What would you think about drafting DE with our first 2 picks? Not saying I'm for it. just a good debatable topic. Things like: our D is predicated on pressure, lots of DE's worked for the Giants twice, drafting two increases the odds of striking gold, Peppers could move inside on passing downs to pressure the QB's face and lastly, the Pack hate it.

Were getting close to the draft so everybody want to have a say as to who they want and who they think the Bears will pick. It has to be somewhat realistic, like Claiborne, the qbs, the rb, one WR, the LT wont be there. There is a possible one someone dropping but not who I mentioned. For me , it would have to play out but would like Kuechly to drop to us. He is a stud, 532 tackles in three years. He would continue our Legends of LBers we have been lucky to have had, even thou we have more areas of need. Who I think the Bears will draft would be W. Mercilus/DE/ Ill. I think they like him a lot and the other couple of players they may want will be gone.

This is a bit of blend of what I want to happen and what I think will happen, based on my review of Emery's drafts with the Chiefs and Falcons: 1) Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina - I think he'll slide and I think we'll take him. Makes a ton of sense here where one NC lineman with motor concerns can learn from another. 2) Jeff Allen, OT, Illinois - The Bears' comfort with LT turns out to be a bit of a smokescreen. Allen has been moving up and is known as one of the best pass protectors in the draft, just what this team needs. Plus, Emery has a history with Illinois linemen (drafted Jon Asamoah). 3) Brian Quick, WR, Appalachain State - Emery loves big W…

I have no doubt over half the members who post here will be moaning and groaning, some totally ballistic, about the Bears selections. Happens every year, we all have our favorites, guys we want drafted, but unfortunately they are seldom selected. I just hope this year we can keep it all in perspective and give Emery a chance to prove his worth without making rash judgements saying he is a failure because he did not pick who we want and making selections he feels will be best for the Bears, this year and the future.

Lovie is 6th on the list of all pro sports coaches, just not the NFL. So much for the Bears being cheap. It is from a article posted on PFT.

  10. Hey it is still a slow period. Who would you take, I say the best 3 options are AP. Jarret Allen, Kahil. Make a choice. As for me I think Kahil would be a bookend OT for 8 to 10 years with Carimi. Even though he hasnt played a down in the NFL yet, is upside is great.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown...15977--nfl.html Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman does not like your pro-Packers math! By Doug Farrar Chicago Bears cornerback Charles "Peanut" Tillman was recently supporting his Cornerstone Foundation at a sporting goods store in the suburban Chicago area, when he received an autograph request from the daughter of the store's owner. The teenage girl was doing her math homework during the appearance, and she showed Tillman one of the problems given to her by her teacher, John Amrein of Round Lake Middle School: The Packers play the Bears 4 times in two seasons. The Packers, being a much better team…

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ The Bears announced they had agreed to terms with former third-round pick Lorenzo Booker, who has been with the Dolphins and Vikings. To make room for Booker on the roster, they released running back Alvester Alexander, an undrafted rookie free agent out of Wyoming. We just paid Forte, we signed Bush, and bell signed his RFA tender....so why do we need Booker in camp?

Desmond Bishop went down holding his knee and couldn't put any weight on it. McCarthy said postgame that they'll be "lucky" if it's nothing serious. (Bishop led the Pack in tackles last year)

    1. The offense is still a work in progress. Cutler just wasn't on the same page with the WR's + Forte. 2. Forte and Bush had no lanes to run through. 3. Jeffery had a TD drop with Cutler and a 1st down drop with Campbell. That's unacceptable. For as much heat as McClellin takes, Jeffery was just as unimpressive yesterday. 4. Nobody on the DL besides Peppers can get pressure. The Giants double, sometimes triple, teamed him yesterday and still nobody could step up. That's scary. 5. The ST has been the worst phase so far this preseason. Missed tackles, returns for TD's, long returns, etc. Toub must be pissed. 6. Webb > Williams. End it now. Williams looks disint…

"But his preseason performance was more notable for the passes he dropped than anything he caught. Owens dropped a potential 46-yard touchdown against Denver on a perfect throw from Matt Flynn. He failed to make a catch in any of his five targets against the Broncos and then had another glaring drop against Kansas City on Friday night." BWAAAAAAA HA HA HA.

  19. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ APLinebacker Brian Urlacher isn’t the only Bears defender dealing with a lingering injury. Defensive end Julius Peppers has a case of plantar fasciitis, which caused the team to schedule regular days off during camp. Peppers wouldn’t even tell Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune which foot was bothering him, following the lead of Urlacher’s evasiveness. “I’d refer to it as soreness,” Peppers said. “General soreness.” Peppers hasn’t missed any game time this far, and looks like the same explosive player during the preseason. Bears coach Lovie Smith shrugged it off as a non-issue. “Guys f…
