Christian McCaffrey is killing it, definitely a first round lock. Hopefully more RBs go in the first, which would be helpful for the Bears 2nd round pick.

SiriusXM mentioned that Russell Wilson has pushed for a trade and mentioned teams he’s interested in. The Raiders were named; Carr could be in play?

Sign his ass now! Roy Williams and Johnny Knox are not the answer at #1. Moss will atleast go up and get it when he's in the game and make adjustments on balls that Roy Williams doesn't. I'm sick of this receiving core, we have to do something.

According to Scott Kascmar, NFL Writer, Jay Cutler is now 4th in the league among active players with 13 career GW TD passes. He is behind Brady and Manning but in front of Rodgers, Eli, and Brees. He also tweeted a chart that says with a minimum of 30 total games, Cutler is 4th *ALL-TIME* in winning percentage (51.4%) in games that are "kept close in the 4th quarter and OT" (he did not say exactly what 'kept close' is).

Just looked at this, and after all the wheeling and dealing, the Bears have a pretty strong amount of draft capital for next year - all their picks except their 7th, plus Carolina's 2nd, Miami's 6th, and the pick from Pittsburgh that's either a 6th or (possibly) a 4th. What's even more interesting is that the Bears have very few starters who are free agents next year - besides Keenan Allan, their only other free agent starter is Teven Jenkins, unless Coleman Shelton wins the C job or you count Khari Blasingame. Really, there aren't even many depth FAs of note - Khalil Herbert is no longer the starter and has Roschon Johnson probably pushing him on the roster. Larry Bor…

We used to do a mock draft where people were GMs of different teams and we drafted in order, day by day, leading up to the draft. We don't have enough members to do that properly, but an easy alternative is doing a top 15 Mock Draft. I can consolidate the selections and produce a TalkBears consensus mock draft. Thoughts?

Okay, conspiracy theory in me here. Some years back, Angelo had a coach he didn't want. At that time, think back on how active we were in FA. Something between little and nothing was added in FA. Angelo did VERY little to upgrade this team during that time, and it showed in how weak our personnel was. Then Jauron is gone, and he gets the coach he wants in Lovie. Nearly immediately, he begins to be a player in FA. We then see him making some big moves like adding Tait, Wale and Moose, among others. Now look at this offseaosn. It starts out w/ all the talk from Lovie indicating he believes the team has the talent, and only coaching has held them b…

We are inside 1 week left before the draft. I'm going to spend the next few days trying to figure out who Emery's WTF pick will be. So far in his drafts it's been SMC followed by Kyle Long. I just posted in the other thread about "Emery's 6". Well that's what logic tells us. History tells us we're wrong. So who are we missing? Nix? Jernigan is more of a run stuffer than pass rusher. If you're going to go that route why not get the best run stuffer in the draft, one who also has some inside push as well? It's not hard to see Nix having the better career over Jernigan. At one point it was Nix who was rated the #1 DT in this draft. Fuller? I ju…

NFL QBR - 68.1 puts him at 10th Yards - 1676 puts him 4th Comp %- 68.1 puts him 5th TD's - 13 puts him 5th INT- 6 puts him at tied at 7th -----this is the one that needs to stay put at 6! I already know what Cutler Haters are going to say, its the WTF plays (INT) and I get that. But you have to admit his numbers are a lot better than before Trestman came to town. Projected 2014 as of today Comp 416 ATT 611 Yards 4,469 % 68.1 TD's 35 INT 16 QBR 68.1 Rating 97.4 If you asked me if I would be happy with these numbers before the season I would be. I'm hoping the TD to I…

I have heard many mention that there sources state, Marshall wont be brought back next year, that they will have to eat 5.5 million and have no problem with doing that. I think he is a good football player but is too erratic personally that just keeps everything in chaos on a bad team.

I got a front row view of a lot of things today, a different perspective than ever before, and here are a few things I saw: -That 5-yd cushion garbage evidently doesn't apply to Knox and Hester, because they Falcons DBs were on them the entire game -Regarding the 5-yd cushion, the Line Judge took an ass chewing several times; it even looked like Lovie got fired up once -Anthony Adams is a great dancer, too bad he doesn't seem to care about the game -Greg Olsen mouthed several F-bombs when watching the defense play -Greg Olsen is the only guy on the sideline who looks like he wants to win above anything else -The entire OL is slow and blah in everything they…

  20. August 18, 2008 Orton chosen over Grossman as starting quarterback By Larry Mayer LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The suspense about who would line up under center Sept. 7 in the season opener in Indianapolis ended Monday when Kyle Orton was anointed the Bears’ starting QB. Coach Lovie Smith cited several factors in choosing Orton over Rex Grossman, concluding a widely publicized competition that began in the spring and continued into the summer. Kyle Orton has compiled a 12-6 record as a starting quarterback in three seasons. “To come to a decision like that, we’ve taken a lot of things into consideration—last year, how we finished the season, OTAs, …
