Benson's lawyer, Sam Basset, was just on Chicago Tribune Live and said he has spoken to law enforcement officials and people in the DA's office and all of them say Benson looks fine in the video of the field sobriety test. He also says it is confirmed Benson could be heard on the tape saying he wanted to take a blood test and the officer responding "well I'm offering you a breath test". The Trib is speculating that the Bears should go after either Fred Taylor, salary cap casualty of the Jacksonville Jaguars or Duece McAllister who was released by the Saints. The Trib says that McAllister is a higher risk with his injuries that he has had since his 1,000+ yards rushing in 2006. For years and years we have watched the draft and said to ourselves, "WTF is that pick? Why aren't they factoring in need? Who the hell is that and where did he play? I know it is early to talk draft, but building things is an interest of mine. Right now we are on the bye week and sitting at around a top 10 pick. Talkbears is a site I enjoy because it is small and the group that participates has passion and knowledge. I have spent nearly 15 years here it seems give or take. These teams are fairly even going into this game. Mixon vs Monty. Red Rider Revenge Game. To me it comes down to execution. If the Bears players play up to expectations, the Bears win by 10. If they play how they did last week, they lose by at least 7. I am hoping for more Fields, just put the kid in already. I have really soured on Nagy and it feels like he is over his head and needs to give up playcalling. Bears 24-20.

After Seattle picked Aaron Curry, they removed the franchise tag from Leroy Hill, effectively making him a free agent, since he hadn't yet signed the tender. St Louis put the tag on up and coming FS OJ Otogwe, then drafted a FS at the start of the third round--Bradley Fletcher. Might St Louis remove Otogwe's tag now that they have a cheaper option? He is a nice kid, says the right things, isn't overly cocky or arrogant, and has played pretty damn well considering the circumstances (Fox/Loggains era). I find it funny when people compare him to Rodgers, Stafford, Cousins, etc. All vets. The funny thing is to check out their stats before they were all 25. Before his 25-yr old season, Cousins played in 3 games, started 1 game, and had a total of 4 TDs, 3 INTs and 466 passing yards. So here we go, game two of the early season and our team is 2-0 for prime time (not wins, just appearances). The first game at home in front of a friendly crowd with all our new toys. Seattle is a mess in so many ways . It makes me personally happy to see Pete Carroll wince in agony when his team isn’t doing well. I suspect (and hope) we’ll see a lot more of that next Monday. How will Trubisky do with a weeks worth of game time and more practice/preparation under his belt? Will Nagy manage the game a little differently (smarter) than last week?
