Bearstalk

Overall, I thought it was a pretty good draft, looking at the individual players we got. At the same time, I can not help but feel this draft will go down as the draft that could have been. I feel we missed the bus on some players, and while there are later picks I like individually, I question the selections due to who we passed on. 1st - I like Williams. I like him a lot. At the same time, I can not help but feel Albert will be a far better player. Williams may indeed be the better, immediate, prospect, but down the road, I think we look back and wonder why we didn't take Albert 2nd - Forte - I like Forte. I think most do as well. This fills a need, and…

1) He is going to get shit for throwing 4 INTs, when 3 of them werent his fault. 2) This O-Line is going to get him killed.

More split time for Olsen? Always good to have depth. Looks like Clark is content with the situation. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Akcr...t&type=lgns

Any info? I read some post from another forum that the score reported today that benson's injury is worse than everyone thought and that his career with the bears is over and it will be announced publically in a few days? Is this true? If it is, do they bring in some vet with experience. I think forte will be a good back, but we can't possibly try going into the season with no experience at all can we? I'd make a trade like a 6th rd pick in next years draft for lamont jordan, or try for alexander if he's affordable.

Might as well put them all in one place. Try to keep it to signings, not "I would like to see the Bears get this guy."

With Orton taking over at Quarterback it is obvious that the Bears (while not mathematically eliminated) are looking towards next season. The question is should the Bears start to take a similar route with the offensive line? Terrance Metcalf has shown that he clearly isn't capable of being a good offensive lineman. He is a valuable backup and I'd imagine based on his minimal cap figure we will see him back next year (in a backup role) but my question is should the Bears go out and give Beekman a chance (I think he was drafted out of ISU this past year). My immediate thought is yes, however, it should only be if he is ready because if Beekman is clearly worse th…

We made it! Week 1 is almost here. Are you ready for some football. This is one of those polarizing games where a win could propel the Bears to something big, but a loss at home to the Packer without Rodgers will be a tough loss to recover from. The Packers are 0-5 in any game where Love had 5 or more passing attempts. In the two games where he had substantial playing time, they lost both and he put up these total numbers: Totals - 29-51, 324 yds, 56.8%, 6.4 Y/A, 2 TD, 3 INT One game average - 14.5-25.5, 162 yds, 56.8%, 6.4 Y/A, 1 TD, 1.5 INT I could care less about preseason or how he has looked in practice. The above stats are who he is until he…

I feel like comparing anyone to Mahomes is not fair, especially Fields. I don't think he will ever get to that level. However, I still think he can be a top 10 QB with top 5 upside with a higher floor than most other QBs due to his escapability. I don't think he is going to be a perennial 300yd passer, which will keep the national media narrative going. I don't know what the obsession is with Fields. He was the 4th QB drafted and not even in the top 10. The spotlight should be on Lawrence, Wilson, and Lance. Case 1 - Lamar Jackson has started (and had 10 attempts) in 49 games in his career. In 24 of those games (basically half), he failed to throw for 200 pass…

No more Probable rating, so most of these will be announced as game time decisions. Bears 24-20

Cam Newton...Brian Urlacher. Glad I could introduce you.

First of all, here's the link to the 2017 version. 2017 EVERYONE AGREES MOCK - VER 2.0 1. Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama - Still a need 2. Pat Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech - Rookie QB acquired in Trubisky. Promising future. 3. Budda Baker, S, Washington - This pick was lost, but Eddie Jackson was selected. Promising future. 4. Chad Wheeler, OT, USC - Still a need 4. Kevin King, CB, Washington - Still a need 5. Fabian Moreau, CB, UCLA - Still a need 7. Pharaoh Brown, TE, Oregon - This pick was lot, but Shaheen may be the answer. Unknown future. OT, CB, and DE were essentially ignored, and it showed in 2017. OT - Massie sucked, and Leno was barely average.…

Per trib and score. Yikes....

Hi everyone! Last year's Talkbears mock draft was enjoyable enough for me that I figured WTH, I'll do it again. I'm open to formatting suggestions, but here's a basic outline. Each participant picks a team, or multiple teams if you'd like. From the moment we start, you're the GM. You want to trade picks, you want to bring Cutler to the Bears, whatever you want to do, do it. (2009 picks traded in the 2008 Talkbears Mock Draft do not count ). My goal is to start the draft process on Monday, March 30th, give or take. This gives us a little more time before the draft than we had last year, so we can push it longer if we want, and we won't be in a rush to get…

I hate him.

Looking at CNNSI's mock draft, by Don Banks Just for the record, he has us drafting OT Eban Britton, and provides the following comments, John Tait's retirement puts the Bears in the market for another offensive tackle, and while the higher-rated Michael Oher remains on the board, the word is he started taking on water at the combine and will continue to sink as the scouting process continues. Teams just don't have as much patience for draft prospects with character issues as they did in the pre-Roger Goodell days. He also previously stated, Teams aren't as willing as they once were to look the other way for a player who has either character or medic…

Hub Arkush was on the Boers and Bernstein show this evening and stated that he had confirmation that someone above Jerry Angelo's position in the organization has started to inquiry into the posibilities of bringing in a new coach. This due diligence has been performed on John Gruden, Shanahan, and Cowher. This executive was looking into the parameters of the size and requirements of a compensation package should the Bears head down the path of replacing Lovie and perhaps Angelo (depending upon the amount of power needed by the new coach). Hub made it seem that if the season continues of its current trajectory, a new regime could be a possibility. He also felt that the Be…

Obviously Olsen didn't help but this is on RON TURNER. Fire his ass now.

according to LaConfora https://twitter.com/JasonLaCanfora Hard to believe a former DC of the Browns is a good hire....

Pretty excited about this. He's a very good wideout.
