So who do we draft as a QB to develop if Rex and Kyle fall short of expectations? Everyone seems concerned about QBs in the draft who have problems with mechanics, speed, agility, athleticism, quick release, Big School competition, etc... There have been many QBs drafted who had all of these attributes that flopped as NFL QBs. Ryan Leaf, drafted #2 in round 1 of the 1998 draft. Cade McNown drafted #12 in round 1 of the 1999 draft. How can we forget Rick Mirer drafted #2 of the 1993 draft. All of these QBs had all the qualities we have discussed necessary to become an NFL Star QB. PFT is talking about Miami's QB situation. W/ Pennington added, and you have to believe Henne is a lock, that will leave one spot for two other QBs, McCown and Beck. McCown was signed in the offseason, and got some bonus money too. Beck was a 2nd round pick in 2007. One is likely to go. They make some points why Beck could be on the block, or cut. Ever since Jimmy Johnson leaked the name Marc Trestman, I've been watching every highlight I could from his time in Canada. And I'm sure of the following statement: The majority of this board will be upset. Why? To make this offense work, either he'll have draft a ton of OL OR He's going to have a very unbalanced, semi-productive offense that relies on a lot of deep drops, has minimal rushing, and will get the QB drilled Judging from history, either scenario is going to make most of this board unhappy.

I got a notice to sign up for the TalkBears2 FF League I participated in last year but noticed it was set up for Auto-Draft. If it is going to be an Auto-Draft, I am not interested. Can anyone confirm that it is indeed changed to Auto-Draft this year? Last year I did not realize until a few minutes before the draft started that players did not get a point per reception, which I prefer, but went ahead and played. My fault, should have been more attentive to the rules. I just want to make sure I do not sign up for an Auto-Draft league as I think they really suck.

It could be just me, but it sure seems like Cutler has been throwing an inordinate amount of interceptions thus far during the offseason, albeit in training camp. The bulk of them coming from the 1st play of practice! I don't know what to make of it. Should we be worried that he's not adjusting to the system very well? Or is this just something you can sweep under the rug because it's meaningless, and QB's like to test their limits during practices? The defense has clearly been light years ahead of the offense so far in camp, but I'm curious to see if the offense will ever come around before the start of the season. I think we discussed the "dark horse" contenders earlier in the season and I don't want to necessarily tip my hat to *unnamed poster*, but I believe he picked Frey (at least I think it was him) to be that candidate. So far, Frey has been pretty impressive. I see a 'Corey Graham' type of player in the making and there almost is no doubt he (Frey) is the current starting Nickel back. IMHO, he is defintitely the better option over Hayden. From what I've seen when he's playing, he's been around the ball in almost each instance. Anyway, per Biggs Iowa TE CJ Fiedorowicz said first team he met with at Senior Bowl was #Bears I'm somewhat intrigued by them even talking to a potential "impact" TE. By impact I mean a player who will contribute. Right now C.J. is slotted in the 3-4 round range, which if the Bears fix a good deal of their defensive problems in FA and then grab another couple defensive guys to start the draft I'd love to see them grab another big TE. With that said, this team isn't big on talent anywhere but ST's and the last time I looked they were 11-4 and might secure a bye for the first round of the playoffs this weekend when and if they SWEEP the NFC North. I was thinking that with the full organizational changeover that Poles is not going to go into 2022 expecting to win the SB. With the cap space vs the number of holes to fill coupled with the lack of a 1st rounder, he may stretch this out a little longer. If he does plan to do this, he won't be signing any big-name FAs, will probably trade down in the draft, and will trade away assets to gain cap space and draft capital. The players that would mostly impact the 2023 cap are Mack, Quinn, Jackson, Whitehair, Goldman, Cohen, and Trevathan. The hope is you can move away from most of these guys before the start of next season via trade or cut. I figure Goldman and C…
