Lost in all the Webb "demotion" chatter was the fact that Kyle Long is also now playing with the 1st team. Trestman stuck to the company line about how this was all part of the plan. I wasn't impressed with Brown in the first game as he seemed to get pushed backward too easily. In fact the sack on Cutler that is blamed on Webb missing his block also happened because Brown missed his block and that didn't allow Cutler to step up into the middle of the pocket and forced him wide to where he got sacked. On the plays I was able to focus on Kyle Long he did ok and most times he held his ground better than Brown. Not sure on the run blocking other than a couple plays…

They are playing some outstanding football. Kyle is playing within himself and limiting the mistakes. I'm sure they will hit a roadblock sooner of later, but you have to give them credit for a great win today. Peace FYI - I still love the trade and I know that Cutler is a franchise QB.

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-012910.article Mike Martz interviewing for Bears offensive coordinator job Comments January 29, 2010 BY SEAN JENSEN Staff Reporter Former St. Louis Rams head coach Mike Martz is interviewing for the Bears offensive coordinator job today, and the club may make a decision on the vacancy in the coming days. Martz had spoken to Bears head coach Lovie Smith early in the process, but he finally got an interview today. Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks coach Kevin Rogers is believed to have made a strong impression on the Bears during an interview Thursday, and he or Martz could compel the Bears not to wait for a…

  7. Here we go, the first playoff game thread since January 2011. We have knocked GB and MIN out of the playoffs, and now get a chance to knock off the champs. Our defense is elite and our offense is balanced and efficient. I feel like we are going to finally unleash the full offense next week for the first time. I think we win handily and the defense creates a few turnovers. I am praying for good officials and no BS calls. Bears 27-13

  9. The Bears come in as 2.5 dogs to MIN in MIN. It seems that some teams have figured out the MIN defense. They have allowed 27, 24, 37, and 28 in the last 4 games, and are 1-3 in those 4. MIN has scored 19, 27, 10, 22, 21, and 21 in the last 6 games. McCarthy does not look NFL-ready, he threw 2 INTs and now has 6 on the season in 4 games. Unfortunately, I feel like this is going to be another nail biter, I am thinking Bears 27-24.

  10. We are actually seeing good play calling. They are rolling cutler out, using protection packages to keep him upright and give him time to throw. Amazing how those things are helping Jay look like the QB we gave up so much for. What puzzles me is we are 2 weeks from the end of the season and are just now playing at a level we were hoping to see when the season started. If we do in fact win this one good game plan and effort cannot overshadow the poor preparation of the past 14 weeks. If anything it's more an indictment of the coaching staff that the same players that were inept for the better part of the season that are playing well tonight. And just as I type …

Josh Beekman Resurrects When the Chicago Bears selected Josh Beekman in the 4th round of the 2007 draft, most fans were very pleased with the selection. They thought they got a player who was projected to go as high as the 2nd round in the 4th round. Jerry Angelo started the process of injecting youth into the aging offensive line. The Bears had high expectations for the 2008 season, especially on the offensive side of the ball. No one expected the Bears offense to recess like it did, and a big factor was the breaking down of the offensive line. Players played injured until it was time to fold the cards. Ruben Brown played most of the season with a torn should…

Our problems are solved!! The Bears signed former St. Louis defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy today. Kennedy has had an injury-plagued career and weight issues, but he appears to be in much better shape. Kennedy was traded to Denver but was cut in training camp and hasn't played this season. He was the Rams' top draft pick — No. 12 overall — in 2003. The Bears would have selected him if he were still on the board. He played one season for Bears coach Lovie Smith while Smith was the defensive coordinator with the Rams. Kennedy is practicing with the Bears today.

  17. I'm watching Chicago Tribune Live right now and there talking about Chad Johnson and how he's going to be available this offseason. It's been talked about before, but seeing how pathetic our WR corps is right now, do you feel like going after a guy like Ocho Cinco who could potentially raise our team to the next level but also destroy the locker room? I say, go for it.

Going for two in a row? Teams seem to be going in opposite directions. Bears like to be underdogs, current line is Bears +3.

  19. I have to start this giving Bear Sox a little credit after I read a comment he made... I'm sure at least some of you are Madden geeks, like myself. Heck, I'm so bad that I only own a system for only that game. Once I started playing in college, I couldn't stop. My question to those of you who are in need of help, like me, is do you do any of the following: 1. Update your roster to the latest team, creating whoever you need? 2. Play with the Roster as if you were GM and create your own line-up making trades, etc that you'd like in a dream scenario? 3. Go for broke and create either an all-time Bears team or the '85 Bears team? As there's not …

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...8010602212.html Redskins are $20 million over the cap, and even after restructuring contracts, how much money could they possibly free up? Also, I love how they mention stable 3rd wide receiver, then mention Berrian. So is he only viewed as a 2nd or 3rd Wideout level talent?
