A loss gives us the 7th pick, and a win drops us from 8th thru 11th depending on the outcome of 3 other games. We need ATL, NO, and NYG to all win to get the highest pick possible. Also, a win puts us into 3rd in the division making our schedule even tougher next year. The last place team plays TB and WAS, while the 3rd place team is going to get NYG and the 3rd place finisher of the NFC South (CAR , ATL, NO). That is a huge swing.

I had an interesting conversation from a person that spent some time with the team. I'm not naming my source, but... On Trestman: Knows offense like crazy. Runs an ultra soft camp. Players were actually lobbying to hit more. Some pleading to the staff that they needed contact. Practices lacked intensity. Offense completely dominated the defense. On talent: Cutler is a stud. Of all the QB's he's played with, Cutler was the best at running practice and making sure players were in the right position and accountable. Quoted, "dude is misunderstood", "good teammate", "leader I would follow", "hard worker". Marshall, Bennett, Jeffery and Forte are talen…

Alright everyone, let predict who goes... I say all the coaching staff and emery. Emery has to go... He obviously missed on his first rd pick on his first draft. He completely over-paid for citlers contract when he could have used the franchise tag ( which has been brought up numerous times). He brought in some complete busts on the defensive side of the ball the last two yrs. He tends to get cute with his draft picks and acts as if he is out smarting everyone when really he's only out smarting himself. Most of all the fact that arians and mccoy are doing decent this yr and they were the two he passed up. Not to mention the ridiculously stupid things he put the coa…

Down to a few days until Black Monday. I am ready to put an end to the season and see how devoted the Bears ownership is to selling their product to the greatest fan base in the NFL. I have to say I will not be satisfied with their actions unless they put a football mind in charge of all decisions. The coaching staff has to go, which is easy because the players will never buy into them again. Emery may survive, he has made costly mistakes, but with structure above him and a competent coach below him, he may be servicable. If they drop only the coaches and Phillips and Emery survive, I will be highly disappointed and would expect more mediocrity and expect to see more wome…

Some people are ready to see Cutler back next year. That's fine, everyone is welcome to their own opinion. I just want to understand how you come to this conclusion. Convince me on why Jay Cutler should be the Chicago Bears QB in 2015. I don't want stats. I don't want contract details. I don't want physical traits like a strong arm. I don't care about relationships with players. I don't want to hear about quarterback carousels or potential replacements. I want to know where he excels to you. What are the positive aspects you see in Jay Cutler's play? What, in your eyes, does he do on the field that separates him from average quarterback? What actual parts of his…

While we ease into the holiday season, I am grateful for this site as a place to interact with passionate Bears' fans. Whether flush or flat all during the year, I at least got to get on this site and enjoy some fun and thought provoking discussion. Life is too short to let much get under your skin and this site helps keep things light. So to all who post and those who just enjoy reading the exchanges, please accept my wishes for a Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season. I'm glad we got through the year and look forward to many more productive years in my life and hopefully in yours as well. Bless you all.

Two Pro Bowls in his first two years. Forte got snubbed, he's third in the league in total yards and has 10 TDs.

Jay Cutler should not be the scapegoat, not jays fault, he should be starting. Gould hopes Cutler is back next year to lead this team. Also said this year is not the Bear way, being a Bear for 10 years this year is not the way Lovie had taught them concerning things getting out of the locker room people throwing others under the bus...etc.... Some points I thought you guys may have been interested to hear

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/jason-...-coaching-staff 1. Lot of the Cutler stuff is stuff we already know 2. Shanny- keeps a close relationship with Cutler and its says would be interested in coaching Cutler again. 3. Emery has told his staff he may retain his job 4. Harbaugh may be too expensive for the Bears and the control on final say on roster moves would have to shift for Harbaugh to come. Does with have to do with Phillips?????

Some great numbers from Jay against some great defenses this year: - 27 more yards from his all-time high as a Bear, 360 from 4,000 yards - 66.1 Completion %, career high - 28 TD's, career high - 18 INTs, still 8 less than career high - 89.5 QB Rating, career high - 27 Turnovers, 3 less than career high

No idea validity of this but literally 4 people at work came by in last 5 minutes asking me if it was true, haha, so apparently this has been pretty widely reported. Probably a lot of junk but I presume nothing is to prevent teams from discussing hypothetical trades even though deadline hasn't been reached so I could see a scenario where that is the case. I just question why we would allow our current management team to make any sort of deal, unless of course, some people are sticking around (or the McCaskey's feel so strongly / needed this type of assurance that they could move him with the logic being they had to know 100% that they could dump Cutler because that woul…

More at link http://chicagofootball.com/2014/12/18/hub-...-list/akjn3ia/# A lot of us have been asking for a football czar. Didn't think it was possible that ownership would be smart enough to recognize this, but apparently the chatter has already started. Holmgren was pretty much a disaster with Cleveland though as their President of Football operations man, so I don't really like hearing his name. Still, hearing this is at least a step in the right direction if they have finally figured out that something like this needs to happen.
