Bearstalk

Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

So I was thinking, regardless if the Bears use #1 on a QB or trade down, they will have at least one pick in the top 10 to draft a non-QB. Knowing that, and with the assumption that 3 QBs will go in the top 10, what group of players must the Bears get at least one player from? For me, it is a group that includes MHJ, Nabers, Odunze, Bowers, or Alt. With 3 QBs, there is a chance that all of them are gone at #9. If that is the case, would you be ok with someone else in this group? Someone like Turner, Verse, or Latu on the Edge? Fashanu? I would rather trade down if none of those 5 are there. Thoughts?

This dude's idiot father not only doesn't want to hire an actual NFLPA agent, but he's also asking completely idiotic questions about foregoing NFLPA collective bargaining rookie salary structure, and yet again about team equity. Dude is going to be a combination of Jamarcus Russell and the the Ball Brothers moron father. The Bears absolutely can't take the risk that his father convinces his son to hold out, or to take it even further, basically holding the Bears entire franchise at ransom. TRADE THE PICK. https://www.outkick.com/sports/caleb-williams-agent-nfl-draft-status https://theathletic.com/5301341/2024/02/28/caleb-williams-quarterback-nfl-…

But even though I’m a JF fan, and a fans of JD, We can’t pass on Caleb. His mental makeup separates him from the class. He’s everything we want in a qb. Most likely, we as bears fans will never get an opportunity to draft a qb of this caliber in our lifetime

Here's my view for the day. Sitting with the Michigan parents. And got to talk to coach. I told him I wished he was our coach. "They didn't want me"

Odds are Justin will get traded. He has a long way to go to be a tier one QB, but you could win with him. He has some special in his game. Time moves on but one day Justin will get to a SB.

Apparently this visit is scheduled for tomorrow. Normally visits don't happen until late March and/or early April, so this is considered "early". From Breer, it seems like the Bears will make a decision this week, and definitely ahead of the start of free agency. If the Bears were planning to trade Fields, they believe his value will decrease once free agency opens. https://www.si.com/nfl/2024/03/04/combine-takeaways-bears-plan-williams-draft-quarterback-fields The bottom line is, we should know this week what the Bears intentions are going forward. This will be a relief because ever since the #1 pick was locked up, there has been this discourse between…

Well known and highly regarded ESPN contributor Chris Mortensen passes at 72. As I travel with my 87 year old dad I’m reminded how important family and close friends are and how quick life changes. Take care of yourselves and cherish your loved ones. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/chris-mortensen-dies-at-72

They were trying to sign him last off-season but he went back to Buffalo. For a 2024 5th rounder. Poles is going to have to trade down, down to 5 picks in the draft.

Ryan Bates is obviously another stop gap acquisition. He plays C/OG. He wasn't good enough to start for Buffalo to so he isn't good enough for us. In comes Harbaugh: he says McCarthy is a player and his combine backed it up. He was bigger and had a stronger arm than anticipated. JJ also blew teams away with his interviews. That being said, here it is...

Sorry guys, but I deleted the post offering a poll to decide who is at fault for the in-fighting. Truth be told, many involved share the blame. Having a poll will just cause further issues. I don't usually delete posts, so I hope you understand.

  14. Seen this on Twitter. Brady and Mahomes were never considered generational. Who ? Andrew luck - no Trevor Lawrence - no Joe Burrows - no Eli Manning was never stated to be generational Aaron Rodgers was never called generational Russell Wilson was never considered generational Matt Stafford wasn't Can anyone think of somebody? Maybe Peyton Manning, was he considered generational? In the last 20 years only Manning won one SB that was considered a generational prospect.

  15. I’ve never been so pumped and excited about having a quarterback the caliber of Caleb Williams since the Super Bowl Shuffle - 46 quarterbacks since then. I was happy about Justin Fields when we moved up to get him. I truly thought we have our “It” quarterback. Now, three years later, Fields is not “It.” He doesn’t have the vision of a quarterback. Picking Williams on the first pick will turn around the Chicago Bears’ misfortune of having bad to mediocre to good quarterbacks. Finally, we’ll have an “It” quarterback.

The Bears have signed S Kevin Byard to a 2 year deal. Details are not yet available. This is a HUGE move. He's been a perennial All Pro. Our secondary is stacked now. Poles has filled the two glaring holes in our roster (C and FS) and free agency hasnt even started yet. That's not to say he won't do more at center. These moves are also a sign that he's not trading the #1 pick.

What is Poles was asking for the Sun and the Moon in trade for JF (cuz his boss is meddling) and he doesn't want to select CW but wants to fleece Washington then fleece NE so that he would be forced to keep JF? JF, and D, Line, and some weapons.?‍♂️ 5-D Chess
