reports are Herbert’s injury was minor enough he was back today but limited. Also Blasingame who had a brace during the game Thursday did not today.

Brad Biggs apparently made a comment (haven’t been able to locate it) that he felt a deal could be done before week one and Roquan would be practicing before end of next week.- Camp notes
Rookie C Doug Kramer ends up on IR after a ‘lower leg injury’ they think may be a Lifsanc injury. Brought in UDFA Center Corey Dublin last of Tulane.- Roquan Smith requests trade

Something of note. ‘Twitter speculation’ (such that it is) is that he may not return from Seattle. And that ‘they have lots of picks’ to trade.- Preseason Game 1 KC @ CHI
Agreed. The kid looked exceptionally sharp. Yea I know it was mostly against 2nd and 3rd stringers but you make the most of the opportunities you’re given. And he did just that. Agree that he might just be able to play in the same spot as Roquan. He was like this in college too.- Camp notes
Like having Simien as backup QB. Think Getsy will do well as OC. Saw some flashes of GB plays that helped Rodgers be successful. One example was on a 4th and 2 play, Simien threw a for a large gain to Pettis then a few plays later for a TD to Newsome .- Camp notes
First half stars: Mooney (on one play), Tajae Sharpe (on a few plays) and Brisker (he’s going to be fun to watch on D). Offensive line still needs A LOT of work. Of note: no Montgomery. Assume he sat out for rest. (???)- Camp notes
First two series (one each a team). Bears 3 and out to include a sack of Fields (by way of Schofield). KC scores after relative little resistance.- Camp notes
Tuned in for the preseason game. Right off I see Nagy yucking it up with Mahomes. Who promptly wandered away.- Roquan Smith requests trade
I’m in the minority here as I say ‘pay him’. Sure I don’t know what he think he’s worth or what’s going on in negotiations. But he’s performing at a high level and should be paid accordingly. He was drafted as a first rounder and has performed at or above that level since arriving. Just a few months ago several listed him as a core player as the team does a remodel. Meaning (at least to me) that you give him him what he needs to help the team make that transition. On top of that, he wants to be here. I see this talk of trade similar to how the Greg Olsen deal went down, not good. Securing more draft picks does nothing more than secure picks of unknown potential. With Roquan we already know what his value to the team is .- Camp notes

I like this. Poles did what he could to get ahead or stay just in front of the wave of info. Not knowing the guy I picked up on a true sense of frustration. He mentioned “emotions” especially due to Roquan representing himself. Poles also made it clear (he said it more than once) that he believe the offer they gave was ‘respectful’ and seems put off by it. Still, and this is the most important piece that he emphasized more than once, his (Poles) goal was to build a successful team and that involves signing (not necessarily trading) Roquan. He has the interest of the overall health of the team first and getting Roquan signed second. It should be noted that despite all the contract unrest, Smith is still showing up for practices.- Roquan Smith requests trade
Damn. I had read elsewhere that he might be talked off the cliff if the McCaskey family were able to do so. Being his own representation can’t be helpful.- T. Jenkins
If I had to guess, the trade talks were something real. But teams only want a player that can perform, not sit off the field and sulk. He’s back on the field to show he can play even after having back surgery and at least put on a good showing.- Camp notes
Saw this today. Probably (maybe) related to TGjr’s injury. And there were a few others of note.- Poor Mitch
We talked a few days ago about how difficult it is to gauge a potential long term performance while practicing, especially in the early stages. If memory serves there were times where Mitch looked the part during practice and sometimes even during the preseason. Hell just year he schooled the Bears 41-15. Yes it was preseason but for much of the game it was against “our #1s”. All this to say I’ll reserve judgment until the regular season starts and agree with you that he’ll probably still be the starter when week 1 starts. With regard to Nagy and his system. All I needed to know about how inept he was as a coach was when I heard and saw Nick Foles freelance (and win) while arguing with Nagy on the sideline about his play calling.- My updated predictions
