Good move, surprised he signed it with all the stuff going on and with the team's record. I am sure it is a nice raise.

Unfortunately, I've already started my mock drafts this year. Here's a few for Yalls review. For the most part, I am a trade down whore.

It looks like this will be the end for Eddie Jackson and Cody Whitehair. Cutting them both this offseason would free up almost 22M in cap space with about $10M in dead cap. Jackson has been ok, but too often injured. Whitehair has been slowly degrading into a below replacement level player and you can't pay those guys $13M a year. Jackson is due $18M, there is just no way I see him on the roster next year, so the Bears will have to look for a new FS in FA or the draft.

The Bears need to win this to keep CAR in the running for the #1 pick. This might be CAR's only chance at winning another game. Will it be the return of Fields? Moore revenge game?

Halfway through the season, we are now 3-6. It's not where most thought we'd be, while it was with others. Sitting in year two of a massive rebuild, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Poles: he's brought over 60 new faces into Halas Hall in the last two years. He has taken us from relying on the likes of Germaine Ifedi, to having the makings of a solid offensive line. We have yet to see them all healthy this year to date. What other team has faced that? The Montez Sweat trade was huge. Great cap space and draft picks are again top of the league. His biggest failure is with Claypool, Velus and lack of a good center. Victories include; Sweat, Bagen…

The Bears have 7 games left, 3 against suspected playoff teams (DETx2 and CLE), but none of those teams are the elite (SF, PHI, KC, BAL). @ DET - this is probably a loss, Fields first game back, but it is after a mini-bye and DET is traveling back from a SUN game in LA. @ MIN - the Bears should've won the first game, now without Cousins, I think the Bears get back to 1-1 against them here. BYE vs DET - this would be the 2nd game after and extra break, if there ever was a game they could win, it is this one. I am going upset here. @ CLE - I am going with loss here, but the Browns offense doesn't scare me. vs ARZ - regardless of QB, this team is as bad as…

Detroit coming back home after a last second win against the Chargers. Detroit has beat up on losing teams, and the Bears are a losing team. Outside of Fields coming back and playing lights out and the defense playing as good as they did against the Panthers, this one looks like it will be an ugly loss. 34-16.

We were talking about Jared Goff, which led me to Cooper Kupp. I don't think people talk enough about his 2021 season (or the fact that he has lived off of it ever since). He had 145 receptions, 1947 yards, and 16 TDs that year. That was basically 1000 yards more than his previous season where he had 974 yards. That one season is such an outlier, it is crazy. He has only had one other season over 1000 yards. He is also already 30 yrs old. So in 7 years, he has made one All-Pro Team and Pro Bowl, in 2021, that's it. 2021 is also the year the Rams won the SB. They basically rode him all the way there. Then in the postseason he scored 7 TDs in 4 games …

QB talk gets mentioned in almost every thread, since it wont be going away until after the draft, might as well keep it in one spot. My take: I want Fields to succeed, i want Bagent to be good, for me its what is our best course going forward. Option 1) Fields balls out and we use our 2 top picks to acquire a boat load of top 100 talent. I would prefer to get MHJ somewhere in the mix. Justin has 7 games to prove himself or I will be out with him. Even if he plays well Poles may decide there is a better QB to draft, the big money he will have to pay in 2025 may already have sealed his fate. Option 2) Draft the next great QB , the problem is which one is it?…

Here's my wish list for 2024. Ryan Poles GM Ben Johnson HC Vic Fangio DC asst HC Joe Brady OC Poles has done a great job of bringing in talent, despite the bungling of Flus. I'm not sure if the failure of Getsy is a result of Flus being too conservative or Getsy just not getting it. Too bad you sad. You had your shot. I'm sure Poles has already passed judgement on Justin. What he thinks, I don't know. But, for some reason, I trust him. Regardless of anything, Flus has to go. There is no room in the NFL for conservative coaches. Modern players just don't respond to it.

