The 49ers are putting ILB Michael Wilhoite on the trading block, reportedly looking for a 6th or 7th round pick. He beat out Chris Borland last year to win the starting ILB job for Fangio. His stats weren't eye popping or anything, but he did start a whole season for a top 5 defense. At the very least you typically won't get a guy in the 6th or 7th round that could come in and compete for an ILB spot right out of the box. If Fangio likes this guy, getting a starting ILB for a 6th round pick would be huge.

In trade from Vikings. Apparently draft picks involved with deal. Interesting moves the Bills are making these last few days. Could their offense suddenly be legit? Hell they didn't look all that bad with Orton running the show. Cassel isn't that much worse. Vikings could be getting really good really fast and stay young in the process. Not sure the RB situation but Bridgewater is the real deal (or so it seems) and now Minnesota has a few more draft picks to beef up their team.

How so many on this board seem to think they have a handle on what this new regime is going to? We have to mesh guys from 3 different organizations just to form our offensive and defnsive schemes. We have no draft history on our FIRST TIME GM and his working reklationship with our NEW HEAD COACH and his coordinators. So tell me why do you think you know what this group is going to do on personnel moves etc.

According to Overthecap.com the Bears have approximately $29 million in cap space going into Free Agency. If the Bears plan to stick with Cutler, and want to make a big splash in free agency, wouldn't it make sense to convert some of his 2015 salary into a signing bonus so the hit is spread out over multiple years? If I am reading everything correctly, we could free up around $5 million in cap space this year by converting $6 mil into a signing bonus, then we would carry an extra $1 mil hit per year for the next 5. What if the coaches said, as others here have, that there is a decent amount of young talent on the team? That they just need good coaching? Suppose they think Paea will be stout enough for the NT spot, and the combo of Young, Sutton, Ferguson, Allen, etc. is enough for the DL? Suppose they think SMC is great at his natural position, and Bostic/Greene are perfect for the other two holes in the 3-4, with Briggs filling the last spot?