If the season ended today, MIN is the 7th playoff team and they actually have a 1.5 game lead on the 8th place team. The NFC is super weak this year. Fields gets 8 days to get that thumb healed up a little more. He handled pressure really well against DET. MIN is going to blitz, that is what they do. I think Fields will make them pay this time. In the last meeting, the Bears had the ball with 6:44 left in the 4th, down by 6 and Bagent got them all the way down to the MIN 35 before throwing that pick. As long as the injury report looks good, this will be another game where the Bears are the healthiest they have been all year while MIN will be without Cousins and …

So at least Poles hit a home run with Edwards. He needs to lock this hometown dude up with a long term contract. He is on pace to have one of the best LB season's in Bears history, on par with Urlacher's best. Here is Roquan's best season as a Bear compared to Edwards thru 11 games: 21 Roquan (17g) - 163 tackles, 3 sacks, 3 PD, 12 TFL, 1 INT, 0 FF (made 2nd Team AP) 23 Edwards (11g) - 121 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 PD, 5 TFL, 1 INT, 1 FF (on pace for 187 tackles, 9th most in NFL history) Urlacher was insane, do you go with the year of 19 TFL, 153 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 7 PD, 2 FF, and 1 INT in 2002 or the 5 INT, 12 PD, 5 sacks, 123 tackles, 7 TFL and 1 TD season in 2…

The draft is going to be more relevant as the season moves on so might as well keep everything in one thread . The biggest prize in this draft is MHJ. We are in a position to draft him. Where we draft will be key, I think top 3 is guaranteed, our pick at worst top 10. The question will be will Poles try to get another kings ransom with the top pick or use the pick for a QB, MHJ? I dont think its a mistake either way he goes. If he doesnt rate any QB generational then I think he takes MHJ with his first pick. no matter who the QB is, MHJ or even a Bowers pick makes them better. Imagine DJ and Harrison on the outside with Kmet and Bowers at TE. OMG Our ne…

Semi-serious question. Does Jaylon Johnson have thumbs? His hands are atrocious. He will never be top tier if he can’t catch garden variety interceptions that should be game-changing pick 6 plays.

Some fairly impressive numbers from the Bears defense. In general, they are clearly better than last year and have improved even more since players got healthy and the acquisition of Sweat. Both Sweat and Edwards are playing at Pro Bowl levels. #1 against the Run (79 yds/game) #3 Interceptions (13) #9 Total Yards Allowed (318 yds/game) #11 Turnovers (20) #16 Passes Defended (50) #19 Defensive DVOA (last season they finished #32) #22 against the Pass (248yds/game) TJ Edwards #2 in tackles (125), also has 2 sacks, 2 INT, and 1 FF Jaylon Johnson #7T in interceptions (3) Montez Sweat #12 in sacks (9), (4g, 2.5 sack…

6 for 6 over 50 yards (3rd-T), 92.0% FG% (10th), 95.5% XP%, 9th in Touchbacks, has only missed 3 kicks all season out of 47. The Bears need to extend him.

Even with the Bears off, CAR plays TB, NE plays LAC, and NYJ plays ATL. 3 games with draft implications. CAR loss to TB solidifies the #1 pick while also helping with the Bears pick (TB gets another win). NE winning would be huge for the Bears, but even if LAC wins, that keeps the Bears actual pick in the top 8. An NYJ win would keep the Bears in the top 7. So if TB beats CAR, NYJ beats ATL, and LAC beats NE, the Bears would have a great shot at a top 6 pick. For the "in the hunt" crowd: SEA (6-5) is at DAL, GB (5-6) is playing KC, LAR (5-6) is playing CLE, and NO (5-6) is playing DET. So there is a chance that every team ahead of the Bears in the playoff picture th…

New draft order; same ole draft strategy. These are all 3 round mocks with the goal to gain thirteen prospects between this and the extra picks I gain in 2025. All drafts must have a top flight prospect and ideally an extra number one in 2025.
